Guts vs Dimitri is one of the best death battles they’ve done this year. Definitely recommend watching.

that one really surprised me. I don't really read the comics Zatanna is in, but did know DC likes to overpower its characters in the comics but not in other media, but never thought Zatanna was one of them, I was surprised by how powerful she was in Dark Justice League as most the media I'd seen her in treated her like either a joke character or at best a C list hero who was easily defeated by putting something over her mouth or magically stealing her voice.
One we will for sure check out at some point 😅

Phoenix for power bias. Cuz I like Fire powers, even if that’s not her entire shtick.
I was fine with how this ended.
But man the music they made for this was bangin! I didn’t watch the X-Men cartoon too much as a kid, but it’s way too iconic for me to not recognize those familiar guitar riffs. Apparently a Teen Titan theme was mixed in there as well, but I couldn’t recognize any parts if that’s the case. Must be a recency thing.
That show is like 20 years old, but yeah the theme is in there
I got to say that I appreciate the music score during this battle as it seems to be a mixture of Teen Titans x X-Men animated series main title song into one. As it’s catchy and nice for the Bird Battle. 😄 As for the battle, it was insane and amazing to see both birds fighting it out. It seem to remind me of Zananta v Scarlet Witch Death Battle. So with the new one for you two to view, it’s going to be one big blood bath episode that shows Psychopath characters but they have a heart to do what needs to be done to get the job done. Doesn’t matter if they are sane or insane, they are fighters and die while trying their best. 😌

I still love that timing of Jean's most resent death in correlation to this episode's release that they had to go back and put that in their with the "waisted" sound effect and bagpipes
But I still love Raven blowing out the last flame of the Phoenix Force, and the animation for their birds is great along with the track to go with it "Forevermore"
Most people was actually betting that Phenix was going to win when this battle was announced due to her hype and reputation but Raven has proven herself to be able to defeat her dispite all the doubts. Not that many people know just how powerful Raven is
Some people didn't think she was going to win twice after she beat a pony up.
Any self-respecting fan of DC knows that Raven is one of DC's most powerful characters by far and a literal demi-goddess that cant be killed
As a matter of fact in certain universes she achieves godhood (at least in a manner of speaking)
Phoenix had no chance against Raven even with them going easy on her

It's true that not many people know how powerful Raven is, but this battle had absurdly terrible research. Like "Raven even held off the Spectre!" without disclosing that in literally the very next panel, Raven was immediately defeated and would have been killed. That's not 'holding off' anyone. Phoenix is the top dog of all of Marvel, Raven doesn't even crack the Top 10 of DC.
This is the first Deathbattle video I've watched, and I'm really enjoying it so far -- I love the way that you're doing this to decide who will choose the cosplay if I understood that right! This was a fun watch, both Raven (from the 2003 Teen Titans series) and Phoenix/Jean Grey were my favourite characters in their respective media growing up!
This DB has some great music in it. And it was fun watching these two fighting it

And I know they've reacted to Dragon Ball FighterZ stuff before, but that was just moves. The breakdowns in Death Battle spoil lots of specific plot details.
Raven is literally ultra-powerful just by herself. She doesn't need any other external power. Trigon is at the level of Lucifer Morningstar so he is basically second or third place in DC. His daugther is at his level of power.

If you want to know, Rachel Grey is Cyclops and Jean Grey’s daughter from an alternate future and Hope Summers is Cable’s daughter. Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Prior, who is Jean Grey’s clone that Mr Sinister created.

My bet was on Raven in the firstplace, because of being biased as well 😆 I just know her from the original Teen Titans show (which was really good) and even for a "kids show" she was freaking awesome and handels many adult´esk situations.

DC has this weird habit of when nearing the end of its runs *just before another reboot* or for big events only making its heroes insanely powerful in the comics. These same heroes are usally nerfed or are being shown at much earlier points in their histories in all other media (that most casual fans would be familiar with), such as movies animation, and tv shows. Why the Goku vs Superman debate keeps up because we only ever see first arc Superman for the most part, it would be like if Dragon Ball kept rebooting and never got any further than the Saiyan Saga, or Namek saga before rebooting again. But that said even in the comics Raven is rarely written this way, she still needs help, she can still be knocked out, captured, powers nullified/countered, and rely on team members. It is these very few, and usually alternate universes or end of the story versions that get cosmically powerful. Meanwhile the Phoenix Force, while battered around by writers in regards to motive, nature, and exact power *much like the treatment given to Galactus*, is usually shown as this big cosmic threat level being. But that;s comics, not long ago a version of Thanos apparently defeated the Living Tribunal and One Above All despite that contradicting Marvel's entire cosmic mythos.
Should definitely check out zatanna vs the scarlet witch, two absolutely insane characters in their respective universes

It's okay, I hard pulled Phoenix here too. I grew up more with X-Men/Marvel than Teen Titans/DC. Going into this I thought there was absolutely no way Phoenix could lose, since I knew how absurdly powerful she is. Never doubt the power of the "goth girlfriend" I guess lol

For a long time, I didn't get the Raven/Beast Boy shipping since Beast Boy had already been with Terra. But recently it hit me that Terra was toxic to Beast Boy, even if she had good intentions.
Raven from Teen Titans will always be a favorite of mine. Phoenix from X-Men is cool too, but Raven was a lot cooler imo.

Thank you so much for the reaction! I'm a Raven fan also, an expert one so feel free to ask me questions about her. Its surprising that DEATHBATTLE left out Unkindness Raven who almost destroyed DC.
Phoenix is labelled by Marvel as one of the most powerful beings while Raven is not. This statement is what makes people blind from looking at Raven's arsenal. She may be not a cosmic god but she was able to beat cosmic god tiers. She once rewrote reality and even rewrote Darkseid's personality. Able to absorb other people's powers and resisting reality erasure, shattering the bounds of reality.
Anyways, I don't know if you do music reactions but I highly recommend a trend song "Gento" by SB19. Trust me, fans will flood your comments with appreciation and probably subscribe. I mean dc heroes fight gods on a regular and beings you aren’t supposed to surpass. They are always bound to defeat simple marvel beings.

i do think they have this one right (they have missed on a few). jean is stronger but unless she ends it quick i think jean has more weakness than raven and thats why she would lose in a long fight.

true phoenix was op as hell but raven on the other hand is overly op...the fact her soul self (which technically is her soul) cant be destroyed makes her basically immortal, only way to kill her would be to absorb her soul but since she is so powerful in doing so herself (making it that you cant take control of it thus linking it to her's and absorbing it) meant raven had the upper hand from the ground up...yes jean did burnt her body to a crisp but raven doesnt need it
also i seen people saying raven would be stuck in the whitehot room which is false, she can traverse through dimensions with her soul they even made a little window explaining it in the post-analysis

I don’t think it’s necessarily about being salty/ bias. Death battle did truly get some of the panels wrong about Jean to justify her being defeated. Not to say she would win but how she was defeated especially in the white hot room is impossible as far as we know. And they tried to lowball Jeans control over her soul. I would’ve been completely fine with Jean losing if the at least let raven go all out with her unkindness form. It’s just kind of disrespectful to both characters imo.
@@oblivionj2323 I mean…Raven had the option to just absorb the phoenix force but the thing is the ring of azar destroyed trigon’s soul which is basically as strong if not more than darkseid and the phoenix so Raven winning in the white hot room makes sense as raven has fought trigon and the spectre, jean could overpower her in attacks but the fact Raven just wouldn’t be able to die cuz of her soul self (essentially her soul) meant jean would’ve lost either way
If they brought out the unkindness form (which I think they said they wouldn’t use as imo it isn’t technically canon) then that would’ve been unfair since raven’s already a menace alone in her standard form she just holds back her powers for obvious reasons
@@alex33785 I can’t really argue against to many of the points you made since my comics knowledge is limited for both of them but like I said before I’m fine with Jean losing as I like both characters a lot. I just wished they would have done better research instead of low balling Jean. It just seemed like they tried to find any small thing to justify her defeat and turned it into her Achilles heel per say. Also can the phoenix actually be permanently destroyed or will it just always keep coming back?
@@oblivionj2323 the phoenix can regenerate in the whitehot room I think but jean’s soul wont be which is the whole point of the death battle…also if the phoenix force itself was raven’s opponent then she could have easily defeated Jean just like she did in the fight then absorb the bits left of the phoenix force left or while it’s regenerating (which would be more weak than if it was at full potential making it extremely easier for Raven to absorb it)…as for raven’s soul…it cannot be absorbed or controlled as far as the opponent’s psychic ability to absorb souls and their actual power is higher than raven’s which would be extremely hard to get to since she gets stronger every time she absorbs souls and that her feats are way too high for marvel character to get to in my knowledge of things
Also we should not forget that Raven would be able to beat darkseid, has defeated triggon multiple times and other very powerful being
Add that with the fact her soul is basically immortal (regeneration through total disintegration) makes her extremely dangerous as a foe
I could see Raven being able to match up to actually beat galactus from marvel, and if she absorbs any souls equal to her or triggon’s then her power level would just be off the chart of OPness
Also the phoenix force takes a long time to regenerate
Once again dc pretty much always wins. Just cause the authors never have limiters.

They’re saying that she lost due to soul purification or som? Even when Jean has shown resistance to that. Death battles is partly owned by DC so of course it’ll be a little biased but in my opinion Phoenix wins
+ we know it’s biased because the Phoenix can’t lose IN the WHITE HOT ROOM. Especially not White Phoenix of the crown

So it wasn’t really touched on in the death battle, but the Unkindness Raven can easily be considered as the most powerful character in all of DC. Loved the battle though, Raven is probably one of most my favorite characters in all of fiction
Ik raven was gonna win the whole time ik Jean is popular but read comics on both in shoot raven can definitely win she's ridiculous in the comics I recommend going to read some in prepare to be in awe

DC characters are way too powerful.
Death Battle always is very bias that you can't all there battles are accurate like this one Raven not more powerful than Phoenix they left out to many feats Raven cannot do or have.
This is one of those DB where a LOT of people called bull$#!+ on the results, and even made videos explaining why Raven would lose 100 times over vs Phoenix.
Also, DB always leans towards IP's that they profit from, despite fighter data. Since they are part of Rooster Teeth, their RWBY characters will always win, and recently they made a deal With Warner Bros. and did a Justice League/RWBY crossover 2 part movie. With that in nind, any DC character they feature around this time will win hands down, because money.
That being said - who really cares? Lol.

Did Railgun bring in the big bucks for them? I'd literally never heard of Misaka before that battle.
Raven was in a previous death battle and they really didn't mention half the impressive things she's done so for this one I think they had to make it clear how strong she actually was. Like almost all of DC's characters, Raven really holds back a lot in her fight. DC characters don't often have big showings of their full power because of how much damage they could do and how many lives they'd endanger. When they do though, they show just how broken they really are.
