Going into my 2nd year of retirement. So far napping is my favorite hobby. Eventually I'll do more but I'm not in a rush.

I learn songs on my acoustic guitar. I listen to music on my stereo and occasionally attend live performances. That has become a good avenue to meet people, that have become pretty good friends. I walk on local nature trails and ride my bike. I like to leisurely shoot basketball shots every now and then. There’s always house projects and maintaining the yard and gardens. Car projects were a hobby, but I’m winding that down since it’s getting harder to work under the hood, or beneath the car these days. Spending time with elderly mother, and my sons. I’ve started trying my hand at building an audio amplifier from a kit.

I play video games on my gaming computer. Guild Wars 2, and Elder Scrolls Online. Play them with other retired friends, talking on headsets and playing the game together. Been having a blast. What is amazing is how time flies by so fast that you wonder where all of it went. Why didn't time do that when we worked hard all day? lol. Great video, have a great day!

I’m retired and dont miss my job at all, not interested in part time work. Easy to find things to do. Don’t waste your retirement days, once they are gone , they’re gone, you’re not getting them back. Life is short before you start having health problems.

I’m with you as far as not missing my job, I’m retired too, retired in 2022, almost 2yrs ago (public transportation) and military service before then, l have plenty to do in retirement, some hobbies l was doing before l retired ie fishing, learning guitar and bass guitar, l more time for those hobbies etc, glad to hear someone else say they don’t miss their job, l would consider a part time job, but I’d CERTAINLY be PICKY, let me add l wouldn’t be overly concerned about how much it pays, I’d be more concerned about what hrs and days I’d be working, No weekends, Holidays, maybe 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am-1pm, so yeah I’m with you, l did real good financially from yrs of working, it wasn’t always easy, you certainly have to put up with a lot to have a career, l did my part to get along with coworkers, management even if l didn’t agree with management decisions etc, l have fond memories of some of the people l worked with, we shared stories on our job experiences-laughs- l had a family member tell me that if l don’t have to work then don’t, also a friend told me that too, so l say again there is plenty for me to do, fishing, exercise, etc-before l retired there were coworkers who retired and come back to work part time, to each his/her, not me, but I’ll never say never, I’ll say l wouldn’t want to-a lot of long days and nights working for decades, retirement didn’t come overnight, I’m in a position where l can give assistance to those who are still working, I’ve told a family member if they ever need a ride to work let me know, etc. l really enjoyed reading the various comments on retirement

Age discrimination Bigtime re retired folks.
Health destroyed by 12 car wrecks and 5 strokes in 4 years. No vehicle, can't drive, barely can walk cause of equilibrium issues. Ain't life Grand?
      Not.
Glad I took long distance trips when I was younger after hearing seniors say they shouldn't have waited to retirement age to take trips cause now they're too disabled to do so.
The trips were great And affordable on even the pittance I got employment wise. Now I exist in the wilderness on half SS ( damn govt blatantly lied as to what I'd get once I reached FRA. Never Ever trust the damn govt. Am praying God puts them out of biz.
Perhaps in the pol climate now that may soon happen.

Volunteer with Scouting America. Today the youth are boys and girls on the path to Eagle Scout. Merit Badge Counselors are very useful. There are HUNDREDS and these help scouts explore hobbies, outdoor skills, and career interests. Get involved. Watch others at merit badge clinics. Get the required training. There is nothing more satisfying than helping to build a scout.

My wife's health was very poor, and she was only alive because she received a kidney transplant. About a year ago, she began hitting the gym in the afternoon. She's slimmed down some, built up muscle tone, and has a much more positive attitude! And she no longer talks about what she wants me to do after she dies!

My husband and I have been retired almost 10 years now and have yet to be bored. We travel a lot but when we’re home we also have a routine that ensures we’re exercising and eating well regularly. We hang out with friends occasionally but (believe it or not) we actually prefer each other’s company. Watching tv is fine but don’t let it take over your day to day.
