Do you know what disturbs me the most in all of this? It's also important to be selfless, not selfish. I genuinely spend a huge amount of time comforting the people I love when they're having a hard time. This isn't a short term thing. It's been several years. Though we do have a very defined dynamic I am with mature adults that are fully functional on their own. We can all financially and emotionally survive without each other. We just really love each other. There's no power dynamic issues even though I am very dominant and they are passive. I frequently check in to see if they want something to change. I have my wife's phone password, she has mine, but we don't check up on each other. I trust her. She trusts me. I don't think our girlfriend has her phone password protected, but it isn't something I know because it doesn't matter. We don't talk down to each other. I just can't imagine behaving as this person does. Everything is so complicated and dramatic. The weirdest thing is the whole "Trinity" thing. No. Just no. We love each other differently, NOT equally. We fulfill different things in each other. As a Domme I provide different relationship benefits than my wife or girlfriend would. We just really love each other. There's no power dynamic issues even though I am very dominant and they are passive. I frequently check in to see if they want something to change.
I have my wife's phone password, she has mine, but we don't check up on each other. I trust her. She trusts me. I don't think our girlfriend has her phone password protected, but it isn't something I know because it doesn't matter.

The instant the whole "polyamory" part of Greg's mess came up, I hate to admit, I started to panic a bit trying to pull apart what I've written and make sure that the relationship is actually healthy or if I'm just fooling myself and not seeing how close it is to Greg's and if I should just write it out of the story entirely even though, I feel, it's where these three characters will naturally end up (plus they've genuinely become the characters that make my heart swell and their relationship just writes itself at this point, so to cut it might honestly break me). But, after reading what you've said here, I'm realizing that they much more match your situation than they do Greg's with how they treat and respect each other.
