Crazy story for anyone having this similar problem and this video didn't solve the problem. I had a 96 GMC Yukon with 5.7 vortec that all of a sudden would not start, it cranked, but no start. I did the exact same thing as this video, and more, and nothing worked. After 3 days of hitting my head against the wall I had my wife crank it over while I did some more tinkering. I then noticed, by looking at the fan blades, it was turning the wrong direction!!! I was like WTF??? I then replaced the starter and VIOLA! It started right up because it was now turning the proper direction! Unreal! That was the first and last time I have ever seen a starter all of a sudden decide to start turning the wrong direction. Maybe this will help someone else someday. Cheers!
Have a similar dilemma 1990 k1500 5.7 swapped in drivetrain from 1989 suburban swapped tcase from k1500 It ran then I lost fuel and spark got it running again now it won’t do either can hear fuel pump prime tested injectors with a little d battery they spray great Tested coil and ignition control module did the wet find trick and nothing so I’m going to pick another icm up and try it again keep in mine I cycled out spare coils and Icms I had around the shop that worked also have a new ground cable from batter to engine with the pig tail to fender
I’d check the fuse first then check the relay. There should be a relay next to it you can swap in or you can jump the terminals with a short wire. If the fuse and relay are both good then you can confirm you have voltage at the plug above the rear axle, if you do, you have a bad pump.
Awesome video. Did you have to perform the crank shaft position sensor relearn after you replaced the sensor? I’ve got mixed answers about doing a relearn for this model of truck.
Ive been throwing money at a newly built motor. One thing i have not done is clean the cap. Gonna try it tomorrow and ill come back if it works to say your freaking awesome. Wish i didnt replace the fuel pump today cuz it didnt make ot start
Checking spark(ignition) is crucial. I assumed mine was okay because I could see spark when I pulled the plug. But what I didn’t take into consideration was the QUALITY of the spark. That’s when I popped the cap and found the corrosion. Simple fix. Hope that’ll help you out!
Hello sir, great vid. I got a 2005 ford expedition same issue. I have fuel to the rail and I have spark aswell as compression. Any idea what my solution could be? Thanks!
Thanks man! Make sure the fuel pressure is in range, like 30-40 psi at idle. Make sure your spark is good; part of my issue was weak spark due to corrosion under the cap. Hope that helps!
Crazy I have the same issue with my 96 tahoe and I legit plan on swapping everything out you just swapped out 😂 i haven’t had any luck but I will be doing this week pretty soon 🤙🏼

92 Corvette,40,000 miles, just bought it, no start, no fuel pressure at the rails, new fuel pump and new fuel pump relay i hope. Aaaarrrrrrrhhhhh.
Yipes, that's a lot of miles for a Corvette
It’s the vatts 1000%
Thanks for the inspiration, man. Im currently on my own saga
Nice one buddy, wish I can join your team and work together
Similar problem for my 96 gmc but when I check for fuel pressure I get nothing/zip/nada

Ingnition module 103.00 no go...fuel pump replacement 165.00...battery used 40.00...has spark...
Check if you have fuel pressure at motor, also check out the distributor cap, the contact points in there can get corroded easily.

Thanks man, I just swapped it out
what about on a 1950 chevy will it affect it as well ! i have crank but no start!!
You need fuel, air, and spark/ignition. Make sure you have all three
That loose part is map sensor they don't fit real snug anyways there is just a rubber o rings on them
I pulled it out and checked the o-ring, jammed it back in
Damn that was entertaining! Good job on the video and presentation.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

Good Video thanks
Thank you!

Try something as the fuses, something so simple could cause a headache

Hah! Nice, good luck!
What codes were you getting if any?
There were a few codes, I think one was an O2 sensor. I ignored that because I deleted my cats
Go rent a scan tool
Got one
@@EvanNolen1989 how much is the cheapest one? and where do I get it?
