Truly a masterful job has been done in restoring this fantastic 1970 Plymouth Road Runner to its former glory, and even improving it! The combination of yellow with the black vinyl roof looks great. Also, its brown interior with those stylized wraparound seats could not be better (special mention for the friendly Coyote buckled into the right seat haha) Finally, a nice detail from his mother making that great wooden sign in the early 80's ! You did well by showing us at the end that photograph of Mr. Schlesinger, when he was 16 years old, saving this lucky Road Runner from the scrap metal dealer. Nice story, Lou, and best regards!
Hi Jaime, Happy to share this "Nice story" and car with you, and the wooden Road Runner sign too :-) My pleasure reading the details you notice. Best regards, Lou
What a great looking Road Runner, the restoration on it is super, and what a great colour, that guy has a great car, they don`t make them like that any more, super video.👍👍.
This car is perfectly done. The owner must have spent a fortune on this restoration. Obviously he loved this car. Lou you did it again. He is saying he had added a lot of options. You ask him what they were. In the midst of his answer your ADHD kicks in and you interrupt him. Just relax, step aside and let the owner tell his car story. If the interview lags and the owner isn't saying anything or a question you have about the car hasn't been answered then by all means ask it. My question. Did he find all the parts that needed replacing or added or did the restorer do everything? Did he have to get a loan to finance this massive restoration or had he been squirreling money away for years to do it? You do find the coolest and rarest cars. You also feature cars that the average person could own but still enjoy and cherish. That is something I really admire about you and your show. Keep the cars coming. I will continue to watch with trepidation and be filled with questions at the end of the episode that weren't asked. Seeing the featured cars and proud owners will still be the best part of My Car Story.
Hi Bass in Your Face!, Happy to read you appreciate this modified car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing and I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
Hi Budget Audiophile Life-long, "ADAM DID AN EXCELLENT JOB BUILDING HIS CAR ,HIS WAY…AND THINK HE HAS GREAT TASTE" I agree. He made his personal dream car, Lou
Beautiful car Lou always loved the Roadrunner. Don't see many of the 1st car videos. I bought my Duster at 16 years old for 700 dollars reverse was out in the transmission but I got it running again (it had been sitting for 4 years when I got it) and eventually rebuilt the transmission and drove it to high school and college and work. I'm 32 now and almost finished with the restoration process.
Once again, thanks for posting another excellent Mopar video from you Lou! The '70 Plymouth Road Runner you featured has an amazing story behind it and without a doubt is one of the best-looking Plymouths around!
Hi lyonheart84 exotic fruit growing, "That's dedication to have a car for so long and be able to save the money to rebuild it to the specification they wanted, super impressive" Well said. I agree, Lou
Fellow New Jerseyan here! What a car and what a story behind it. This has to be one of the nicest Road Runner's you've shown us, Lou. And the cherry on the cake is that absolutely fantastic Road Runner made by Adam's Mom. Alot of heavy sentimental touches going on with this car story, Lou. Couldn't help but smile throughout this video. And that Hemi idle? That was the sound of Nascar in 1969 and 1970!
Beautiful road runner, nicely restored, a friend NickPanaritis has a shop not far from my place and he's restored many mopars. I can see that this one was very well done also.
I don't know how the placement of the A/C pump complicates operation or maintenance, but seems like a clever work around of the Air Grabber air cleaner system. Well done, and love that interior color. Very rarely seen.
One of your best Lou. I cant tell you how many times I was out there working on my first car. Or how many times with my best friends on theirs. I had only brakes, exhaust, and minor rust issues.. and one transmission replant to do but I was always out there calling me to wash and polish it, vacuum it and splash a little cologne on the back seat carpet for the girls That 1963 Olds 88 coupe still haunts my dreams. I often in my dreams over the years, find I had forgotten where I put it and come across it again in a shed buried under things on the family farm.. weird I know..!! I love your guest and his dedication to this great car. That photo of him and his car at 16 blew me away. He could have been one of many of us. Funny I have had chances to buy another `63 Olds but none would do. They were not the one. God bless you and yours Merry Christmas to you and all your viewers. Praying daily for our great USA. I am heartbroken for everyone its not good for anyone.
My 1st car was a 1972 Chevelle SS that had serious cancer in all the Chevelle places. It was a ripper but I sold it a few years later before all the sheet metal disappeared. Had a lot of fun in it!
He got it for under 200 bucks! I've always wanted a Roadrunner and the '70 is my favorite year. Love the fact this was his 1st car (and still has it) and everything Adam has done with it. Great story Lou, thank you!
Hey big bro Lou!! BOOM....BOOOOOM!!! My floppy sneakers shot off my tubesocked stocking feet like cannons, reaching Illinois in seconds and you catch those boys "Gary Carter catcher style" in a squat, big brother lol 🤣😜! Me? KO'd😵 as usual, eyes closed, mouth open, my very hyper, chick crazy, twitching stocking feet now still and my girlfriend happy 'cause ol' JV has been a bit too frisky lately, smiling at other chicks more than usual 😉. This Road Runner gives me that reaction, Lou! What a well put together MOPAR beast, man! My inner teenage boy is ignited, as he easily is lol 😜! We love these fuselage designs, Lou-with all that character and the whimsical Beep Beep! Iconic and All American. Adam has a great story, and you, as always, do a great job bringing them to us car guys (and gals). Thanks big bro! ⚾⚾JV Johnny
I thought that, too. But see the pic of him working on the car at age 16. There is the bird with no stripe. Restored the way he had it, possibly removed by the first owner?
Back in the day you could order a car with stripe delete and it would not have the dust trail stripe. You got to remember that these cars were originally family sedans or what we called grocery getter cars. Without the racing stripes and decals, the cars are dull and have no character. But, some guys like the sleeper look and want the car as plain as possible. Me? I want them decked out with all the factory stripes and muscle car features. To me, the dust trail strip on the 70 roadrunner was way cool and would never leave it off. @@413x398
Being From N.J. The First Thing That Caught My Eye Were The QQ BEEP 70 License Plates , Next Was The N.J. Inspection Sticker On The Right Lower Side Of The Window. Another Great Story LOU. Keep Them Coming. Great Job To The Owner.
my dad's cousin Phil had a 68 Roadrunner though he traded that for a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 with fiberglass body panels suspension upgrades and wheely bars
Hi Jeff, "It’s great that he’s owned it so long and the restoration is amazing." I agree. Really a dream car he has created. My pleasure sharing this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
From the factory...a manual lever type, plastic toggle switch on the lower dash, that operated a small vacuum tank (supplied by rubber hoses connected to the intake manifold) on the hood that moved a lever to open/close the Air Grabber door. Very simple design, genius engineering, and very effective. Had one on my '71 Charger.

Hi TheGunfighter45acp, "Amazing" NICE! You're welcome, Lou
Why is it a tribute? Was it a Satellite originally? Couldn't hear with all that warehouse noise.
@@jaymartell2967 It had a different drivetrain, etc and was restored in homage to a '70 Roadrunner Hemi specs.

the air grabber, is it opened and closed through a manual mechanism ?

very cool, love anything mechanical, thanks!@@marksanzone4948
Lou don't you find it annoying how so many peeps are afraid to rev their cars? You tell them to rev and they barely press the pedal.
Hi Nicky, I've realized some people love the gas pedal and some people just like the gas pedal :-) Lou
Where do you find a 426 Hemi for sale? An original out of another car must go for an astronomical price. Do they even make 426 “crate” engines?
I'm not the expert, however I did get an e-mail from Dodge selling engines.
Schlesinger? That sounds familiar! Leon Schlesinger created Looney tunes
