  • Hey, y'all! Sorry for the delay in my latest video ..my hubs is my video editor so I can't fire him😅..lol! In this episode, I am making activated charcoal fluid hot process soap. I usually keep it all black but this time I decided to not include the whole batch when putting in the activated charcoal. For my essential oil blend, I used tea tree, lemongrass and lime and a little bit of chamomile.

    It tuned out so beautiful!!! I'm just starting to make soap and so far hot process looks like the one to go with..I still don't understand how you get it to be so pourable.. is it because of your receipt? Or the method u use to cook it?

      I would say it’s methodology and how I cook it. Your soap recipe, water content etc matters as well

    Very pretty! ! Will this have any kind of exfoliating effect to it? Perhaps some ground lavender?

      No ground lavender just good ole activated charcoal

    Looks great. Just wondering, do you split your liquid between mixing some with the SH and the rest during or after the cook?

      Depending on my additives, yes I will add some after the cook.

      @@RumCreekSoaps - Thanks for the reply. So may I ask how does your soaps look so fluid before you add the yogurt? I've never seen soap that is in the vaseline stage be so loose.

      It depends on my recipe I use. On my French clay soap video you can see the difference before and if it changes after the yogurt. Plus the fragrance/essential oil still affects it too. You can always tell a change in how your soap behaves especially if there's a change in your recipe and additives. I also let my soap batter rest after its done volcanoing that's when I check to see if it has pushed thru to vaseline stage. Usually it is at that point I move forward.

      @@RumCreekSoaps - thanks for the reply. I started doing a 55% and 45% liquid split and now my soap is fluid enough that I can pour directly into the mold.

    Hi tanke u for sharing,what is the temperature the lye and the oils? And did u cook it on low or high,i usually cook it on low,but it doesnt so fluid,thank u for your answer,did u also add suger to the lye? Or sudim lactate? ,

    • @RumCreekSoaps
      @RumCreekSoaps  3 года назад +3

      My oils are usually 190 and up and the lye is poured time it all dissolves. I don't let it cool. I don't cook or high or low at all. The crock liner is not in the warmer. So I make the soap on the countertop no heating element. I simply add my hot oils to what ever container I am using on the counter and start from there. I add sugar and sodium lactate sometimes in the water or sometimes after depending on my additives.

    Darf ich fragen wie hoch der Wasseranteil ist? Der Seifenleim ist so wunderbar flüssig.
