Way quicker more direct explanation without wasting time! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Realistically, you should lower the contrast, saturation and sharpness in the Neutral profile if tyou're not using SLOG settings, so that you maintain more of the shadows and highlights data. Increasing the contrast will (for wedding video, at least) lead to burnout on white dresses and black-crushing on dark clothes, as well as making sweaty foreheads burn out sooner. Also, setting the Zebras to 100% and making sure that is turned on will help get the best exposure when there are only small flickers of zebra on the screen. Lastly, you should also turn on Focus Peaking, make it bright and red so it shows you more info on what's in focus. If you need to go to manual focus to fix/lock a scene off, you get instant feedback on where you've touch focussed. You also forgot to mention duel card simultaneous recording to ensure a backup of precious data.
I LOVE my A7-4
Thank you. Very clear and well presented. Saves hours trawling through the manual.
This was exactly the fast and to the point video I was looking for!! Thank you
This was really helpful. Thank you for the tips!
Thanks, simple, easy to follow and useful :)
very helpfull instruction.THANKS
What are the settings you've used to shoot this video and which camera have you used for shooting this video? It looks amazing, so crisp and natural.
Thank you for clear and concise!
Thanks for the tips man!
Sweet and Simple...❤
Great work bro thank you your video ❤
Thanks for the information ❤
Wow! Thanks for those tips. I feel prepared for tomorrow's interview shooting
Does this apply to streaming as well? Or is there a way to have a separate set of settings for when I go live?
Tnx u guys
Thanks!
I love the simplicity of using my iPhone with an added microphone. If I ever want to move up in my production then I know what to use. Thanks!
Wow Thank You! ❤
Thank you 🙏🏾
Great help, at first my camera would not format videos in 4k with audio. With the help of these settings it shoots 4k video with audio effortlessly. Thank you!
Could you guys make a video for all the best settings on the A7IV for top down video?
Thank you for this - it was nice to see a video on settings that don't push you into using LOG formats -I came to your video to see what autofocus settings you had, So I will try them - I also noticed you did not mention using Dynamic Range Optimizer - What do you think of that feature? Would love to know your thoughts on that feature -
Coming from iPhone, I’m terrified of this little tiny low resolution screen. Any suggestions on a monitor to get so I can see with clarity what I’m doing real time with no delay?
Love the video.
Can you share your favorite / best settings for recording sports, i.e., soccer???
Thank you.
Great video tutorial. BTW, is the magenta setting from the white balance section necessary if you're going to color-grade professionally? Thanks
Ooo exposure meter that’s nice. Coming from iPhone so I’m intimidated but you made it seem easy and that part is like the iPhone.
Your videos are always very interesting
....Thank you for uploading nice one.
..
Sangat bermanfaat sekali
Good stuff! I like to set my shutter speed on the lockable dial so it never gets bumped!
Barang yang sangat bagus
I would say this might be the best setting for you but not for anyone. You should probably explain why you choose those setting so the audience can choose what's best for them.
Best video out
I'm a new creator. I appreciate this short simple video. I'm African-American and the white balance settings had everyone looking a little orange so I lowered it. But everything else seemed nice. I didn't add magenta. I might try that later.
Just put white balance in auto. He has some funny settings. But auto white balance is good enough
Awesome RUclips video! Enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for sharing these details.
would you recommend these settings for recording on obs and editing/exporting out of adobe premiere?
tnaks
Hi there! loving your video. The explanations on each part are short, and easy to understand which I appreciate a lot. I do have some questions. Are the settings suitable for outdoor recordings too? and If I don't want any blurry backgrounds (because the area that I want to focus is mostly on a site and not on a person), how do I set the aperture? do I just go max and live with some blurry or there's a way to completely remove the blurry-ness. Thank you in advance for reaching out back to me :D
Think Media nice video tell is it possible to have when recording, 1 video files instead of many, yes when I record on my camera it gives me many clips to put together, what I want is one video file it is possible ??
Hi I have question about the focus setup in cooking videos what Your opinion which is the best?
I've seen a few negative comments on here about using 8 bit, but I thought the best way to see what your settings give *me* is to try it. I set everything up the way you did and honestly, for my needs I'm more than happy with the results. It's usable out of camera footage that I'm pleased with. I did find for my skin tone that the saturation needs knocking down a touch though. Can the A7iV produce better footage using the 10 bit and Slog3 etc? I'm sure it can - I've seen enough excellent footage on RUclips to know that.
But the real question for me right now is "Can *I* produce better footage using 10 bit, Slog3 and a ton of colour grading/correction?". The answer is no, I can't. I don't have the skill level to do that and don't really want to spend huge amounts of time learning how to. What I really want is something usable straight out of camera.
For the experts making fun of this tutorial, good for you. For everyone else who wants pleasant video without too much hassle, at least try this and see if you like it. You might be pleasantly surprised, as I was.
Then buy a7c. You have new color science with 8bit
@@RafalGendarz Why would I buy that, when I have the A7iv and I'm getting results I'm happy with? I'm not really looking for absolute perfection for my uses. The results I get copying what they've done here are good enough for my needs.
@@aminmotin you will get better results when you color grade even lightly, but if you are happy with worse what to do
@@RafalGendarz Worse is in the eye of the beholder. "Better results" is not what *you* think is better, it's what the user or intended viewer thinks. If you truly believe that yours is the only opinion that counts (highly likely, given your replies) then of course you're entitled to that level of self-delusion. I'm happy with my own opinion of what I want for myself and don't feel the need to try to force my opinions on others. You might try that sometime - it's a very liberating experience.
But thank you for your subtly snide reply to my previous comment. You continue doing you and I'll continue doing me.
@@aminmotin sure you can shoot in 360 resolution too but people were waiting for this camera as it is the a7siii sensor with the 10-bit magic in much cheaper body, and now this video taking that away is bit.. you can see how many people reacted
Might as well shoot HS 10bit if file sizes are a problem.
OMG!! I needed this video sooooo bad! Thanks a million! Very easy to follow! The only thing is now that I've got the crispy settings locked in, it says that it cannot record in this recording setting. It's asking me to switch to a memory card higher than SDXC U3/V30 or a memory card higher than CFexpress VPG200, or change the record setting! I currently have a brand new 128gb Sandisk. So what other settings can you recommend, if any?
To my knowledge, you'll need to get a V50, V60 or V90 fo the higher settings.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not seeing the same "Audio Level" menu on my A7 IV, and while my mic is connected at least I'm not seeing any movement or detection and I can't set anything to be sensitive above -12 db, it stays at -40db
Do you have a video for photos im new to this and im going to be taking pictures of my sons soccer games i have sony a7iv with a sony g 70-350mm lens or any tips how to set up to get god pictures
Would all these settings do well for night shoots?
I'm trying to set up my new A7IV to film 4K videos in 30fps and 60fps.
In Shooting-Image Quality-File Format, I've picked XAVC S 4K, and in Movie Settings-Rec Frame Rate, I can only see 25p and 50p options. And if i change to XAVC HS 4k then movie settings error popup says cant change when set to pal ... what can i do
Can you guys do a Sony FX3 camera settings tutorial please
How do I do 30fps to match gopro?
Wheather a74 has Full Operatable touch screen ?? Or Buttons
And what brand and type of camera did you use to record yourself?
what is the lens used on that camera during the intro?
Camera yang sangat luar biasa
useful sony setting up video.
They trained him SUPER well with the eye brow raises.
Awesome thank you for sharing
I am getting this when trying to trigger my camera with the Sony Camera App and Monitor + "movie record starts with movie shoot button still image shoot is invalid" every time I try to press record from Monitor + app and the Sony app does nothing when I click the start record button on the app? Can anyone please tell me why this happens? Sony A7IV in movie shooting dial? It is like the triggers on The Sony app and Monitor + record buttons are acting like photo triggers nd not movie record? Help please!! Thanks
My guy really just recommended shooting 8 bit on a camera that can shoot 10 bit...
😂right
Can you do a video on how to start on social media ,like tiktok , RUclips , Instagram ?? I Been watching your video fór a long time. And if help a lot ❤
Saya juga sudah menontonnya dengan full durasi
Hi, why did you put the record frame rate at 24p not 60p?
❤
Thank you very much
👌
Question for you? I have a v30 memory card and tried shooting in 10bit but my video came out choppy is this the reason why?
You need a V90 card
Why does my camera keep reverting back to the stock settings?
"Feel free to slow down this Video, using the settings on the RUclips video!"
I see what you're doing here, increasing the AVD. Great Idea for this kind of Video. I am curious how it will work out! 🤩
👍
Sir ❤🙏
How change the language?
I bought the camera from Japan but inside the camera there is no language other than Japanese so please help me how can I change from Japanese to English
Recently shot video for the first time on my a7iv and it came out like absolute dogshit. Now I’m here looking at RUclips tutorials
i need your help can you help me
4:2:0 8-bit WTF? It is downgrading it to a7-3 this way 👎
haha i thought the same thing
Definitely agree
What should I do instead? Thanks
So you mean we are not getting right setting😢
@@fracasso15464:2:2 10 bit.
Video bitrate is in megaBITS, not megaBYTES.
Guys can you make tutorial and best settings for ZV-E1?
0:20 he said slow it down, meanwhile i be watching on 1.75x xD
ok
Am I living in the twilight zone where I'm the only one who shoots everything log and use luts and profiles?
Amazing information! Keep up the great work.- Charles
I though xavc si was the highest quality?
I will wait for your reply please reply me thank you
Salam saya dari indonesia izin bersahabat dengan anda
Hi how are you sir and what is your name
Hai juga
💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕
I came to see the best settings for video and he teach me to choose 8bit while i just upgraded from A7III to A7IV rofl. No dislike but i'm leaving at 1:36 lol
What’s the difference really
Who is buying the a7iv and not doing all that much color grading? Everyone should shoot in 10 bit, just saying.
Honestly, I'm not doing color grading yet, new in general and decided to start with something I know is "nice".
Me!
I hope lol. I hear Sony is pretty good with color right out of the box.
@@JamesWeechExactly I’m pretty sure new creators is who this channel is for lol
@@switchunboxing Yeah man they finally got it right!
Why didnt you show us the slow down button , wasted time searching 4 it
So you got an A7IV and decided not to use what this camera can potentially offer but instead shoot at A7III quality? Really?
Nothing about slow motion or time lapse.
According to think media the BEST SETTINGS FOR VIDEO IS:
4k video, 4:2:0 8 Bit... LMAO
I think he is saying the best general settings for a beginner. Not the best image quality. Most people watching this will be shooting video for smaller screens and want to do as little editing as possible. There are plenty of videos for more advance settings.
Eeehm okay - now what ?
Alle settings dialed in. How do I start and stop ? With shutter botton or the red botton on top ? Had my a7iv for a year and NEVER once shot any video 🤦♂🤣
ISO 100 is the worst way
Way too fast were working with a new cam
If you dont wanna use 4:2:2 10bit because of what ever reason, then dont by the 7 iv, rather by a 7 iii. Also the video said best settings, but if you dont use the 4:2:2 10bit the you are already out foe best footage….
Man y’all really don’t know what you’re doing you’re not using any of the features this camera gives you
They’re keeping it simple for the noobs and I think their shots look nice
doesnt this allow to shoot in 120 FRAMES ?
