Glad a bit of rain didn’t get in the way of your fun! A shame that the windscreen wiper didn’t work! Reminds me of the time I was a scout on the Norfolk broads and it snowed heavily and we had to “volunteer” to be the windscreen wiper with a brush!

I've really enjoyed this six part journey down the Thames on Eds' boat the Pipedream. I've been on my sisters boat and on a fabulous canal boat belonging to a dear friend, each boat trip was such a joy and an experience I'll remember for my lifetime. The early morning mist in this episode is my absolutely favourite part of all, just exquisitely beautifully filmed and the music was the icing on the cake thank you Richard and Julia for taking time to share your trip With best wishes Julie
Your boat your reminded me how much more space a less restrictive “loading gauge” gives you when compared to a narrow boat. As much as I love the canals , I do wish that many of them had been built to accept wide beams! (It’s the height as well for someone who is 6ft 2!)
Richard you two should come to Alaska for a look around. Stay away from the tours if you do...they're all run by outsiders and you'll rarely meet an Alaskan. I can help you plan if you decide to come. Thanks for the wonderful journeys Gary in Alaska
What a wonderful series this has been, congratulations to the two of you. Again, some wonderful drone shots. A well-constructed series. My wife and I have had some wonderful canal holidays over the years, on the Kennet and Avon, Llangollen and Breacon canals, and if we both can get sorted out medically by next year, we will be off again. As for the lovey-dovey stuff, Wonderful. I have been in love with my wife fore over 48 years and I'm more in love with her now than I have ever been.
Oh I'm going to miss cruising with you two on the waterways, the beautiful scenery, the lovely music and most of all the canoodling which always makes me smile. I love seeing people happy and at peace and being on the water always seems to have that effect. I'm hoping you do find that perfect boat one day.

I’m quite sad that’s ended myself, what a fantastic time away. The drone footage at the beginning was outstanding, it reminded me of travelling from Woking to Horsham for a few years, some morning coming over the top of Newlands Corner, seeing low fog engulfing Shere and area, never got any less magical each time. I loved the ending recap too. And again, the editing/ music was amazing. Hats Off to Ed.

When I worked part time at a marina people were always asking what would be a good boat for them. The owner always told them ask everyone here about their boats and what they liked and didn't like about them. He also said you should ask them if they had a boat before the one they own now, and if they did, why they decided to sell it on. The answer can be very informative! The same thing applies to anything if you think about it, houses, cars Rvs, computers etc. Boaters, like RVers and motorcyclists love to talk about their "babies" and are always happy to talk to people interested in joining them. Let's face it, your boat trip is probably the best advertisement for boating ever and the boating industry should pay you for these videos!

Have just resubscribe to your channel after taking a break. Looked back at your recent videos and saw the Thames series. Definitely going to give these a go as it will take me back to 1985 when myself and 3 other uni mates hired a narrowboat on the Thames for a week. We started at Abingdon and got as far as Windsor, I seem to remember. I still don't know how 4 student blokes managed to hire the boat in the first place, perhaps Hoseasons or whoever were more lax back in the day! Anyway I'm looking forward to watching the videos, thanks in advance Richard.
Just binge watched the first 5 episodes, got this last episode to watch another time. Very enjoyable indeed, excellently put together. We must have been motoring along to get to Windsor and back, and I remember wishing we had gone for a cruiser because they continually passed us on our way to London. Got us into trouble a couple of times with the river police as we tried to keep up! Remember mooring up at Henley and Maidenhead on the way. Have you read or watched 3 men in a boat, I seem to remember they did the trip the other way round? Anyway excellent vlogs and since I last subscribed you and the lovely Julia seem to have got closer!
Very sad the river journey has now ended, but so very enjoyable and lovely calm viewing for the evening! I loved every minute and so impressed with how well you both adapted to river living. Do hope you eventually get a boat of your own for more future adventures!
Before commiting to a river boat try sailing try Poole in dorset I use to sail there when are you going to blandford forum a gergian town my home town I now live I south Africa and miss the history of Britain and enjoy your bloogs although I argue with you on several points all the best to you and Julia Dennis pike
Apart from being able to cruise on narrow canals, an advantage of a narrow boat on the Thames, is the ability to slip in alongside wide hire boats in a busy lock and they can get busy in the summer.
really loving the vlogs you two are putting out just now, you really bounce off each other fabulously, obviously making one another very happy😊 I love boating life, have a small cruiser on the Lancaster, which was second choice to being a liveaboard on a nb. I hope you realise your dream of owning a boat of your own x

Narrowboats have increased a lot in price, so fiberglass boats might be cheaper.
They most certainly are at the cheaper end of the market. You can pick up an old one in okay nick from about 2 to 4 grand.
