I've only recently started watching your channel but sadly knew I would get to this video. You could tell Dillon had the best life ever and loved every moment of the life you gave him. And also how much he loved his two dads. Rest in peace, Dillon.
Hey, Guys! ANOTHER beautiful vlog...and don't let Shaun intimidate you, Colin! You'd look FABULOUS kitted out as a Morris Dancer...and you'd do a fine job of the footwork, too, I'm sure! (But we'll probably never know, will we? Oh well, I can dream, can't I?). Meanwhile, I hope you're continuing to heal from Dillon's passing, and taking comfort from the wonderful memories of him, and his adventures with you, aboard Silver Fox! All the best to you and looking forward to your next installment. LOTS of love, and loving thoughts... J.
Greetings from the Hudson River in upstate New York. Deeply saddened to hear about Dillon. What a fine and handsome gent he was as well as an able boater. Since my schnauzer, Millicent and I sail the waters of NY Harbor, Long Island Sound, out into the Atlantic, and the length of the Hudson River alone together in our 1936 cruiser, I know well what a hurtful loss this is for the two of you and your life on the water. Millicent and I send our heartfelt affection eastward across the Pond in the hope that the kind remembrances of your beloved Dillon will become sweeter and more gentle in the years to come. Dan Fannon New Hamburg, NY
Sorry to hear about Dillon. I'm a pet lover and my pets have been my best friends all of my 54 years on this earth. The one thing that is hard to see at the time of grieving is that another will come along to take their places and will be just as special. There are many wonderful animals out there, it's people that are arseholes!
Hearing about Dillon is heartbreaking. The fact is he had an ideal life for a Springer, water, full time family and new sniffing everywhere he went! Goodbye to a sweet dog, I imagine you two had a lot of suffering at his loss. I send my blessings to you❤️💔❤️
Dillons last year or so being on Silver Fox, rather than stuck in a house whilst you were working, must have been a revelation for him, the great outdoors, fields to run about in and all the wildlife to take in. Oh and also able to swim in canals when he missed his footing. He had a good life, well loved not just by yourselves but everybody that saw him here on your channel. Sweet dreams Dillon.
Wow guys I was not looking forward to this vlog and I am still crying but you did him proud - thank you One day when we can all handle it please do a Dillon compilation like where he fell off the boat into the canal. He was adorable and yes we feel guilty when we look back at the times we growled and told them off but they know we love them . Loved the outtakes very funny and the area seems just idyllic great cruising.
Colin I am so proud of you in this blog. You talked of him so sweetly and did a brilliant job. Shaun, I know you're hurting too, but you feel you have to be strong for Colin. Bless you both.
You're both so brave talking about Dillon on camera. I know how it feels to lose a pet, and best friend and it's not easy. Sending my condolences, have a good adventure!
"You can't say that!" followed by Shaun cracking up. It makes me laugh every single time. Keep saying what ever you are saying Colin. The world needs to smile right now. Though... lady milk and spurting? I almost choked on my Coke on that one.
So sorry for your loss guys. Just remember that you gave him the best life he could have had! I really mean that. You're a lovely couple and you we're such good parents.
Oh no, I am so sorry, Dillon was clearly a much loved, lovely lad. You're right, we should all be more dog, live in the moment, delight in the small things x
I've only been watching your vlogs in recent weeks, and I've been watching them in order from when you launched: having seen the video title as I skim through the list to the next vlog, I kinda knew this video about losing Dillon was coming up. Watching Dillon in the vlogs is definitely bittersweet - and must be vastly more so for yourselves. Many years ago, I lost a pet cat that I'd had for 14 years - a good chunk of my life at that time, as I was in my early 30s then. And all these years later, I still think about her. Our pets make a place in our heart, and even when they physically leave us, they still live on in our heart. I still get emotional about losing Rosie, and you will for years to come about losing Dillon. But it didn't stop me from eventually adopting another cat - in fact my hubby and I now have three cats, despite the inevitability of us outliving them and eventually suffering their loss! And I know you guys now have little Otis - and he looks like such a sweet little soul too. My condolences for Dillon's loss, even if I am a year or more late, as I know you will be still feeling his loss. Cameron
Those darn pets - we love them like children. Always, always another dog or feline who need our love and vice versa. Live in the present. Find joy in each day. We sure do have a lot to learn from them. Dillon was a handsome lad and had a wonderful time on that boat - the envy of his peers! So glad you have Otis - he’s a show stealer.
You know that I have watched your channel for about a year and so enjoyed the pictures of Dillion, what a great dog, I'm really going to miss him. Please keep up the great videos, the two of you are wonderful hosts. Colin your video editing is the best I have seen in any other narrowboat channels. The drone seans overhead and the shots just at the waterline, fantastic, and the perfect music to carry you through every seen. Shaun love your snarky comments, you guys make a great comedy team.
Our dogs love us with such unconditional love that when we lose them we lose a part of our soul. My heart understands your loss. G. From Alberta Canada
We love all of your vlogs and look forward to all of your new adventures! I want to say a huge Thank You to Dillon. My “fur niece” was my first dog and also a Springer. Dillon made me smile watching him and remembering all of the times in the woods and in the water (could not keep her out!) with Jezebel (yup - no joke). Whenever the time is right you will find another dog to love. Sooner than that you will be able to watch other dogs and smile, laugh and remember all of the mischief and charm of Dillon. 💜💜💜
Watched this today and I know it's a year ago but I was so sorry that you lost Dillon and especially so suddenly. People assume that having a dog die naturally is somehow better than having them put to sleep but as someone who has owned and lost a lot of dogs over the years, I know just how truly shocking it is to have a dog die suddenly even if it's from natural causes. Calling 'time' on their life if the need arises is really tough but nowhere near as shocking as you know it's coming even if you dread it. Loads of sympathy but it was lovely to meet Otis at Crick on Friday. Hope he's getting over the excitement!
So sorry to hear about Dillon guys, I have three dogs and have owned dogs all my life so I know how upsetting it is to lose a member of the family, stay strong and enjoy your time with Otis. Love your videos by the way, great couple.
Dreaded this episode, but you edited it well (until the harness and lead came into shot, I was a mess). So sorry for your loss guys, but looking forward to meeting the new deckhand later.
Hi guys, sorry for your loss of Dillon, thx for the video, thx for letting me tag along on your on your boating adventures, I lovemaking a break and watching with a coffee as you cruise and as you say, listen to your” useless load of information that’s mostly wrong” makes me smile as crack up laughing at each other, look forward to your next exciting adventure, cheers 👍
We had a similar thing with Poppy, our Golden Retriever. She just didn't wake up one morning and we learned that she had always had a heart problem. She was a happy soul and a great friend. My heart goes out to you. Dogs are such wonderful creatures.
Just now getting HERE. Oh boy. You are so blessed to have lost your dear Dillion in such a peaceful way, but I'm sure you already know that. He lived a jolly good life thanks to you two sweethearts. HUG. Edit. THIS ENTIRE STRETCH PRETTY PRETTY !!!
Hi guys. Paul and I came across your site all of one week ago - but now (a) we’re hooked and (b) we’ll be naming our rescue dog, Dylan, in honour of your late soul mate. Peter & Paul.
I am so so sorry about the loss of Dillon. He was definitely part of your family and it was such a joy watching how happy he was running along the tow path and that wagging tail. Huge hugs for you both. 🤗🤗 Never easy losing our 4 legged friends!💜💜
Lads, I am so sorry for your loss . It is so horrible when we lose one of our furry kids. Dillon was gorgeous, a typical Springer - all waggy tail and dashing about. He will always be in your hearts. I lost a Germand Shepherd pup to Parvo virus 4 years ago. It is awful. Best wishes to you both ❤.
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your special boy. I am glad that you have all of the footage of Dillon... He was obviously a very loved and happy dog
We will also miss Dillon very much!...such a happy little guy....trotting down the towpath along side the boat...sometimes..plop! "man overboard!"... you guys make me laugh soo much even at times like this ... Hugs to you both!
Am binge watching your videos and love all the historical background. seriously I LOVE history AND narrowboats. i must admit though, I cried and cried over Dylan. I am so sorry for your loss. i can see u have recently bought another little adorable fur baby which can only hrlp the healing process. RIP Dylan you little darling.
Was in such utter shock when I saw this last nite. What a dear, sweet loyal boy he was. I shall miss seeing his “off track” running. Always thought that was so cute. Rest In heavenly peace Dylan.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Dillon was a lucky boy, he got to spend the last year of his life, living 24/7 with his favourite people having a grand adventure. Hugs from Canada
So sorry for your loss guys, he was a lovely little guy and I’ve really enjoyed watching him on your travels. There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group! You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and hug him. He licks and kisses your face again and again - and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart
Every time I saw Dillon in your Vlogs I got a smile on my face and my 8-year old allways came to a take a look when Dillon was on. And that was what he'd remember from the Vlog when I'd be talking about your adventures.
Every since I stared watching ur vlogs from the start this is the video I was dreading. I am so sorry for ur loss, from watching many of ur vlogs you gave him an awesome life and he seemed to love ur narrowboat journey. Late hugs from Australia. The rest of the vlog was great, I love the scenery video, the building, ur history lessons, Shaun’s laugh. Awesome video as always
I am so sorry about Dillon! It is so sad and I will miss him, RIP. It is a gift though when you can be with your canine best friend when their time comes. Happy you are back and crushing again! Hang in there.
Got my calendar today Sept 29 in Hamilton Canada. Beautiful. Glad to see Otis is included, then i saw Dillon on the last month. What a nice tribute. i got a lump in my throat looking at him. What a cool dog. My new English Springer in 14 weeks now and driving me nuts with the nipping but he'll grow out of it.................i hope. Beautiful photography. Cheers.
After following you for a few weeks, I realized this video was coming. I also realize this is almost a year old, but I'm watching these in chronological order hoping to one day soon be current. I'm sorry for your loss, and I know that Dillon had a great life. That always wagging tail was proof. I'm glad he went peacefully. Love from Tampa....
I am so sorry to hear of your loss - a great shock. Terrible news, though I am "pleased" he did not suffer. We have an elderly dog and am constantly worried that he will pass soon and we have lost dogs before, so know how traumatic it is for you. People (rightly) think that winters are stressful to the elderly - dogs and humans alike - but the heat of summer, especially with the recent heavy weather and poor air, can also be stressful, no matter how cool one stays. I really am useless at offering condolences but my thoughts are with you; it was obvious how Dylan was happy and you all formed a great unit. Giving him a great life was such a precious gift. Take care now and remember the happy times. Best wishes.
@@FoxesAfloat Hi, thanks for your reply. Sorry to re-reply but that is the one thing with which I disagreed... I have never thought that dogs offer unconditional love. I contend they do, as the rest of us, offer conditional love - conditional upon reciprocity. The fact you told him off sometimes is (generally) an indication of your care and love. Yes, sometimes it would be for his safety; other times for your convenience, maybe - but you did not want to get rid of him; you continued to care for him. Parents tell-off children (and each-other!) - it is all part of living-together and caring for one-another. Do you two never tell each other off? I know we do. So, with respect, what I feel you have not considered is that love you gave Dylan in all sorts of ways - that is why he loved you back (and vice-versa) - just like any love. Only if you were bad keepers and unkind to him, etc could you claim it was unconditional on his part - and clearly that was not so. His love for you, I would argue, was well-deserved - and vice-versa. Don't underestimate your equal part in the relationship. As far as one can tell from television (YT) you are really nice guys (sorry to patronise) and that is what most dogs will respond to. Well done you two and, again, my condolences. All the best for the future, chaps.
Gentlemen, I am so sorry to hear about your beloved Dillon passing. It is so hard because they become like children and it just rips your life apart and the hurt is almost unbearable. I HAVE LOST SEVERAL FUR BABIES AND I KNOW TH HURT INVOLVED AND I WISH YOU BOTH STRENGTH AND LOVE. You are such a breath of fresh air and I follow your blog faithfully. We move on but we never forget the amazing creatures that were in our lives. Consider a new “LITTLE ONE” to bring into your lives with so much love and the new excitement that will happen. You have my prayers, you and both amazing. Sent so sincerely from Doug Adams in Palmdale, California USA.
Dylan had such a sweet face and a lovely temperament. I was especially proud of him when he alerted you to someone trying to get on the boat. I am sorry for your loss. I am sorry for my loss too. I didn't realize I could be so attached. Thank you for the video.
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Dillon was such an amazing dog and I know how much he meant to both of you. Colin and Shaun, my heart goes out to you both..Rest in Peace Dillon , will miss you ❤️❤️❤️
Love watching your channel with my fella and 2 kids (we discovered you through Martin Zero's channel). We started watching from the start and you make us smile in these strange times. My bloke struggles with his mental health, particularly at this time of year. Thank you for helping him see he is not the only one. RIP Dillon, he was a little star x
So very sorry for your loss. You gave Dillon a great life and I'm sure he appreciated it. Best wishes to you both! Thank you for sharing your narrow boat life with us. So fun to watch your vids!
Oh dear, I saw this coming as I am watching everything in order. I debated skipping this one and I hesitate to say anything because for you it was a bit ago but I watched it today. I feel sad. In respect as we say in our church may he rest in peace knowing he was loved!
So sorry to hear about Dylan - he was an absolute gem, just like his two wonderful dads. You gave him a life most dogs could only dream of and he obviously adored you, as you did him. Big hugs to you both xxx
Dillon was such a lively crew mate for yall, he really fit in well. Even though he is no longer with you phisically, he will always be with you in spirit!
We loved Dillon too , so sorry , such a waggy tail, so hard for you both. Loved your moving tribute to him , Colin, is the best way to feel his loss, and is true about how to live in the moment , thank you Dillon
It's so sad about Dillon, and although the pain eases, and you may get another fur baby you never forget them. We have already fallen in love with your adventures and looking forward to seeing others
Oh Dillon. So many laughs and memories, from that time he fell in the canal, his funny sideways run like his wheel alignment needed doing, to watching him spread out across the couch leaving no room for anyone else. he made a lot of people smile and we will miss him. Our thoughts are with you men and we thank you for sharing him with us all. Take care, Greg & Jenny. Arrowtown New Zealand.
My condolences on your loss of man's best friend. You two are great guys and I luv your banter and your humor. Your videos are professional well edited great B roll and excellent sound tracks. You bring a smile to my face and for that I thank you profusely. Keep them comming ...

i to am new to the channel and just got to this spot...he truly lived the life less ordinary and was clearly loved. We should all be so lucky.
Sometimes they die and we never know why but look at all the love you gave him and his fun times on the boat! You gave him all you had!
We did, and we still miss him every single day 💜
He had a loving family with you 2 that is the most important thing but just remember the happy times

Was in such utter shock when I saw this last nite. What a dear, sweet loyal boy he was. I shall miss seeing his “off track” running. Always thought that was so cute. Rest In heavenly peace Dylan.
We still miss him every single day 💜
Dillon was a wonderful dog! We miss them so when they leave us. Blessings to you both.
We miss him every single day 💜
I’m so sorry for your loss. Dillon was a lucky boy, he got to spend the last year of his life, living 24/7 with his favourite people having a grand adventure. Hugs from Canada
Thanks, Cheryl 💜
So sorry for your loss guys, he was a lovely little guy and I’ve really enjoyed watching him on your travels.
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.
There is only one thing missing,
they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches! The ears are up!
The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him in your arms and hug him.
He licks and kisses your face again and again -
and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting
pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart
💜
Every time I saw Dillon in your Vlogs I got a smile on my face and my 8-year old allways came to a take a look when Dillon was on. And that was what he'd remember from the Vlog when I'd be talking about your adventures.
Awww! We still miss him every single day 💜
Every since I stared watching ur vlogs from the start this is the video I was dreading.
Thanks, Taz. We still miss him every single day 💜
This is heartbreaking. He had such an amazing life with you. He will be missed by all his fans ♥️

Hehe! Yeah, they grow out of it after a few months. xxx
❤️💜❤️💜 Thank you for sharing Dillon with us on your journey xxx

After following you for a few weeks, I realized this video was coming. I also realize this is almost a year old, but I'm watching these in chronological order hoping to one day soon be current.
I'm sorry for your loss, and I know that Dillon had a great life. That always wagging tail was proof.
I'm glad he went peacefully.
Love from Tampa....
Thanks, Carolyn. We miss him every day 💜
So sorry guys he was a lovely day and he had a lovely family xxxxx
He did 💜
I am so sorry to hear of your loss - a great shock.
It's tough to go through the grieving but totally worth the years of unconditional love they give you 💜
@@FoxesAfloat Hi, thanks for your reply.
It's absolutely heartbreaking losing a pet, they're like family 💜
We miss him every single day 💜
You gave Dylan a very happy life, now you are doing the same for beautiful Otis, bless you all.
