My brother is a pilot in Air India His passion from young age came true. He is the first pilot in our family. Struggle was hard for lower middle class family but dreams do come true. Bow down to all those great minds to be able to create such opportunities.
I had travelled Air India years back. Some of the front office staff were incompetent in processing changes to reservations and/or making a reservation with extra stops. They had to turn to their colleagues to assist them in reservation and/or changes. I had experienced this quite a few times including at their head quarters on Narim Point, Bombay. One would wonder how some of their clarical, ground and in flight staff got screened and recruited. Free air travel through political connections adds to losses. Give Tata some time and huge changes in management and staff would be seen resulting in Air India reverting to profit making and even becoming a comparable air lines to the leading ones
As an employee of one of the companies of Tata Group, it was a proud moment for me. I've always regarded Tatas as the best industrialists of India because they do a lot for the growth & development of the country, sometimes for free, and act as the representatives of India on global platforms. That's why I declined better job offers and joined the Tata group because by working here I feel like I'm serving my country ❤️🇮🇳

The most difficult quality is to make the right decision. Because you can be quick, you can be strong, you can jump incredibly, you can have the best shots and you can be able to score goals from 50 yards, but if you don't know when to shoot, when to run or when to jump, you're lost.
To make quality decisions u need qualified skilled people, government sector employees are less paid than pvt sectors so most people chose pvt sectors over government sectors, and also government sectors has reservation in jobs, promotion etc, so whatever the reason, reservation is r8 or wrong that's a different story but when u give opportunity to someone scored way less than someone not getting that opportunity despite having a way good marks and score that is compromise with talent impo. Now again if reservation r8 or wrong that's a different story a debatable topic but in this case i am just pointing out it's flaws.

Good explanation. Though privatization comes with its negative points, giving AirIndia back to Tatas is a good decision because JRD has left behind a fine legacy of policy making. Industrialists who care for the people and want to ensure that whatever they do benefits the country and not only for self profit as is the case with other businessmen who only work for their self interest. I think the nation too is happy that the Tatas have bid for what was originally their company. Good for the Tatas and good for the Indian citizens.
I believe one of the reason for loss of business is due to the very poor performance from the cabin crew and non punctual flights. It's my personal experience for many years now.

I was working abroad and we hesitated to travel with Air India because often the fights get delayed or get cancelled.. services were poor. But Occasionally we took Air India fights due to heavy pricing of other private airlines. We don't mind if TATA increases the cost of tickets but it should be affordable for common people. Hope Air India will bring back the pride of India..

To make quality decisions u need qualified skilled people, government sector employees are less paid than pvt sectors so most people chose pvt sectors over government sectors, and also government sectors has reservation in jobs, promotion etc, so whatever the reason, reservation is r8 or wrong that's a different story but when u give opportunity to someone scored way less than someone not getting that opportunity despite having a way good marks and score that is compromise with talent impo. Now again if reservation r8 or wrong that's a different story a debatable topic but in this case i am just pointing out it's flaws.

As per me in India, it's makes a huge difference when something is privatized..I have grown up in an environment where if we knew we have to visit a government office of get something done, we had to be ready for delay, face arrogant government officials, corruption, Improper communication , compared to a private organization. Although things are improving but in India still people go for a government job for the facilities and comfort, not because they like that job or want to grow in that field. This has to change.

Air Mauritius as Air India are marred by the same rotten political interference and governance/management culture. As India Today once put it : from Maharajah to Maha Mess Airline! As per me Air India's tickets where cheap and their service too. I was working abroad and we hesitated to travel with Air India because often the fights get delayed or get cancelled.. services were poor. But Occasionally we took Air India fights due to heavy pricing of other private airlines. We don't mind if TATA increases the cost of tickets but it should be affordable for common people. Hope Air India will bring back the pride of India..
