I recall her saying that Rod Stewart never wanted to rehearse, though she herself rehearses a lot. To me, his performance seems like a read-the-teleprompter-and-wing-it situation. He didn't know how to phrase the lyrics--some of that could seem like improvisation but for the most part, it was clear he didn't really know the melody. The inching-her-knickers down pantomime (forgive the half-pun) was pretty funny, and I loved how she was cracking up for the remainder of the song.

Saw Rod in concert in his "If you think I'm Sexy" days...almost 40 years ago, gulp! Where does time go!!?? I'm 55, and while I look older than I did and have more aches and pains, I still feel so young on the inside and music can still move me in the same way. I'm sure Rod, Stevie and other older rockers we never thought would be rocking on in 2016 still feel young at heart too. And I'm so glad they've continued to sing their old songs as well as make new music. With Stevie more than anyone, she really honours all those great songs she wrote. As she sings them, you can tell she still loves her music. I think it's because she's always written from the heart and so the words still resonate for her although the meaning attached to them may have changed and been added to throughout the years.
