Great to see the whole setup running, Andy, with all the swatches, catches, mats and grilles, long tom yum, Trom4... accessible gravel bars on bedrock sluice-gates, payable gravel banks, we park near creek bridges, go walkies for a look-see, the fishing rod or camera slung are but decoys, there's no rod or tripod in there, detector, spades and headphones!😊

It good to give it a run, but I had panned that spot and a high banker had a run as well. So just the tail end of the pay streak. My creek there is no way I could do it. No gravel bars there just boulders! 😂
Thanks for stopping by, cheers Andy

A lot of work went into that trommel, I see it's mark IV. did you make it as you went, or planned on paper first?
    Either way it works well.
I've spent 3 days at a spot, and got way less than you did, so that's great.

@@rustypanels1917 no real plans, it was based on the "clay busting bucket trommel" by Alan Robinson from the USA. I just modified it to suit my application. He had a claim, and almost permantly set up. Plus it needs to be made to suit whatever bucket you can get, it has been constantly evolving. Thats the way its done modify, change and adapt. @@andypandyAU.6669 You might wanna pan out each section of your long tom separately.
You might find 2 of the 3 sections have no gold in them , or maybe a speck or two
Why carry heavy as all fuck 500 miles for 1 or 2 specks.
Just take a single sluice and take long tom when your vehicle is nearby - or just not a all.
      Here's a tip I just thought of.
Use a metre of sluice for every hour of run without a cleanup.
So if you cleaning up every half hour , 1/2 a metre of sluice is plenty.
That long tom should be fed all day without a cleanup or dont bother using it.
