  • I'll be very, very surprised if somehow this is your first exposure to this pedal. It's everywhere! I guess it's particularly friendly on social media because it's all about exploring moments of creativity. But what goes into those moments? What happens before and after that moment that's shared?

"Can we play at the playground?! Can we?! 😡❔ (Yes, in the playground of our musical minds, only limited by our imagination and our understanding of the functionality of our equipment).

I knew I should have had you write the voiceovers for this one! That kind of sums it up perfectly....can we go to the playground? Where all the equipment is that helps encourage play and exploration? I mean, we're already in the woods though where play is boundless and formless. But yeah, I guess a playground would make that easier!

Thanks a lot! Obviously playing with the pedal was pure fun that was over too soon... but editing together all the clips and adding my take was quite the challenge for real so I'm glad to see so many enjoy the outcome

More music journals!! Loved seeing the evolution of the jams and hearing your ultimate conclusion. Particularly enjoyed the KO jams with it. And also everything sounded very 2EB, which is a testament to your ability to make your gear work for you. It's cool that even when a workflow is unfamiliar/new, you naturally end up making things that sound like they belong in any of your typical jams.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, this format is kind of comfy because it doesn't really promise anything. Just shows what transpired during my time with the pedal. One of my kids actually got a Blipbox synth for Christmas and I'm considering doing a month with it. 🤣
Also that last point you made was big on my mind but I don't think I ended up expressing it in the video. My hope was that I'd end up "Blooping my own sounds rather than getting Blooped by it". Thanks so much for watching!

Ok so the Google suggested auto-reply for this was "Ok, thanks!" But I think when someone calls your video the 'perfect YT video' a bigger response is needed! THANK YOU. I've never worked with so many video clips before and I'm glad to hear that positive reaction!

Splendid - What a superbly crafted essay and hymn to sound exploration!

I have watched hundreds of videos on the blooper and this has to be the most captivating and inspirational musical noodling I’ve seen yet with it !!! You’ve given the demonstration i was after! Nothing short of AMAZING:)😊

    • @Two-Eyed_Boy
      @Two-Eyed_Boy  8 месяцев назад +1

Thanks so much for your comment, that definitely made my day! Yeah, I've also watched tons of videos on the Blooper and never quite got the impression that it's a "you'll get it as soon as you try it" kind of experience until I got to try it myself. 🤣 I also think the kind of stuff that Knobs pulls off with it became so ubiquitous to pedal's vibe that you tend to hear it everywhere. Clean, jangly guitar sounds killer through it but it but so does just about anything else you feed it!

Yeah this trickle definitely comes way after the initial hype wave, doesn't it? The pitch shifting and time shifting stuff makes everything sound so good. I may eventually share longer clips of each jam. Some go in 3 or 4 different directions just playing with a sound. 😁

How else can I drop the mic when so much of what I do is instrumental? 🤣 Hey man, great to hear from you and thanks for watching! It really was fun. It takes the effort out of music making - in that every idea, big or small, has potential for greatness with enough tinkering.

Well I actually count this as a big win that I got to introduce you to the Blooper! If it wasn't clear (and from what I learned) it's essentially a looper pedal that allows you to cycle through layers of loops as they accumulate. It also has two separate banks of time stretching/pitch shifting effects that can be punched in and added into the timeline. Those were words I couldn't put together on day 1. 🤣

Fascinating. Love the pedalboard flex at 1:40 😅 It's lovely with the acoustic guitar. It does seem to have a very unique vibe. Also love how you've shot that stuff through the broken glass. Great review! Will you keep it?

I wish I could, but if I'm being honest, I don't need another sampling gadget right now! Definitely taking away the inspiration and some of the workflow ideas the Blooper introduced, and applying it to the stuff I've already got!

Aye. You got it. I know I commented on some of your pedal choices before but that boss reverb, the carbon copy, and that 250 are rad. I always had an interest in this chase bliss stuff.
Also love the video format and quality. Had I been able to continue what I was doing once I got in my new house I would of made similar video that actually had a light source.
The acoustic with the contact mic really had an interesting sound with the pedal. I have a box of piezos that I use for different things. I bought a 40 dollar acoustic I was turning into a hollow body electric guitar that would of been my next video and that thing is going to have two contact mics. One functioning as a normal pickup and the other I have attached to an isd1820 lofi sampler/looper. The idea was I could create percussion sounds with the looper, change the speed, and play over it. I'm still slowly working on this and dunno if I'll ever finish it. Kind of making a tape for my daughter so she know who the hell I really was so that's my main priority. But yeah I think I used contact mics in my harps and stuff and should be cool in that acoustic project if I ever finish it.
This video I think is one of your best man.

I really appreciate your saying that! This has been living in my head since I started trying out the pedal back in the fall so I'm glad it came together and I could finally skate it. Unfortunately (or fortunately) this was a loaned pedal so not something I'll have going forward. It was well worth checking out and I'm glad I could share the vibe.
