@@mjxx blooper was closest- i got confused by the interface but loved the sound (dl4 looper for life ). Mood v1 was a blast but impractical out of my house but the v2 seems to make it way more practical. But missing that beautiful creme-cicle color. This is one of the more practical things they’ve released. I’ll def be buying - I buy everything they do. It just challenges my youthful ambition with reality that learning new shit is harder when you’ve got a day job, kids, yard work etc.
@@mjxx if chase bliss made a big ole blooper with 4 foot switches, a bit smaller than dl4 with identical workflow but instead of delays a smorgasbord of their best filters, lofi sounds,, weirdo-tron settings,, but identical ui to the dl4 more or less, they could command $800-1200 and no problem. Dudes like me see “same workflow as dl4- wacky best of chase bliss presets in the middle” id be on that at any price point. The dl-4 looper is the way loopers should work- gold standard. (Rc505 is great too but not for feet). Currently using a volante for this role. I’d love that slot to be a looper from their creative minds.
I hope there will be more demo videos of this in the coming days! It looks awesome so far, you guys always make cool stuff.

I'm just stunned by how Tom managed to keep track of all the capabilities. It must have been like trying to pack vacation suitcases for a family of 12. Most pedals have a single function and no matter how many bells and whistles are contained, they are still focused on optimizing or tweaking that specific function. But this has more destinations and personalities than Robin Williams on speed.
It's like Radiohead in a pedal... amazing. I know what I'm asking Santa for Christmas!

I love the mwfx judder glitchyness, but it has quirks and limitations. This seems to be what I wish the judder did.
Really into the drone and glitch capabilities of this, reminiscent of some of the Pladask stuff

Not only is Onward fun in and of itself, but it seems like it can sub for a bunch of other pedals/effects as well: vibrato, tremolo, bitcrusher, envelope shaper, and more. NIcely done, gang! That Cooper is one smart dog. He's earned every one of those white hairs honestly. But after all that coding, no wonder he looks tired.

I would say if you tried to use it for standard effects like vibrato you would have a hard time aha I definitely could be wrong tho, aha

For sure, that’s just what I was seeing from the video, it would be handy to use those effects separately, but it doesn’t look like it from this video!

Very nice. Will this be the ultimate glitch/ stutter I've been longing for, for ages? A combination of mini glitch, aurora, mandala, judder, revolver, the stutter mode of ottobit jr and even more? I think it is. Fingers crossed.
Today I was looking at my pedal board thinking “man I wish I could have just one more cool chase bliss effect to pair with my mood”. Cue you guys releasing a reinvention of one of my favorite cooper fx pedals of all time. Welp…take my money 😂

For those of us in the (MSP) know, brilliant usage of the Happy Apple there Chase Bliss!
Combine this with Habit and you could turn a single note into an endless symphony of knob twisting madness. I love it! As an avid user of freeze pedals this is right up my alley.
As a side note: I used to work at a studio with that same exact Apple. It would mock us as we tried to finish records - with its innocent smirk and hauntingly giddy bells. Gives me the creeps…
I will park it next to my MOOD Mk 1 to begin with, but have a feeling it will soon end up either at beginning (where Gamechanger PLUS pedal currently lives) or the end (after Neunaber Illumine rests). Seriously though, I could see a very condensed pedal board with Onward, a fuzz and maybe just a volume for my 'style' of playing...
That apple toy has a bell inside. Nostalgic. I used to have that back in the 80's

Looking forward to this... Mood mk1 wasn't my piece of cake, but this Onward reminds me of some pedals I own and love a lot mashed together: MASF Raptio, Pladask Bakfram and EHX Superego!
reminds me of some of the FX in the CopperFX 'Arcades'. Especially that 'glitch' or 'broken CD' sound, Animal Collective in a box!

Fun stuff, reminds me both of things I'd do years ago with a keeley modded DD3 and a DD6, and stuff I've done more recently with some of the granular sampler examples in puredata.

Oh no! Yet another CB pedal to be obsessed with! I already have the MOOD MKII and Habit, along with my ever expanding managerie of other esoteric pedals. There should be some sort of 12 step recovery program for hard core pedal addicts . . . but for now, may have to be feeding my pedal addiction once again soon.
I wonder if grey was chosen, because it's a sampler…

It sounds great although I think it has a lot of overlap for someone who already has the Blooper, Mood MKII and Habit, also, this is the 1st chase bliss pedal where I didn't liked the color or graphic design

the graphic design does not matter when they release 1-2 limited edition variants of all their pedals nowadays
Love chase bliss, I really do, and I love this color way! It’s nice! But damn the missed potential to do something super cool with the og outward colors would’ve been awesome!

I would have preferred if you expanded the functions of the frozen side. Don't take this in a wrong way, but I'm getting tired of those glitchy and error sounds. You could have made the best and most musical drone machine and you missed the opportunity to do it. You have a lot of creativity and technical skills to achieve it.

Mood, Blooper, and Onward are all like Radiohead song climax glitch layer pedals. I have been surprised Ed doesn’t seem to use them.
Very cool! Have you lent this out to anyone to demo? I've been wanting some sort of intelligent freeze effect for a while that could pad when I'm not playing, but stay out of the way when I am. I'd love to hear how it handles that Julian Lage, Bill Frisell, solo guitar, play a bit, let it breathe, play a bit, let it breathe thing.

@ChaseBlissAudio I do not see a dry kill on the dips, does the mix knob go 100% wet with no dry passing through? This is a make or break feature for using it as a send fx! Looks awesome either way.
Holding the left footswitch during power up will toggle Dry Kill Mode on/off

Seriously though, I can't wait to use it with my current favorites (Vector/S-4 and Mother 32) synths. For some reason, I've got a good feeling it'll sit nicely, as end of chain, with a Mother 32 > S-4 > Onward set-up. Can anyone else 'hear' the S-4 with this pedal?

We need to get the pedal boards off the floor! Tommy Bolin had his tape delay on a stand in front of him while playing with the James Gang. His famous intro on Standing In The Rain required him to manipulate the knobs on the delay for the desired effect.
