If you get husbandry earlier it helps your livestock fatten up for when you eventually eat them. It also increases the gather rate for chickens.

@@Widgie weirdly, chickens _do_ count as herdables, _except_ for the purposes of Husbandry.

Thought husbandry also increased huntables gather rate since there isn’t an upgrade for hunt gather rate like there was in the original, which had a picture of 2 wolves and was next to the husbandry upgrade

I think some civs need the upgrades earlier Like Pickaxe for Egypt or Hand axe for Norse since they build a lot with the army and also what kind of build or unit you are going to use most like if I go with centaurs I will get hand axe and if I go with Minotaurs I will go with pickaxe.

Yeah there are of course variations from the general rule, this is mainly for beginners to the game
