Hey Arian, thanks for watching! I agree with you, these cars age very gracefully......they fit right in with brand new models. Best of luck with your FX.
Wow!... I've always loved this car, so of course, I've watched a ton of video reviews of it on virtually anywhere I could, but man, you really sold me on this one, I love your energy and style, yet ironically, this is the smallest channel I ever watched it's review on, an I think it's the vet best Weldon Jonathan , you are doing well and I hope your channel blossoms into something so much greater, cause the millions need to hear you man. Hey Chand G, thanks so much for watching! I don't blame you, these are solid SUVs in terms of reliability and the resale values are relatively low. Mine is still a head turner at 13 years old, looks great. The Q50 is a pretty nice car too though, must be really fun to drive.
I would say generally reliable as long as you don't drive NASCAR style. Not as bulletproof as Toyota, but still above average and repairs won't break the bank. Good luck, William!
I am just coming across this video and enjoying the content. Like you my FX is my weekend cruiser...I purchased mine after my Q45 was totaled. My daily is the G35 sedan. I don't know what it is but these early 2k Infiniti vehicles amaze me..
Hey Rob, thanks so much for watching! Sorry to hear about your Q45, one of my favorite models in history. I like how the Q45 was understated, yet on par with the best in terms of performance and luxury. I have a feeling we'll have our FXs for a long time, still a head turner all these years later and pretty reliable too.
I bought my 07 fx35 with 264k. Now 2 yearsvlater its at 316k. When i bought it the guy used 87. Now it gets 93. Or 91 non ethanol from stewies. I use this as my commuter car 87 miles each way to work 3 round trips a week. Its very comfortable to drive in and the cruise still works. Just had to basic repars like some suspension. Brakes replaced the exhaust from the catback. Lmao it was destroyed by the rust up here in upstate ny.
Wow, you got some great mileage out of your FX35, and riding in luxury too! I agree that it's best to fill it with the high-test gas, I used to alternate between 87 and 93, depending on my budget at the time. No better way to drive to work though, you have comfort and style, plus excellent snow capability. I also had issues with winter rust, no way to avoid it after a while. Wishing you many more miles in your FX35, thanks for watching!
If you still have this car... How is it running now? What kind of repairs have been needed? Can you do another video now four years later? I am looking at buying a low mileage example of this. If you are not able to make another video on this model, thanks again for the video.
Hey PirateStyle, I sold the FX35 but no serious problems while I owned it. Strut replacement was the only major repair, but pretty much any mechanic can work on an Infiniti since it's basically a Nissan. That helps to keep labor down. I still see many beautiful FX35s from this era, you'll find a gem for sure. Best of luck and thanks for watching!
Hey Salah, thanks so much for watching! The 4Runner is more utilitarian while the FX35 is more luxury and performance. Overall, the 4Runner is probably more reliable and maybe cheaper to repair, but they're both great cars overall. Although the FX35 is more fun to drive and I personally like the styling better. Good luck with whatever SUV you choose!
@@JonathanBrowneMenzies Thank you sir, you might be afraid to be attacked by one of the cars enthusiasts for criticizing their favorite, but I understand your point of view, here those two types fall in the same price range for both buying and maintenance, but 4runner is imported by individuas while Infiniti was brought by the official dealer, so more spare parts are available yet expensive in comparison to other choices.
Congratulations on a smart purchase, Ednoxious! I can tell you that you'll never get sick of driving the FX35, it's always exhilarating even after years at the wheel. Gas prices are painful, I try to stay around 60 on the highway (most of the time....LOL) that seems to help. Good luck bro and enjoy the Infiniti!

Hi John I have a 2010 Infiniti fx35 first I will like to as you if or are you aware of if I have to ever change the transmission oil I was told this year and model the transmission oil is not needed to change am at 202456 km which I just bought about 3week but I first started to notice my gear will not go into the 2&3 gear and started to rev the engine so I had to shut it off and start again and it went fine for 30secs then raved up again so I pulled over as at that time the engine service light came on I shut it down again and it finally took me home safe for about 10km no problems. I parked it and drove it the next day no problems until I had a friend come over to check the engine light code that said 6 gear function we cleared the code but really wanted to check the transmission oil but there is no dip stick so at this time am being told to keep driving and see if the engine light comes back on. This car looked to be very well kept according to the car fax it was service by Infiniti a few times but doesn’t tell me of any transmission issues. I am just starting to feel that on a complete stop and when I go to take off it seem to have a slight delay and then goes on to gear I don’t know the history on this vehicle transmission problem I never no of them to have a problem please if you think that it was just that one time bug I happened to have and what do you recommend for me to do any help will help thank you Andrew.
Hey Andrew, sorry you experienced that transmission issue. Hopefully it was just a temporary bug, maybe because the car hadn't been driven in a while and you just had to work out the kinks. I'm personally not familiar with changing the transmission oil, hope someone reading this with expertise can give us some good advice. Scotty Kilmer always recommends treating the transmission gently (slow acceleration) and sometimes these issues won't get any worse. Also, be sure to make use of the emergency brake when parking. Wishing you the best, the FX35 sure is a great car that's always fun to drive. Happy holidays and thanks for watching!

Came here just for this comment!! Never put diff gas types in a luxury car always put the good grade even if u do drive like grampa lol Cant wait to buy mine
@@JonathanBrowneMenzies defiantly should switch to exclusively premium gas. luxury cars aren't meant for cheap gas cause it ruins your engine over time. you'll save more money with cheap gas but you'll have to refill more often.

Not a good vehicle for bringing a family together (personal experience). Not the cars fault although it was bought new, which is probably why a childlike whining sound was coming from the direction of the drivers seat, must be a manufacturer defect. The guilty dead are lucky that the living who should be dead can't give them hell, think about that the next time you act decadent with your lifestyle, only to disregard and condemn (in action) younger generations based on your own cold heartless greedy insecurity. Why are we even alive when some people are oblivious and delusional to the point of everyone else's eventual collapse. I should never trust 'family' ever again. The only thing that's constructive is too dismantle everything that they pretend to stand for. Disappointment in all humans.

Beautiful car but stay away from that 87 gas will make these vq motors knock and not perform well
Hey d, thanks so much for watching! I alternate, a tank of 87 and then a tank of the good stuff. This is a weekend car, I'm not rough on it so I hope it will last a really long time. Now you have me thinking I should make a permanent switch to 93.
I just bought one in China today, 90,000miles for 11 grand
Thanks for watching, Benxin! That's really low mileage for an FX35, you got a great deal. I love the timeless design of the Infiniti FX35, even the older models still look modern. Easy and cheap to maintain and repair as well. Let me know how you like it!
@@JonathanBrowneMenzies Thanks for the reply Jonathan! Absolutely, I'll come back to share the FX35 experience after a while.
I put 89 into mind that is ok.??
Hey ROHan, thanks so much for watching! For sure you're good with 89. 87 is all that's required, but performance will improve with higher octane. Just don't let the horses run too wild LOL
Would you want to test drive an Infiniti I35? My mom has one.
Cool car, how does she like it?
@@JonathanBrowneMenzies Loves it!
he sead tan duck tape
Hey Alberto, thanks so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed the video
Love that vehicle, it's a shame that eat a lot of gasoline
I agree with you, Juan. It's amazing how good the FX35 look, even after 14 years. I try to keep it under 60MPH to maximize fuel efficiency, but it's not easy LOL. Thanks for watching!
