I always felt like Venum’s were for dude that orders his first pair of gloves off amazon, “because they look cool” before he steps into the gym for the first time
Thanks for the review. I just ordered a pair! I only buy gloves that you review. If I don’t like these I’ll try more expensive options. Thanks for helping out the boxing community!
I love my Venum Elites, so ordered a pair of Impacts as backups based on this review. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're making this model anymore, as they have very limited sizes left. Best jump on it if you want some! Thanks as always for the in-depth review, Carlo!
I use them for sparring they are so good and underrated very good padding so you can let your hands fly and won’t do too much damage to your sparring partner
I need a snug fit I have smaller hands will 140z be less snug than the 12 or just add more padding and weight because I would like 14 but if 12 will fit better I want that
If anyone cares... i have been using my 16oz Impacts for about two months on the heavybag and Boxmaster and they already have small rips on the edges of the knuckle area... doesnt look too good for the longetivity. Otherwise really happy with the feel of the gloves eventhough 14oz would have most likely fit me perfectly. And to add im a pretty heavy hitter so the gloves might last alot longer for someone else.
It's that difficult thing with cheaper gloves, great for sparring or mitts, but if you want that boxing match feel at the heavy bag, they break down quick because of the synthetic surface materials giving way and the spongier more protective (especially 16oz) synthetic padding breaks down as well. Bag gloves are durable with their dense padding, and leather ones aren't that expensive to find, but can't get that real feel and can't really go full tilt. I have these Venum Impacts at 16oz as well, I try to preserve them by only using them for light sparring and focus mitts. Thanks for the heads up and confirming my suspicion, that these aren't really meant for heavy bag.
Just found your channel today and really glad I did! Great review!! I’m planning to buy a pair of these soon. If I’m wanting to use these as an all purpose glove (pad work, bag work, and sparring), would you recommend 14 oz or 16 oz with me being 155 lbs?
I had these for a year now and the passing is great the liner on the inside like stretched. Biggest downfall was the Velcro on one glove is really weak now. But they are still a really good glove
Love the reviews and leaning towards these since I can get a pair for $35 regardless of how they look. As a beginner my only question is should I wrap my hands for heavy bag workouts?
Thanks man, and I'm just going to ask since my mind is melting after 20reviews. Which brand/style do you recommend at this price point mainly for heavy bag/pad work?
thinking of picking these up as a replacement i burned through my 10 and 12 oz gloves in 2 years. my question is are these specifically for the heavy bag or is it also good for competition ? thanks for the vids keep up the good work man 🥊
hello, I just came from 12, I weigh 65 kg. the problem is that I feel too much space inside, I can't hold them well and they feel very rigid. because? maybe 12 ounces are not right for me?
The outer synthetic skin on mine peeled off. And the inside thumb part started to rip on one glove from closing the Velcro on the other glove. I've had them for 2 years
I ordered 10oz of these for bag work and I had to cut it open to remove the padding from the palm side so I can make proper fist with this glove.. don't need it since not going to use it in pair work receiving shots..
Hey man, ive been watching your videos recently and i really like your comments and feedback about the gloves. And now i have one concern. i just bought some Venum Impact 16Oz, the brown ones version (seems on images to have a different material finish) . But i was really wondering if it was the best option among the Ringside APEX Flash, Adidas Leather Performer (Heard the stitches are really bad and it will break up apart really soon for a leather glove), or the Everlast Powerlock and Venum Elite. What are your thoughts men? Sparring 2 times per week, heavy bag use is everyday. 6.1 feet / 250 LB
Thanks for the support! Out of all the gloves you mentioned I still prefer these impact gloves over them although I have never tried the “adidas leather performer” gloves.
@@csquaredboxing Thanks men! now feel like i made the right decision lol. Those Adidas, im not sure if it is only for sale here in mexico to be honest. But they cheap for a leather glove, and ive heard Adidas is not so good for boxing gloves.
what do you think about these for kickboxing for cardio..i think i may move to actual boxing after i get in some kind of shape with the kickboxing class
Hey Carlo I am looking at these gloves and they are 50% off but they are only available in 10 oz and as my weight equivalent to 12 oz would you think these would be good at 10 oz for sparring and training possibly . Thank you
Venum elite or Everlast power lock pro leather? I currently have the synthetic power locks and like them but thinking of switching it up or upgrading to the leather ones. I do kickboxing and muay Thai but have always been a loyal everlast fan since box was the first combat sport I did back in Mexico.
csquaredboxing after watching more of your videos now I’ve dismissed those options haha Twins special, hayabusa H5 or R2C c17? They’re all on the same price range so that’s not the deciding factor. And honestly I may try two of the above 3 mentioned unless you recommend something else. I’ve tried traditional Muay Thai gloves and they’re too short on the finger compartment for my liking that’s why I shy away from buying fairtex or yokkao gloves which I’ve tried on. Yokkaos felt better than fairtex IMO and only I’m 5 8’ 150 lbs
I bought them and i tried them yesterday and u need to break them in.My hands was so in pain when i throw my punches just because it is too tight.I bought them in 16 oz but still super tight. Some stiching also got lose after i used them its so fucked up.
Having a hard time choosing my first pair. I'm looking at twins and fighting, these look nice too. Any suggestions? Just looking for good wrist protection for the heavy bag
i want to pick one but im 87 kg 195. and i wanna go with 12oz. bc they are only available for good price 50e. i want them only for bag work what do you think?
Do you think the padding will be as good on the 10oz gloves? Im 14 150 pounds and have a little knuckle issue but nothing serious so i use a lot of hand wraps (up to 8 metres so i need a lighter glove)
Anyone have trouble with the thumb? I ordered these in brown/black and the whole glove is PU material, instead of the mesh underside the camo style has. I don’t know if they just need “breaking in”, but that thick seam that attaches the thumb to the body of the glove is so tight and stiff, it digs into the base of my thumb while I box. I’m literally questioning if I have weird shaped hands lmao. Never had this problem with any other gloves. I have small hands and got 14 oz and otherwise I think they fit great. Slightly roomy in the fingers. I’m going to try a different style of the impact and see if that changes anything.
I have small hands , 4’11 and 77 lbs and I was thorn between the Impact 10oz vs Contender 2.0 10 oz. Which one would you suggest ? Beginner and I will be doing sparring and bag/pad workout. Or should I choose 8oz ?

Hi, i bought a 14oz as its my usual size for my other gloves, my hands fit but its snug and my fingers cant reach the end of the gloves and it’s irritating as its uncomfortable to punch, should have i gotten 16oz instead or i just need to break it in more?
Great review as usual. Quick side question here. Do you think it’s good to have a pair of light gloves ie. 10 oz for mitts and bag work to work speed and technique. I’m 6’1 170lbs and have heard mixed reviews on if lighter gloves are beneficial. Would love your insight as I’m leaning toward getting some custom 10oz from TopBoxer.
Thanks brother, appreciate the support. As far as light gloves for mitts and bag work, I definitely love using them. It helps with accuracy, and the feel of your knuckles/ pop/ feedback is better than a standard training glove. As far as the benefits, a lot of people say using 16 ounce is better for conditioning because of the weight of the glove, which may be true to an extent, but not enough that it will make a difference when you punch someone. If you're doing proper training, strength and conditioning, and your fundamentals/ mechanics are on point, then its pretty negligible. The only time you are really required to use larger gloves is obviously for sparring. But for mitts and bags, i enjoy using both smaller and larger gloves, it just depends on what I'm working on that day.
