I've been watching a bunch of reactions and I'm surprised how many people never heard of taeyang or bigbang. I thought everyone would know at least a couple of songs. They're so influential and shaped kpop so much even BTS are VIP's. I assumed the army knew about them.
literally! in order to appreciate BTS's success I think its important to acknowledge how influential and popular Bigbang was/still are!
Most listeners of BTS well most army’s aren’t kpop fans and a lot of persons don’t get it or don’t want to accept that we only listen to BTS. I don’t know anything about kpop and I’m not interested honestly I’m just here for BTS and anything they put out I’ll listen to .
Probably because BTS never mentioned Bigbang since 2013. Most Kpop fans and ARMYs are like into Kpop scene since 2019-20. Maybe that's why. Bigbang never made a grand comeback going all out since 2016.

Look I had a big crush on Taeyang before discovering BTS . Like all his solo projects are gold and he looks like a nice hardworking and unproblematic person. I remember hearing that Jimin was a big fan of him and to be honest 2013 to 2015 Jimin energy vibe reminds me of taeyang a lot.

For those who don't know second generation K-pop, Taeyang is from revolutionary group Bigbang who was given the tag of king of Kpop back in late 2000s and early 2010s and Jimin grew up idolizing Taeyang as he was one of the greatest vocal soloist back then even as a band member and main dancer of Big bang. Also Jungkook is a huge fan of G dragon, the most popular second generation Kpop artist and leader of Bigbang. It would crash the internet if G dragon and JK collab like Taeyang and Jimin did.
Taeyang has always been Jimin Idol. So yo have them both on a song together was great. Taeyang is known as the RnB legend of Korea, as well as 1 of the Kings of Kpop. He can do it all. Suggest you watch taeyangs, wedding dress and Ringa Linga songs from 2012 and then his songs from his White Night album in 2017 which are so Iconic too and you'll see why Jimin has looked up to him Taeyang has a Tattoo across just shoulder for his love of God.
