This song is the business! I don't even know what more to say about it at this point. For real, because it's just all kinds of grown and sexy which is exactly what I have wanted from Jimin's solo stuff. It's hot, it's funky, it's, it's, it's fire for real! This collab for Jimin must be a dream come true. Singing and dancing with his own Idol.
FACTS
I am fairly new to Kpop and started with BTS. I have been working on expanding my playlist to include more artists/groups but had not made it to Big Bang or Taeyang yet. I am so freaking excited for this collab, not just because I adore Jimin but because I was introduced to Taeyang. Both are legends. I cant wait to see more of Taeyang's work. This was absolutely amazing! The killed it!

I have definitely been waiting to watch your reaction to VIBE... What took you so long my friend? It is definitely a Bop!!! Collaboration of the decade for me because it exceeded expectations from the Michael tribute to just "greatness' of both Taeyang and Jimin. I have watched this several times and still in shock. I've been waiting for your reaction since this song released and you did not disappoint! Your genuine enthusiasm and excitement for Jimin and Taeyang both made me love this song more than I already did. I am so looking forward to the BTS Bombs that are likely going to be released to show the behind the scenes, just like they did for Left and Right, and That That collabs. I also thing Taeyang is going to be the next guest on Suga's drinking show, so that should be fun! I don't know Taeyang at all, other than to know he is a big inspiration to many BTS members.

Taeyang (age 34) was/is a member of the group Big Bang, 2nd generation in K-Pop and they had the top spot on lock down until they went into the military. Taeyang was called the "Chris Brown" and the "Neo" of the K-Pop world. If you look at Jimin in his early days, when asked who was his favorite idol, he always said "Taeyang of Big Bang". There is also footage of Jimin dancing to several of Taeyang's songs. So for Jimin this is an opportunity for him to work with someone that he has looked up to for most of his life. Apparently, Taeyang wanted Jimin to treat him like a friend (dropping the honorific) when they finally met, however, Jimin just could not do it because of his level of respect for Taeyang as an artist and senior. (Check out Taeyang's solo songs: I need a girl; Wedding dress; Eyes, Nose, Lips; and Ringa Linga).
TAEYANG is still a member of BIGBANG.

I don’t think I have ever laughed as hard as I did with your reaction to Taeyang’s half naked body and muscles (what’s his work out routine?) and then when Jimin jumped in - you jumped back - you weren’t ready to be blessed were you? Taeyang is a kpop ICON. He and Bigbang have been on hiatus since 2017 with zero activities so we VIPs are thrilled to have him back!
He's the main vocal of Bigbang, the OG kings of kpop who changed the whole of kpop industry to what it is now (for example Bigbang and their leader GD (G-Dragon) were the first ones to write and produce their own music so our boys BTS and others can write and produce their own music). They were HUGE in South Korea and internationally before streaming, social media and RUclips.
Taeyang debuted with BB in 2006 so he's been in the industry for a long time and he and BB have so many good songs. Bigbang was and is a huge influence for younger idols, they are the blueprint. BTS members have said many times that BB are their idols and role models. Jimin especially adores Taeyang.

Oh, and always choose a live performance for any Bigbang song or solo song. They are not called the kings of live performances for nothing. We VIPs prefer lives over the MVs. Try the MAMA 2015 live or any clip from their tours.

Yes - you hit it on the head. Taeyang's idol MJ - ( Mj is always the skyline - highest peak - even though Taeyang is the city now. But the kicker is that JImin looks up to Taeyang as his idol ( so Taeyang is the skyline for Jimin) even though he has his own lights as a city in this current time. Idols looking up to their idols and vibing! BTS looks up to Bigbang. A collaboration of Generations and Voices - with admiration both all overflowing - just WOW !
