The Lone Star Brewery, built in 1884, was the first large mechanized brewery in Texas. Adolphus Busch, of Anheuser-Busch, founded it along with a group of San Antonio businessmen. The castle-like building now houses the San Antonio Museum of Art. Lone Star beer was the company's main brand.

I live in Austin, Tx and Lone Star is my go to beer. LS was originally brewed in San Antonio but now it is brewed in Ft Worth and I think it is owned by Miller or Pabst. It is still a blue collar beer because you can buy a 6 pack of LS 16 oz cans for $5.80.
I read after we did the video that Pabst owns them now. To be it’s a tasty inexpensive beer. Glad other feel the same way. Cheers 🍻
My Great Granddaddy, My Granddad, my dad and myself drink Lone Star!
Lone Star was made by Adolphus Busch the same Adolphus Busch from Budweiser back in 1884 with some business men.
My Grandfather still keeps claiming “They never had light beer just Lone Star!”
@Matt X that’s awesome. I did not know that about him making it in 1884, but more importantly I think it’s great that this beer is a family tradition. This reinforces my belief that beer is not just something you drink it’s part of your life. I love the fact of how this is part of your family’s life. Thanks for sharing that and helping drive home what I have been saying for years. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
@@Beeradventurer My family was recognized in San Antonio back in the good ol days where they were the most recognizable immigrant families from Europe but they also farmers at the time and there’s very little information I got about their heritage and traditions they did... but whenever I get the chance I learned about their lifestyle and the heritages that they built and pass down their strengths and stories...
But I’m grateful to live in Texas and hope to keep their legacy and stories alive and well drinking Lone Star and other great Texas beers! And of course! Cheers! 🍻
@Matt X thanks. That’s great. Family is always important to me. And I have family in Texas too. Lots of good beer and music from Texas. I hope to see you in the comments of some other good Texas beers and even some not from Texas. Cheers 🍻
I was born and raised in Texas and I love this beer good review brother.😁👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Cheers 🍻
I just had two. Was the first beer I ever tasted 60+ years ago.
It’s a great beer, and you drinking it. That long is a testament to how good it’s been for you.
Yes we was our own country. Absolutely true
If it ain’t lone star it ain’t beer. It’s a Redneck brew.
It doesn’t leave that beer in the morning after taste.
Don’t mess with Texas
Good old beer. Cheers
It sure is. Cheers 🍻
I like the fact that it's $5.99 for a 6 pack of pint cans, and doesn't taste like ass. I get this all the time.
@Frankie Charba exactly, It’s a decent beer I had a great price. Fantastic day drinking beer and go to beer. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
The lone star beer chicken. Awesome stuff
Need to try that
we call this the Old Milwaukee of the south. My grandfather drank this his whole life.
Nice. You know, I should review Old Milwaukee Cheers 🍻
When I turned 21 Lone Star was the first beer I bought and I've been drinking that ever since
Nice! It’s like I say, beer is more than a drink. It’s part of our lives.
@@Beeradventurer it sure is
It’s a nice grilling beer flavor
True
l live about half an hour northwest of Knoxville, TN. In the mid to late 1970s Lone Star was common here. Haven't seen it in quite a while, but an online beer locator says it's available at Total Wines & More in Farragut.
Wow. I’m near Memphis. At the price point I think I drink a lot more of it if I could find it easier. Cheers 🍻
@@Beeradventurer l found Lone Star in our nearest Food City today---$6.99 for six bottles. Oliver Springs, Tennessee. Store manager said they'd had it in stock for a while. 4.65 abv. Much tastier than the cans l remember from the 1970s. l'll buy it again.
I will look for it next time I had to NC to visit family. Thanks
We can't get Lone Star beer in Louisiana, but I have ZZ Top's 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, and 1979 albums.
ZZTOP is my favorite bad. I’ve seen them so many times I’ve lost count. I was even supposed to see them twice this year on consecutive weekends but we all know how that happened. Pretty good beer great band. Cheers 🍻
That looks like a great beer. I want one now.
It is. Cheers 🍻
Lone Star sneaks up on you
It’s because it’s so easy to drink. 😁
What was the message under the bottle cap? I had it in Atlanta at Superica! And they have a message or word play under the cap.
I have seen a few and even figured out some. I don’t remember which one this one had. 🙁 cheers 🍻
Personal experience? Late 60's thry came out with Lone Star Draft in bottles & cans. Unpasteurized. We used to kid we were getting high on LSD.
Lmao. Ok. Never heard that one. This just furthers my comment that beer is not just beer, it’s part of our lives, and our experiences. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
I desperately want to try this but it’s not available in Michigan.
Yeah, I can’t even get it where I live I have to go out of the area, so I know what you are going through
Beer Challenge for you. Lone Star vs PBR. Which of the two is better? 🍺
@Jeffrey Marsh I will have to do that as soon as I can find some more Lone Star. Thanks for the idea. Hope to see you in the comments section again soon! Cheers 🍻
Lone Star is far better than Pabst. Pabst tastes terrible. It's cheap but hands down Lone Star is much better.
@moderatesunited too bad it’s hard to get Lone Star 🙁 🍻🍻
Sounded like she cut a fart at around 8 minute mark 😅
I’ll have to look into that, I’m pretty sure it was the dog that was laying behind the camera but who knows we film a lot of videos, sometimes a lot in one day lol
shiner is the better texas beer
I think I with you
@@Beeradventurer im from Boston and when we get it here i never hesitate to pick up a pack
@nickcastaned203 That brewery makes so many good beers, I wanna take a tour there sometime.
