Well done, young man! I'm so impressed when young people GET this information and put it to work for them, because young people like yourself can literally eat junk all day long and often seem to get away with it! In reality, nobody gets away with ANYTHING, but youth can afford you lots of wiggle room. I read this brilliant and life changing book 37 years ago and immediately made changes to my diet. I'm now 68 years old, very healthy (no drugs, remedies, symptoms, supplements, etc.) and enjoy teaching these vital principles to others. Thank you so much for making this video!!
Harvey also mentioned that if it was difficult for us to just do the fruit that we could start with fruits and then we could steam vegetables with butter and also have toast with butter so you see, we are still not eating animal foods.
@@SiliconAlley Yeah! I've lost so much weight, sleeping better and have so much energy, I have taken some of the aspects of fit for life. For me, no sugar or wheat seems to be doing wonders.
@@maudbourke That's great to hear! It's amazing what changing what foods you consume can have such a large impact on your overall health! Thanks for sharing! I really focus on the Fruit in the morning and have really increased my fruit intake.
Appreciate you sharing the principles and your experience in a concise manner. I’m curious - do you still follow them or some of them now, years later or move on to something else?
Great question. I should have clarified that the food combinations of separating proteins from carbohydrates was focused on animal protein. Harvey Diamond was also plant-based so you should be set.
Nowadays in bread there are traces of milk. What do you advice ? Great content btw, you don't see many videos about this lifestyle from fit for live and i wonder why.
does this mean you can combine just every plantbased proteïne as long as its not animal based ? proteïnes are in veggies to and you combine that with chicken for instances.
Eating them together would likely not count assuming chips count as a carbohydrate. In that case you would be mixing. But ask around, I'm not an expert nor a nutritionist.
Good point Greg! I am not a doctor nor am I diabetic so this will not work for everyone. Always consult your doctor before making any drastic diet changes.
this makes me sad. I did this in college and it was central to my eating disorder for 4 years. please think carefully about who it hurts before you promote this stuff
I'm sorry this makes you sad and to hear about your struggles with an eating disorder. My intent is not to harm anyone but explain my own experiences with a popular eating philosophy. Everybody is different and it's important to recognize that healthy eating is different for everyone. Sending you lots of love ❤
Great review of the book. You have encouraged me to get a copy and read it. But what about coffee in the morning. Black coffee and what about nuts. Can they be combined with anything. I know they are protein but also fibre like fruit. I just thought of one more item how about quinoa. Is it a protein or a carb Thanks again. Great. Video and I’m going to subscribe
Please be sure to subscribe for more energizing videos to vitalize your life and business!
I'd also love to hear your experience with the Fit for Life diet or if you are going to give it a try!

Thanks for doing this video review. It's the best and clearest explanation of the process.

Still a classic! Thanks.

Really useful and informative, thank you!

Hmmm. What about... beans? I am plant-based but a lot of proteins are also carb-heavy... so I am confused lol

Brother I did read fit for life 1st edition , and what's about 2nd edition and
Another book by Marilyn. Young For Life ??
I have a question: can you have unsalted corn chips, and guacamole on a fit for life diet?
Eating them together would likely not count assuming chips count as a carbohydrate. In that case you would be mixing. But ask around, I'm not an expert nor a nutritionist.
What about coconut oil? I saw a video somewhere that said to drink warm water and coconut oil before every meal so you feel full? That fit for life?
If you can eat fruit on an empty stomach and have low blood sugar then I applaud you. But this is not a diet for a diabetic.
Good point Greg! I am not a doctor nor am I diabetic so this will not work for everyone. Always consult your doctor before making any drastic diet changes.
No health book or diet as even come close
That is the truth! I am trying the 75 Hard challenge and using the fit for life diet now
