My husband bought me Benevolence and Chevaux D’or for Christmas. I tried all of the HOS fragrances and those are the two like the most. I also liked Holiday. You may want to try Chevaux D’or when you get a chance. It is a little lighter, but they are both fantastic. Thank you so much for your recommendations. Your HOS video at Saks was really helpful!
Carolyn- that is awesome!!! I remember loving Chevaux but it was the first scent I smelled and then the rest so I think it got lost in the shuffle! My HOS present showed up today.. and I am wondering if I can get special permission to open it early... to wear to a few holiday party's this weekend. LOL! I am pretty sure mine is Benevolence. Oh... I just saw in a Chantecaiile video that you don’t like the smell of rose. You will not like Chevaux D’or. It a a strawberry, rose, vanilla combo that I really like, but there is definitely rose in there. (And Benevolence is still my favorite). I spent $50 to get the Signature Discovery set, and it was worth it. You really have to try each one and see how it wears on your skin. They all seem to be high quality.
Good morning, Abby thank you for your recommendations. I know you have been enjoying Chantecaille; they produce some of my favorite scents. Very natural smelling, Kalimantan is that intoxicating, exotic perfume, Le wild and Petals are white florals and lovely.
Fragrance is such a personal thing, it's hard to recommend scents to anyone. I'm stuck in a time warp and still love Chanel's Bois Des Iles, which is definitely an oldie but goodie and has been around since the beginning of time. Decants are always the way to go when trying new fragrances. I learned the hard way with TF Lost Cherry and just blindly purchased a bottle, and, let's put it this way, it now belongs to a friend. My signature fragrance is Omnia by Bvlgari, then that disappeared for awhile and I went overseas and purchased as many bottles as I could find. I would say that one of my top 5 fragrances is LeLabo's Gaiac 10, and it's a Tokyo City Exclusive and those are only sold here in September, every year, however , you can purchase it at Fragranceline in either a 1ml , 2ml or 6ml decants. I love that fragrance!! I'm more into fresh fragrances as a rule, more like Bond No 9 Scent of Peace. People stop me all the time asking what I'm wearing when I wear that. I find that when I start drifting away from my favorites too much, I always end up going back to them in the end. I have 4 or 5 fragrances that I've always loved and I never get tired of them. I guess you could call it a comfortable rut. I won't step out the door without a spritz of some fragrance, it makes you happy, it gives you self- confidence and as long as it's not offensive to those around me, I'll always wear some scent, even if I'm just going to the supermarket or Home Depot........lol.
I love this so much! And yes, fragrance is so personal and I have found that what smells great on others may not be the case on my skin-- thus a little trial and error is part of the fun! This was a very informative video! It is nice to hear about someone else's fragrances!! My signature fragrance is First by Van Cleef & Arpels. I have been wearing this off and on since 1980. I have a collection of some I have loved over the years but I am ready to try more and two you recommended the Memo Paris Lalibela and the Byredo Velvet Haze are the first I think I will try. So true about getting a sample because they sometimes do not smell the same on other people!! Love and Hugs!!

I own all the MFK fragrances you mentioned. It’s my favorite house. Sooo good. And yes only 1 spray of Oud satin mood is needed or you make choke literally lol . I wear it in the dead of winter. Would love to try house of sillage. Velvet haze sounds interesting as well

My favorite fragrance is actually a men's cologne called Gendarme. I found it in college and have loved it ever since. It's fresh and light and beautiful. Have been without it for too long so I'm repurchasing it for Spring!
My favorites for winter are Coromandel by Chanel (Les Exclusifs) and Ambre Nuit by Dior Privée. You need to sample those!! They are simply gorgeous :).
I do love Coromandel and I have a sample of the Ambre Nuit coming to me and I almost bought that instead of the Feve.... I was on the fence!! I was told if I like Feve - I will LOVE Ambre Nuit. xoxo

Not a fragrance person. I went to Saks today and OMG what a difference! I hadn’t been in the 5th Avenue store in years! If I wasn’t so hungry and on a budget, I would’ve gotten lost on the second floor. I did buy a new Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Legende. It’s a beautiful berry shade for me.
I don’t have any niche perfumes but in one of your latest video you talked about Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens and you made it smell so good through the screen that I ordered a bottle! 🤣 Can’t wait to wear it! I love vanilla too. Gabrielle by Chanel might be the one my husband is getting me for Christmas... Niche perfume are hard to find where I live and I find they cost too much money to blind purchase them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection! Would you share your full collection? I just received a sample of The Tom Ford Oud Wood. They really managed to capture the wood scent. I thought I was going to be attacked by a Woodpecker.
After you mentioned Baccarat Rouge 540 in another fragrance favorites video, I decided to test it out in person. I loved it but I was torn between the EDP and the Extrait. I sprayed the EDP on one wrist and the Extrait on the other. After walking around a bit, I couldn't smell the EDP anymore, only the Extrait. Even though I couldn't smell it, the SA could so it's interesting that you mentioned the same thing. I have also read that it often takes people wearing Baccarat 540 a few times to be fully detectable to the senses. The other MFK fragrance I am so interested in trying is the Oud Satin Mood. Sounds amazing!
Andrea-- yes- I think MFK Baccarat 540 is magical and honestly wanted to keep BOTH- but needed the $$$ to help with the EXTRAIT. I found that some days when I was wearing the original - it would come out to play - and I could smell it and then other days - it would disappear on me. I have fallen in LOVE with the Oud Satin Mood! I was sort of scared of the Oud line after trying the SILK but when I was at THE PERFUME HOUSE here in PDX - the SA-ALEXIS was wearing it and she smelled INCREDIBLE! To the point where I wanted to purchase on the spot but got a sample and have to say I have fallen in love. 1-2 squirts MAX. It will last a long time. xoxo

Tammy Woods-- believe it or not - I had about a year where ALL my perfumes were making me sick- hormonal stuff!! I was so, so, sad because I would get headaches, they would make me feel nauseous and such. So- I basically went fragrance free for a year and then my hormones balanced out and the wonderful world of fragrance came back into my LIFE. Thank the LORD!! IT is just something I have always been into and loved. I am excited to find your 2020 signature niche fragrance!!! I will continue to post up some videos and let me know what kinds of things you LIKE!!! And P.S.- I am a hugger too! Abby, I have to laugh about the time I ordered from Fragonard. It finally arrived from Europe and was supposed to remind me of Orange Orchards. I couldn’t even use it on the patio. 🤷♀️ Apparently I’m having a long period of “no can do.” But I read that niche fragrances have more natural ingredients and less artificial ones. That might help. I love pure essential oils, so I’m hopeful. Thanks for sharing that this could be temporary. Amen🙏🏻 I do love perfume on others! I just have to find one especially or me. @@TRWoods914 yes- the synthetic fragrances were ALL smelling the same to me and making me get bad headaches and feeling truly nauseous - so finding some niche fragrances got me back on track with my love for fragrance.... you don't have to buy a ton like me- you can just find one signature scent. The joke is that I have a different signature scent each WEEK! My family indulges me in my passions but they do TEASE me relentlessly too!

Abby - The last time I was able to wear perfume without issue was when I was 40 years old. That was two decades ago, so I cannot recall anything other than it was Givenchy, and I wore it to Galatoire’s on Christmas Eve. (Thought you’d like the NOLA reference.⚜️ That really happened.) I felt like a million bucks with my grey designer suit, red lipstick and nail polish. Fast forward to getting ready for a Mardi Gras ball. I put on the same perfume after putting on my formal. Then, feeling a migraine setting in, I undressed and showered (at the risk of my hair flopping 🤦🏼♀️) just to get the perfume off as much as possible. I may be one the those hopeless cases. Anyway, I tend to prefer citrus scents over sweet, I think. Although natural flower scents, I so appreciate. I love herbs like rosemary, for example. I may even like tobacco. I grew up stripping Perique Tobacco ...so that’s in my young memory bank of fond things. Also, one of your fragrances has frankincense. I love frankincense, mandarin, orange, lavender, sweet olive blossoms, Confederate Jasmine, coconut, and Rosa Demascena (like in a Chantecaille cream.) Vanilla is nice, too. I also happen to love Bulgarian Rose and used to buy the nectar from PURE ROSE INC. for adding to beverages. I am not familiar with oud except from what I read. I am confused about amber - as fragrance goes. 🤷♀️ I tried many perfumes since that time. I tried the Gardenia one from KAI. Only the tiny samples were okay. The larger size bottle (less pure?) didn’t work at all. My daughter wears Dior Addict, but I cannot be in the same room when it’s sprayed, or else a nauseous headache sets in. That’s me in a nutshell. 😂 Sorry for my thesis-length rant. HAPPY SUNDAY!
Why oh why do some RUclipsrs keep saying, "infamous" when they mean to say "famous?" They obviously don't know the meaning of the word, "Infamous." It has a very negative meaning. It means "known for some bad quality." So, she's insulting the fragrance when she means to say it's famous...

Not a fragrance person. I went to Saks today and OMG what a difference! I hadn’t been in the 5th Avenue store in years! If I wasn’t so hungry and on a budget, I would’ve gotten lost on the second floor. I did buy a new Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Legende. It’s a beautiful berry shade for me.

I don’t have any niche perfumes but in one of your latest video you talked about Un Bois Vanille by Serge Lutens and you made it smell so good through the screen that I ordered a bottle! 🤣 Can’t wait to wear it! I love vanilla too. Gabrielle by Chanel might be the one my husband is getting me for Christmas... Niche perfume are hard to find where I live and I find they cost too much money to blind purchase them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection! Would you share your full collection? Julie- I think you will LOVE Un Bois Vanille! Or at least I hope so! It is a beautiful vanilla scent. And yes- most the time when I have blind bought- it has not been a good idea but there have been some that I actually LOVE!!! and yes, I will share my whole collection : )

I just received a sample of The Tom Ford Oud Wood. They really managed to capture the wood scent. I thought I was going to be attacked by a Woodpecker.

After you mentioned Baccarat Rouge 540 in another fragrance favorites video, I decided to test it out in person. I loved it but I was torn between the EDP and the Extrait. I sprayed the EDP on one wrist and the Extrait on the other. After walking around a bit, I couldn't smell the EDP anymore, only the Extrait. Even though I couldn't smell it, the SA could so it's interesting that you mentioned the same thing. I have also read that it often takes people wearing Baccarat 540 a few times to be fully detectable to the senses. The other MFK fragrance I am so interested in trying is the Oud Satin Mood. Sounds amazing!
Andrea-- yes- I think MFK Baccarat 540 is magical and honestly wanted to keep BOTH- but needed the $$$ to help with the EXTRAIT. I found that some days when I was wearing the original - it would come out to play - and I could smell it and then other days - it would disappear on me. I have fallen in LOVE with the Oud Satin Mood! I was sort of scared of the Oud line after trying the SILK but when I was at THE PERFUME HOUSE here in PDX - the SA-ALEXIS was wearing it and she smelled INCREDIBLE! To the point where I wanted to purchase on the spot but got a sample and have to say I have fallen in love. 1-2 squirts MAX. It will last a long time. xoxo

Tammy Woods-- believe it or not - I had about a year where ALL my perfumes were making me sick- hormonal stuff!! I was so, so, sad because I would get headaches, they would make me feel nauseous and such. So- I basically went fragrance free for a year and then my hormones balanced out and the wonderful world of fragrance came back into my LIFE. Thank the LORD!! IT is just something I have always been into and loved. I am excited to find your 2020 signature niche fragrance!!! I will continue to post up some videos and let me know what kinds of things you LIKE!!! And P.S.- I am a hugger too! Abby, I have to laugh about the time I ordered from Fragonard. It finally arrived from Europe and was supposed to remind me of Orange Orchards. I couldn’t even use it on the patio. 🤷♀️
Apparently I’m having a long period of “no can do.” But I read that niche fragrances have more natural ingredients and less artificial ones. That might help. I love pure essential oils, so I’m hopeful. Thanks for sharing that this could be temporary. Amen🙏🏻
I do love perfume on others! I just have to find one especially or me. (Too sweet bothers me, and so far all Chanel has been too strong.😞)

@@TRWoods914 yes- the synthetic fragrances were ALL smelling the same to me and making me get bad headaches and feeling truly nauseous - so finding some niche fragrances got me back on track with my love for fragrance.... you don't have to buy a ton like me- you can just find one signature scent. The joke is that I have a different signature scent each WEEK! My family indulges me in my passions but they do TEASE me relentlessly too!

Abby - The last time I was able to wear perfume without issue was when I was 40 years old. That was two decades ago, so I cannot recall anything other than it was Givenchy, and I wore it to Galatoire’s on Christmas Eve. (Thought you’d like the NOLA reference.⚜️ That really happened.) I felt like a million bucks with my grey designer suit, red lipstick and nail polish. Fast forward to getting ready for a Mardi Gras ball. I put on the same perfume after putting on my formal. Then, feeling a migraine setting in, I undressed and showered (at the risk of my hair flopping 🤦🏼♀️) just to get the perfume off as much as possible. I may be one the those hopeless cases.
Anyway, I tend to prefer citrus scents over sweet, I think. Although natural flower scents, I so appreciate. I love herbs like rosemary, for example. I may even like tobacco. I grew up stripping Perique Tobacco ...so that’s in my young memory bank of fond things. Also, one of your fragrances has frankincense. I love frankincense, mandarin, orange, lavender, sweet olive blossoms, Confederate Jasmine, coconut, and Rosa Demascena (like in a Chantecaille cream.) Vanilla is nice, too. I also happen to love Bulgarian Rose and used to buy the nectar from PURE ROSE INC. for adding to beverages. I am not familiar with oud except from what I read. I am confused about amber - as fragrance goes. 🤷♀️
I tried many perfumes since that time. I tried the Gardenia one from KAI. Only the tiny samples were okay. The larger size bottle (less pure?) didn’t work at all. My daughter wears Dior Addict, but I cannot be in the same room when it’s sprayed, or else a nauseous headache sets in. That’s me in a nutshell. 😂 Sorry for my thesis-length rant. HAPPY SUNDAY!

Why oh why do some RUclipsrs keep saying, "infamous" when they mean to say "famous?" They obviously don't know the meaning of the word, "Infamous." It has a very negative meaning. It means "known for some bad quality." So, she's insulting the fragrance when she means to say it's famous...
