I ended up getting one you haven't mentioned, which is Bois D'Iris, which has a beautiful aromatic almost balsamic iris, and the woody notes mixed with the vanilla and amber, so dreamy. Can't wait to smell Orchidee Vanille though, and since I truly trust your opinion I'm pretty sure is going to be amazing!

Precious Oud is my absolute favourite! I went through 2 bottles of it. I would say it’s for those who like the idea of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid, but find it too strong. Love it! Will go and sniff other recommended fragrances from this house now!

Was just in the store and smelled these, and right this minute I am at home sniffing Neroli Amari on one arm, orchidee vanilla on the other and California reverie in a paperstrip. Those were my instant favourites. I want to get all three, and since it's summertime right now I'll go for Neroli and California. Incredibly fresh citrus florals🏵️☀️🍋

I tested Orchidee Vanille yesterday and I definitely agree with you, it is a gorgeous fragrance and yes Randa Hammami is middle eastern , specifically Syrian, she did Epic man for Amouage and multiple fragrances for Gerlain and others. What I may disagree with you is the ranking of Bois D'Amande , for me it is a great perfume but as you always say, scent is always subjective . my best wishes to you for a merry Christmas.
Do you live in the US? I've been trying to buy Rose Rouge from Neiman Marcus but it's not online, which seems odd to me. Because of the price, I'm leery of buying it from the gray market.

Stopped by Neimans today and smelled these on my way out. Absolutely fell in love with Bois D'Ore and Bois Amande! Really enjoyed the California Reverie and Patchouli Blanc as well, which was light and delicate and not a hippie patchouli at all.

I remember Midnight in Paris and regret that I never got a bottle before they discontinued it - stunning bottle and stunning fragrance at an amazing price (when it was still produced).
I still own an old bottle of Tsar that belonged to my grandfather… Given it’s fallen victim to IFRA restriction and subsequently discontinuation, I use it sparingly! My favourites are currently Moonlight Patchouli and Orchidee Vanille. Wonderful!
You know Tsar is back and selling exclusively at the VC&E Paris Vendome boutique and it comes in similar bottles to the ones in this video, the Collection Extraordinaire. But I wore it in the early 90s and seems to be a bit too watered down. Sad! :(

Love that you made this list! This house is seriously underrated in my opinion. They have great quality and have some very interesting and original offerings. I personally own Bois Doré, Bois d'Amande and Rose Rouge. Must say i wouldve ranked differently though. Bois d'Amande is actually beat mode on me and feels like a lemon almond cake, would ve been higher for me. And as much as Orchidee Vanille is a great scent, it's also very simplistic and a bit juvenile to my nose. Would've also definitely put Rose Rouge in there! Such an intoxicating jammy rose -- a better Rose Berberanza from Lancome private line and mids & dry down remind me of Initio's Atomic rose! I was at least expecting it as a bonus after the ootro hahah 🙈 goes to show how ranking is so personal!
@@phoebechristina hmmm i do own Lira, but dont have both with me to compare right now. From memory, i do find that they have similar scent profiles. However: Bois d'Amande has a noticeable almond note that Lira does not, and more smokiness and depth. Lira is delicious and more "innocently" feminine, easy and innoffensive, where Bois d'Amande is a bit more dark, mysterious or bold in my opinion! Hope that helps :)
VAN CLEEF & ARPELS is a house that I haven't had the opportunity to smell yet. They all sound incredible. Would really love to sample some of these, especially Bois D'Amande and Bois D'Ore.

I have tried California Reverie- It really is a lovely scent. Nothing super-challenging and I wish it lasted a bit longer. But it is a good everyday fragrance that should be widely appealing. I’m excited to explore some others in this range.

I've just finished my Orchid Leather bottle, very nice fragrance: leather over a sweet vanillic flower. Also, there's another discontinued one called Rêve d'Ylang very very nice. I remember it was a limited edition really, and was quite costly compared to the others.

My faves are all number 1, i cant rank them 🤪 ：California Reverie (best jasmine ever made after the iconic Serge Lutens A la Nuit IMO) and vanille orchidee ( one of my faves vanillas) and Rose Rouge (compliment galore). Have you tried the ‘revè’ line up? They’re absolutely amazing, I have revè d’ylang it’s outstanding. Saffron, ylang and cardamom. Revè d’encens is beautiful too.

I have bois dore. It smells like a vanilla cookie to me. Really good that protects all day. I wanted santal blanc so bad but after 5 min it’s gone
I looked everywhere for orchid leather could not find one but I found one on ebay from a seller. Brand new unboxed

Santal Blanc is on my wishlist, I just need to go ahead and pull the trigger. I have California Reverie as well and it's one of my favorite citrus / floral scents.
