- Steve shows you the correct way to replace the friction ring or ‘hog ring’ on an impact wrench. A new set of rings will help retain sockets so they don’t fall off while in use.

All your videos have been rad so far, keep it up brother!
That’s really awesome to see, thank you.
I've never seen anybody put a ring on, its usually the first thing removed.
Didn't you already make this video!? 🔨👍😁👍🔧
Yup, you spotted it Tony. I’m experimenting with RUclips shorts to see if people respond better to that format.
@@ToolDemos I did the same thing with my little shorts yesterday with the truck edc Tool bags
@@kdtxtooldad it’s pretty crazy the way shorts work. My channel is really small, but today the shorts got over 70k views.
Never seen it done before
Side note, so where do we get the replacement kits, are they all the same?
I got this kit from Astro Pneumatic, but it’s pretty generic. Generic kits fit almost everything. I know Snap On uses a proprietary size ring, so you gotta get one from them if your impact has their logo on the side.
What tool did you use to push it down?
It’s a soft rubber spark plug installer:

Was that a spark plug starter tool? I like ball detent more than hog rings
Sure was. Good eye.
I have a secret lol
Surprised Mac didn’t make you sign an NDA. Lol
You can 100% use a semi tire and probably any car tire to put that ring back on just for the record
Good idea
WhT? How the F do you use a tire to put that small ring on? Are you on drugs?😂
When they begin to use a Oring under the retainer ring
Good question. I don’t know.
I kind of like Them wore out
Yeah, broke in but not super loose.
Those anvil's get worn
Yeah, Astro will sell a rebuild kit for it.
