Completely different production. They’ve ditched Arlene’s iconic choreography for starters. Different costume designer. No more National engines- they’re just different characters now. ALW has hinted that Rusty is no longer “a steam engine of the past”. We’re promised “new plot twists”, changed characters and Greaseball is now female, apparently. When casting, they put out a call for scooter riders. I mean, I’ve got my ticket, but this sure isn’t going to be anything like the Bochum production. Fingers crossed it keeps at least some of its old charm.
