Well we know Chucky, every time we think he’s dead he returns. I have a theory that since Chucky was dying due to Dambella abandoning him if he just died on his own that would be it. However, Chucky was shot and died that way not by Dambella and Dambella would help every time he got killed so by dying by the hands of another probably gives him a fresh start which could be why his presence hasn’t left yet!
I agree with that theory it pretty much shows here he ll come back in some epic way

I have a theory: What if the nuking of the north pole, which would make kids not believe Santa is real, is the most evilest thing ever that makes chucky survive?
That is genuinely a great idea for a twist. Damballa said to get more creative with his evil deeds, he wasn't paying attention during Chucky's White House rampage where he killed the president so he might not have noticed Chucky nuking the North Pole, and it pays off a seemingly plot irrelevant detail.
News anchors around the country "Santa Clause (dramatic pause) dead? The north pole was the target of an accidental launch today and the president has remained silent (night) thus far, news at 11"

Now Charles Lee Ray’s ghost , is free to possess other physical bodies and get them to do whatever he wants. Ghosts have energy too though. It takes energy to continue on and, I believe, down time to recharge. I think the only way to erase Chucky/Charles Lee Ray completely is by draining all his energy.
