Yeah. It symbolizes how much Andy won't be the same anymore after what he went through. When viewed through an allegoric lens, him looking back at Chucky's charred remains pretty much symbolizes Andy looking back at his childhood, the very thing that died with that doll. Chucky's actions will haunt him forevermore. He watched the very thing he loved the most become a monster and try to kill him. That look of betrayal and trauma in his face and the ending theme convey his loss of innocence just perfectly. He just wanted a doll, and he instead got a permanent psycological scar. His life went down the drain from pretty much the very moment he laid eyes on that doll.
Just so everyone knows, the original intent of this ending scene when Andy is looking through the door at Chucky was not to indicate "This isn't over." Writer and director of the first movie Tom Holland has even stated he wanted to make sure there wasn't a sequel. But the brilliantly captured stare was meant to indicate rather that this experience would scar Andy for the rest of his life, not necessarily indicating Chucky's return.
Even if Child's Play remained as a solo movie, the ending and the soundtrack that played during the titles would still indicate that the traumatic memory of Chucky will forever live on in Andy.

Something has moved in with the Barclay family, and so, has terror... No one believes the truth... nor lives to tell it. There's nothing nice, about murder, and there's nothing innocent, about Child's Play.
Child's Play 1 is a masterpiece, and one of the creepiest in the series. There is sadness in the development of the sequel where she is separated from her mother.
I think this ending is not a chill one, including it gives that feeling that you just went through the biggest and worst event of your life and are afraid and reluctant to leave the room, just like andy

The Scarring incident are too much to bear And even if there was no child’s play 2, this would still show the scarring of A 6 year old child. He would never be the same.
I feel like that EVERYTHING that made Chucky scary was ALL in this film. He didn't resort to somewhat comedic ways to off someone and compared to the other later movies when he talked he wasn't really saying anything for the lack of being funny. He was a PISSED OFF DEAD KILLER Living in the body of a doll that was slowly becoming human and he was just rabid and gone psycho. As for Andy and his Mom, it really was a sad story for them as well considering they were not doing so well financially as well as emotionally considering that the father passed away and the ONLY THING that they thought would take that pain away only to cause not only just grief but an non believable story that only to be seen to believe was a doll possessed by a deranged serial killer. I watch the ending for this as well as other movies and I ask myself if sequels weren't a thing for the 80's and this didn't branch off like it did, how would it have held up to today? You have all these stand alone movies that never even had a sequel and they are good, but this one I always speculate that if it didn't have anymore sequels to go by what fan theories would be.
I think that could be because CP1 was more an horror tale ( like the ones appearing in tales from the crypt or The Twilight Zone) than a slasher movie. Although Don Mancini created it, I always preffered the way Tom Holland made the movie. With this dark and serious tone. That is why I consider the MGM studio's Chucky to be very different from the Universals one.
Its just a shame from being a little kid to to being almost a man people still though he was crazy not believing that a damn doll wouldn't come to life, you would think after many other people who had saw the same and same story people than tend to believe you after.
No , Child's Play should be a solo movie, the way Andy was looking at Chucky wasn't to indicate " this isn't over " , but it was to indicate that would be an experience he would carry for the rest of his life, not indicating Chucky's return
Honestly I would hope once tha franchise ends that it ends similarly to this with an adult Andy finally ending his years of pain n mental torture. By just staring back at chucky finally dead once n for all but knowing he had a sense of hope of living out tha rest of his life knowing chucky won’t ever come back. N honest even ending it with this song for tha nostalgia. Would be so fitting

How can you not feel bad for Andy…?He loved everything about Good Guys. That’s all he wanted was a Good Guy doll. How traumatizing it must be for your best friend suddenly wanting to kill you. This certainly traumatized me when I saw this for the first time at only 7 years old. I had a My Buddy doll at the time and threw him in the closet and locked it after i saw this movie.
Andy must've noticed that Chucky's body moved to an upright position when he was supposedly laying dead a second ago before they left. Henceforth his concerned look at the end.
No , Child's Play was supposed to be a solo film, Chucky didn't move, Andy looking at Chucky was to indicate to us that it would be an experience that would haunt him to the rest of his life.
the way this movie ends like most movie that do not know if par 2 will be out make it a stand alone so if childs play's 2 - 6 never were made and it was just this one this is how it would end plut the song at the end sounds like some ones childhood is revisted but runied by one thing!

Andy’s father died in a car crash in the original script after Andy’s birth and his mother went to a institution for supposedly going insane and after seed I guess she got out and actually married Mike as heard in the Curse of Chucky ending credit scene
He also stabbed a pregnant woman in the belly and proves beyond all question that he is pure and irredeemably evil. Tiffany is pretty bad but she is nothing next to Chucky.

This is more than a doll movie it’s about a kid dealing with a psychopathic POS and then has to deal with PTSD for the rest of his life!
thanks for this, even as a kid, i'd always watch through all of the credits just so i can hear this song. It's definitely one i've been meaning to add to my ipod for a while now.
Thank you for posting this. Great score, fitting for this film. many thanks!
Hal Reinstra, one of the production assistants, sold props he kept from this film to Rick and the gang on "Pawn Stars". ("Little Pawn Shop of Horrors")
Every time I look at the credits of the ending.I start to be sad and start crying but i'm not crying I never cry
To me, this is the true end of Chucky
The rest is just a bunch of cash grab scenarios
No it's not, stop talking misinformation k@ren
i love the beat at the ending credits so freaken much
everyone has a birthday they'll always remember, this.. is Andy's
Something has moved in with the Barclay family, and so, has terror... No one believes the truth... nor lives to tell it. There's nothing nice, about murder, and there's nothing innocent, about Child's Play.
Choices soundtrack. Three 6 mafia used this for the song Mafia.
Chris Tobar which one ?
Also Zerfleisch & eR - Diese Welt ist krank (Deutschland, 2009)
Also Lil Boosie “Show Da World”
Love that ending music. I play that to my children when they misbehave. I tell them Chucky will get you.
One of the best Three 6 Mafia beats ever. M.A.F.I.A.
@Jahkel Madison Choices album. Song is "Mafia."
I agree with all the comments the ending scene disturbing as it is, masterpiece...,
The remake can't do something like this one
Child's Play 1 is a masterpiece, and one of the creepiest in the series. There is sadness in the development of the sequel where she is separated from her mother.
Excellent movie best childs play movie 1988 and theme
I think this ending is not a chill one, including it gives that feeling that you just went through the biggest and worst event of your life and are afraid and reluctant to leave the room, just like andy
Estan bonita esta musica me hencanta like por la musica
esa musica con la escena final donde Andy da un ultimo vistazo a Chucky, practicamente evocan la perdida de la inocencia debido a un terrible acontecimiento
when I saw chucky's death I WAS LIKE OMFG AND THEN THE SONG WAS BADASS
I love how three 6 mafia sample this into a beat
Mafia👌🏾
Chucky's death woundn't be enough to take him away from Andy and the movie show us things don't always end with a happy ending
This is where is it all ends IMO, Chucky dies….he dies, leaving an innocent 6 year old scarred completely.
His girlfriend would never recover his broke remains.
He dies, not knowing Sarah, whose husband he killed, someone who he kidnapped and stabbed at the womb….has in fact survived, she would survive and later give birth to a daughter named Nica sometime after this.
Speaking of the pierces, just like they did not long after this, Andy and his mother would move from their apartment. The Scarring incident are too much to bear
And even if there was no child’s play 2, this would still show the scarring of A 6 year old child. He would never be the same.
I feel so bad for Andy at the ending. All he wanted was a best friend. But now it’s too late. Andy’s best friend is dead. 😢
Gotta look over his shoulder behind him for the rest of his life
I feel like that EVERYTHING that made Chucky scary was ALL in this film.
The only sequel I liked was Child's Play 2 (1990)
@@NSGhostbusters instead of andy being going to a foster family, I think karen and detective Norris should've gotten married.
@@hb300blk 4 months later but them being together is implied at the very end of curse
Its just a shame from being a little kid to to being almost a man people still though he was crazy not believing that a damn doll wouldn't come to life, you would think after many other people who had saw the same and same story people than tend to believe you after.
In my opinion, this music is way too beautiful and sad for a scary movie.
It's sad bc Andy's childhood was ruinned by Chucky, he never will be the same after that
I'd like to see the movie M3GAN try and beat this ending music. Probably fail.
@@dreamguardian8320 Annabelle tried and failed. Chucky is irreplaceable.
Poor Andy, all he ever want is a friend who would be there for him and love him, but he got his mom
And mike
0:21 Andy knew he hadn't seen the last of Chucky
No , Child's Play should be a solo movie, the way Andy was looking at Chucky wasn't to indicate " this isn't over " , but it was to indicate that would be an experience he would carry for the rest of his life, not indicating Chucky's return
If Andy and Kyle’s story has truly ended in season 2 of the Chucky series……..is it strange that I had to come back to this?
Honestly I would hope once tha franchise ends that it ends similarly to this with an adult Andy finally ending his years of pain n mental torture. By just staring back at chucky finally dead once n for all but knowing he had a sense of hope of living out tha rest of his life knowing chucky won’t ever come back. N honest even ending it with this song for tha nostalgia. Would be so fitting
Thanks for uploading this!! I really like the music in the credits. The music ts so eerie, yet touched with wistfulness.
I love when a film has incredible music during the end credits.
Sounds like a Christmas song.
Sure does
Skyler Benoit yeah
March Torre not even close to it
Yeah it does

Karen:"Andy, come on. We'll go to hospital with Mike. Let's go."
"Hi I'm Chucky wanna play" :)
Ade du wei dumballa \m/ give me the tv series i beg of you!!!!
I love 2, Bride and the show but this was the perfect ending. Like many franchises, this should've been the only one.
2:29-3:30
am I the only one who gets goosebumps at the little rhythm of the instrumental music in the background.
A haunting end. What surprised me was the film was a satire on toy marketing apparently
Child play the first child plays movie. This first one was sad.The other chucky movies are cool😢
Crazy, for 25 years I remember this song due to CLOUDIA in the credits, rare only all caps name standing out 😜
2:47-2:54 is my favorite part.
especially the instrumental rhythm in the background.
I love the music
Andy must've noticed that Chucky's body moved to an upright position when he was supposedly laying dead a second ago before they left. Henceforth his concerned look at the end.
No , Child's Play was supposed to be a solo film, Chucky didn't move, Andy looking at Chucky was to indicate to us that it would be an experience that would haunt him to the rest of his life.
Closing to child's play 1999 on dvd
the way this movie ends like most movie that do not know if par 2 will be out make it a stand alone so if childs play's 2 - 6 never were made and it was just this one this is how it would end plut the song at the end sounds like some ones childhood is revisted but runied by one thing!
0:36 the music reminds me of christmas
2:46 best part
People. They make great points. What happened to andy's mom, sister, Mike Norris, and better yet... His father?
The world may never know. Probably in the sequel though.
Andy’s father died in a car crash in the original script after Andy’s birth and his mother went to a institution for supposedly going insane and after seed I guess she got out and actually married Mike as heard in the Curse of Chucky ending credit scene
In Curse of Chucky, the Chuck man would admit he destroyed Andy's childhood. The Chuck never showed any hint of remorse or regret. Chucky is awesome.
He also stabbed a pregnant woman in the belly and proves beyond all question that he is pure and irredeemably evil. Tiffany is pretty bad but she is nothing next to Chucky.
Good theme song to end this movie
I love the sound
The low quality theme is better in my opinion
No se pero me encanta la canción xd
Triple six-hypnotize camp posse
Musica triste para un momento triste Unu 👌
