Guitar sound got me hooked.... amazing musicianship.
How many times can I like this video? Joseph is a beautiful human being, brilliant artist.
Only once but I’ll give it a like for you
Still my very favorite KEXP performance. Joseph Arthur live is such a healing, cathartic experience. Something about the way he carefully layers everything from a faint susurration to a fully resounding roar or vice versa back from a crashing wave to a subtle breeze, the calm vulnerable often goofy banter in between songs, the randomly wandering over to a corner of the stage you didn't notice and spending the rest of the set painting and casually playing around with loops in almost ambient bliss. It's like an emotional/spiritual pressure release valve. If my memory isn't lying, Joseph seemed like he was in a low place in 2013 - 2014, then in 2015 seemed to allow a little more optimism again, and there is something truly beautiful about that sound. A "standing-up-again-after-the-world-has-already-beaten-you-down-countless-times" quality that's just heart-stirring? Maybe I am dreaming that, but it doesn't change anything. Guy's a brilliant performer. Somehow both mainstream but underrated?
'maybe you' is incredibly beautiful and so warmly heart-felt.
This guy is a pure sensiitive genius!!! What great poetry! What great simplicity! What great accuracy all his albums along!
When I listening to your words, Joseph Arthur, I don't feel alone. my favorite song of you is Ashes Everywhere.
awesome discover with Joseph Arthur ! Thank's you KEXP for bringing talents as far as France wich we never heard otherwise !
To me, these songs are the perfect continuation of Joseph's Big City Secrets album, which shares the same gritty, raw, no-nonsense poetic beauty shown here. Absolutely love this guy and the stories he tells through song.
I've never seen John in the Morning on video. I love him and I love Joseph Arthur.
Love Joseph
A great singer and composer, true and committed to his music.
Maybe you. Fantastic.
How sincerely and innocently he revisits yhe Blues and Rock n' Roll recipes!
Love it!!!!!!! Pure talent right there
Every single album is great in its own unique way. Love and relate to all of it in my own unique way. Huh? Yeah.
yep! ❤🎉
I play a Godin too! Can confirm, they always stay in tune.
Nice to see an interviewer who does a decent job.
thaks to kexp for provide amazing sounds music good again : D
So amazing music. Please keep it that way :-)
This is a hilariously good interview. It totally plays in the vein of old Letterman interview. Well done.
At a concert of Joe I screamed "Break" is good, and then Joe says "thanks" and then, "wait, doe that means the rest of the album is not good". He was going through a little phase where his ego was hurt because the crowd at his show was substantially smaller than what he was used to!
awesome.
yep i use a godin make too one of there simon patrick cw natural versions... its my second one and i love them because of there tuning being tight every single time i pick it up.... o/
There s an episode of this guy's podcast with mark lanegan which is a really interesting and fun conversation. And he has the voice too... interesting charhachter (i dont remember where the "h" goes so i decided to abuse of it, of the "h" letter)
yeah!!!!!!
This guy sounds a lot like Richard Ashcroft.
That being said, he is that good and his songs are well done.
Incredible melody.
Just discovered him on the WTF podcast today.
Have he released Maybe you yet on spotify, it is insane!

The looper is an Infinity by Pigtronix.
Trent Reznor's hippie cousin

Richard ashcroft meets joe purdy
Fuckin, Joe.
Maybe you is beautiful, reminds me a bit of U2 in a way.
I heard a little Radiohead in there, 30 minutes or-so in. Nothing wrong with that. Great set! I'm looking forward to hearing more of his music. I'd love to hear him and Mark Lanegan play together. I bet it would be unreal.
:( !!! Face book emoji are ev'erywhere...
