@@GenoHaunter Well this haunt evolved quite a few times this year. I started building all the new props and characters in April of 2021 and it was actually going to be a much smaller display only on our patio, and then little by little it snowballed into what you saw in this video! It was a whole lot more work than setting up our front yard, but we were pretty happy with how it all turned out! Thanks again for watching!🎃👍
That is so cool... I really like all the work put into this haunt to make it cohesive and immersive experience. I can only imagine how much work went into it my tiny haunt is 1/4 your size and it's not as lavishly decorated. I know it's hard to get all those vines, trees, etc. I'd love them for my haunt, but I can't find stuff like that as easily as you did... and if I did, my other problem is where to store all that stuff off season? That's a crazy amount of props and the mulch on your patio... What do you do with that when it's not a haunt. (Secretly I'd want to leave it set up all year I love it! Bwahahaha...)
Haha thanks so much Ray, yeah we wanted to leave it up all year too! Especially after how much work it was, it dang near killed us, then there would have been two more corpses in our haunt! Haha! But yeah, it really is a STUPID amount of work, and as you know we create all of our props, characters, and animatronics all from scratch. So it’s a year round project for sure! We store all of our props anywhere we can but we don’t keep any of the branches, we just find new ones every year. And the mulch bark we swept up, bagged it, and gave it away for free to local people who used it for landscaping! Thanks again buddy for all the support and kind words! Cheers😄🎃👍
Haha yeah! I think I just found them on eBay, they come in a 3 pack. I repainted them so they look a lil better, but they are pretty cool! Just more fun little details!👍

You both did such an incredible job, and it's so clever how you transformed the inside of your patio with bark, vines, tress, etc.! (Did that process kind of feel like the scene in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" where Richard Dreyfuss throws plants into his kitchen window!??😂🖤)

Absolutely loved this! Please keep posting content like this! I have two video requests, could you please post tutorials on how you made your scarecrow and how you aged and painted your witch's cauldron? Very specific I know but I've never gotten to see the cauldron this close before and I'm so curious as to how you texturized it! Thank you!
Thanks so much Madison, we really appreciate it! I have tons of making of videos and tutorials coming up of everything we created this year! But we made the scarecrow 7 years ago before we had a RUclips channel and didn’t film any of it, sorry, but maybe I could still try and do a video about it one day? I am definitely going to do a more in depth video of the swamp witch and her cauldron one day too and I will explain how everything was created. Thanks again! 😄🎃👍
I figured there wouldn't be any footage of it but any sort of instruction as to how the body of the scarecrow was made would be really helpful! Thanks so much!
@@madisonreidphillips Hey Madison, so the body of the scarecrow is just made out of chicken wire and then wrapped in burlap that we painted latex over to lock it all together. The arms are also just tubes of chicken wire wrapped in burlap and latex. The head is a giant Funkin we carved, and we added a fake vine for the stem! Nothing to complicated, and the parts are attached to the wood poles with bolts. The aging and rust on the cauldron I did by stippling Bondo on it with a brush and then sanding the high points of the Bondo. Then it’s just painted and weathered to look like rust and corrosion. It’s a really cool technique!
Everything is so natural looking, like everything had such a wet organic realness to it! It’s absolutely stunning!!!! which is what really caught my attention that first time I stumbled upon your set up, if you don’t mind me asking where do you find some of these things at? More specifically the crow and bullfrog motion sensor box and the groaning of the ghost motion sensor box, and light up eyes in the trees?
Thanks so much buddy, I really appreciate it! And thanks again for the continued support! The “scream boxes” I got off of Ebay, and the cat eyes I got on Amazon. I think you can find the scream boxes on Amazon too?😄🎃👍

The slate/rock path is such a nice detail piece. I would love to emulate that in my display. However, I have to imagine the weight gets a little crazy when you are putting them all away; or are they resin type rocks by chance?
Thanks so much! Yeah they are the real deal and they are pretty heavy too! We just stack them on the side of our house off-season! They do make fake resin rocks and probably would be a lot lighter, but these real slate rocks are cheap haha!😜🎃👍
Haha, thanks brother! So here I am twenty years later still putting vines everywhere, geesh haha! Well you know me, I definitely have a specific aesthetic, and I just love trying to make it as immersive as possible!🤣😜🎃👍
Outstanding haunt! I saw you on C&C and The Weird Kid. Those were awesome packages you sent them. After seeing the picture you recreated, could you made a video explaining how you can make your own ball replica from phantasms if you get the time? That would be sweet!

If somebody ever gets the gumption to bring the stuff that is so readily available in the U.S they would make an absolute killing. And I would be their best customer. Best wishes 👍
Is Halloween a big holiday in the UK, are there a lot of people who decorate and do home haunts!? You should open up your own shop there since no one is doing it!😄🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow Hi. Halloween is just starting to take off here. My displays are very small (due to my property size, which is a blessing in disguise as o struggle making my props due to being housebound disabled. A bigger property would require more props to fill it). But my display attracts huge crowds and visitors. So people love the halloween displays but they prefer to visit than to make. But it is great when hundreds of people are buzzing and loving the displays and they thank me for them. So all is good. If I was much younger and business minded (and had the financial capital) I certainly would set up my own store. There are 2 or 3 stores that sell a few of the bigger animated props but we never ever get the availability of the 12ft skeletons. I would give a kidney for one of them. Best wishes 👍

I have haunted my yard going on 22 years. I made the front page of paper and received a letter from congress last year( 2021) . My husband passed years ago leaving me limited money, but i save all year to continue for the kids as they look so forward to it. I have a smaller front yard and by no means does it look as awesome as yours.i make alot of things but have no idea how to animate like you. I subscribed and love your ideas. So very inspiring to me. Awesome job by you and your wife. Thank so much for posting this! 🎃
Hi Kelly, thank you so much for subscribing and for all of your incredibly kind words, we appreciate it so much! That is really awesome you have been doing a home haunt for so long, I’m sure the kids and your community love it so much! I would really love to see your yard haunt, what’s it called? Do you know if anyone has posted videos of your yard on RUclips, I’ll look it up! Well thanks again so much for watching, cheers! 😄🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow You and your family are very welcome! My haunt is called The Haunting of Larkbunting. I dont think videos were posted, but home movies and lots of pics have been taken. I take alot of pics as well! I may do a video with my phone this year and post on you tube!
@@kelly851 Well definitely keep us posted if you end up doing a video, we would love to see it! Thanks again so much Kelly! Cheers😄🎃👍
Everything is awesome. I love those tomstones
Thanks so much Ed we really appreciate it! Hey Have you seen our tombstone video we posted a couple years ago? It has a ton of great footage of all seven tombstones including the foam sculptures and I talk all about how they were created! Hope you dig it! Cheers!🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow I sure didn't but I will now tho. Thank you

I'll be sharing with my friends for sure.
Wow you just made my day, thank you so much for watching and for your incredibly kind words! We are so glad you enjoyed it! Cheers😄🎃👍
Love all of it. You just made me wish the year away to get to October again.
Haha well thank you so much for watching, glad you liked it! By the way, I was just looking at all your videos on your channel and I’m pretty sure we are brothers from across the pond haha! I’m totally into the same things you are, medieval Renaissance and pirate festivals, SCA medieval battle re-enactments, Alestorm, Flogging Molly, Punk rock(I was a drummer in a punk band for years), Black Flag game, Comic and movie conventions(I was a special FX artist for movies for 20 years), cemeteries, Castles, and Halloween!! Maybe one day we can clank some tankards of ale together! Cheers!😄☠️🏴☠️🍻👍🎃
@@GrimwoodHollow Wow, you're right that's a lot of shared interests! If you're ever over in London we should meet up for a beer at a punk show.
I absolutely adore your pumpkin scarecrow, that is so cool.
I would love to experience proper home haunts like yours.
We are nowhere near up to the levels shown in these awesome you tube uploads.

Well thank you so so much for your extremely kind words, and we are so glad you like our scarecrow! We really appreciate you watching our videos too, thank you! So do you also do a home haunt, we would love to see it?! Thanks again, cheers!😄🎃👍
Stunning, you created a different world. So much work. Did you even take it down. I wouldn’t have the heart to takedown 😝
Haha thank you so much! Yeah we really thought about just keeping it up and then having spooky sleepovers in it with our friends! That would have been way better! But we unfortunately took it down. At least It goes down way faster than setting it up though! Thanks again!😄🎃👍
That is amazing. Such attention to even the smallest of details.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are so glad you like it! Yeah we sometimes go a little nuts with the details, some are probably never even seen, but we love to do it! Thanks again! Cheers🎃👍
Someone mentioned your channel on Facebook. It was probably on Haunter's Hangout and I have been watching your videos ever since! (2 days in!)
I love love love all of your details. We used those motion sensor voice boxes in our haunt too. I thought they worked great. This video was very inspiring! I can't wait to watch more of your videos.

Such nice art direction and styling love the vibe. Spooky whimsical with great style. One of my faves ever. I'm starting my first year doing a real haunt. A walkthrough graveyard in our drive sway. So seeing this on concrete is so great. Thanks for sharing your amazing haunt

You gave me some good ideas for my yard for Halloween
Awesome, thanks so much for watching! I really hope it inspires you to come with some crazy horrific creations of your own! Cheers😄🎃👍
This is the kind of Halloween content I live for! Admittedly, I only watched a handful of your videos over the past season, but I always assumed you had just a yard haunt out front. NO IDEA it was so damn elaborate. Now I'm going back and watching more of your videos with intent - you're a bloody genius. Thanks for making your talent and methods so accessible to the rest of the community
Well thanks for giving us a second look and thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate it! I’ve worked as a special FX artist and sculptor for movies and theme parks for 35 years and everything you see at our haunt is hand made from scratch! So I like to try and share some of these techniques and knowledge with the haunt community and world! I really hope you enjoy our channel and are able to find it useful! Thanks again! Cheers🎃😄👍

OMG dude, I absolutely love it..all of it!! Love the tombstone. Creepshow is also my favorite horror movie. Everything looks amazing. The Imps stole my heart a long time ago. They are great. They have so much personality. Also, thank you, it was an honor being able to contribute a small piece in your beautiful haunt. This was the video we were waiting on. Awesome brother! Just tell it to call you Billy :)

Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL work!!! I can’t get enough of those little crazy pumpkin creatures, and the foliage was so perfectly placed and set together in each scene. I love your backstories and animated props!!
Thank you so much for your insanely kind words, you are awesome! We are just so glad you liked everything! Yeah this lil pumpkin dudes get a lot of love, haha, but they are so naughty!🤣🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow you’re welcome!! How long did you have this haunt planned out for??
@@GenoHaunter Well this haunt evolved quite a few times this year. I started building all the new props and characters in April of 2021 and it was actually going to be a much smaller display only on our patio, and then little by little it snowballed into what you saw in this video! It was a whole lot more work than setting up our front yard, but we were pretty happy with how it all turned out! Thanks again for watching!🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow Of course man. Looking forward to seeing more from you! This is a huge inspiration as an aspiring yard haunter myself!
Great job! Saved for inspiration.
Thanks so much Gary, really appreciate it! And hope it inspires some horrific creations! Cheers🎃👍
Cheers😄🎃👍
THERE ARE FAKE DRAGONFLIES?!?!?!? THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!!
Haha yeah! I think I just found them on eBay, they come in a 3 pack. I repainted them so they look a lil better, but they are pretty cool! Just more fun little details!👍
@@GrimwoodHollow I noticed they’re black and blue damselflies. Keep up the good, no, amazing work!

Thank you so much for your extremely kind words Karen, it means a lot to us! Glad you liked it! Cheers😄🎃👍
Haha yesss!! And we made the wishing well out of mashed potatoes!! Haha! Thanks again so much Fraidy, you always leave the best comments and make us laugh! We really appreciate you and all of your support! Cheers😍🎃👍

Hi there! Found your RUclips page after you visited our yard haunt, Kraken Cove, while my son was holding down the fort. Unfortunately, I was out of town so I didn’t get a chance to meet you but thank you for visiting. I’m checking out your walk through of last year’s setup. Can you point me in the direction of the motion sensor sound boxes you used? I could put those to use! Great job!
Thanks so much Sarah, we loved your yard haunt! I’m a total pirate freak and have been doing pirate fairs and Ren fairs for over 30 years! And my work room is totally pirate themed! Needless to say I kinda wanted to live on your lawn forever haha! In fact please let me know if you are ever wanting to get rid of any of your pirate decor, I’d absolutely love to buy some off of you! Anyway, thanks for checking out our channel and videos, we really appreciate it! So the scream boxes you can find on Amazon or EBay. We got ours off of EBay about 10 years ago and I don’t think the same seller is on there? But you can find quite a few different types these days! Hope that helps! Happy Halloween!😄🎃👍

Haha thanks again Hobbs! I have a ton of making of video and tutorials coming up soon too of everything I made this year, so stay tuned! Cheers😄🎃
Thank you so much!!
Can you share how you made the diy web thrower?

Very cool display. Where did you pick up the sound boxes
Thanks so much! I believe we got those off of Ebay about 8 years ago, if I remember right. But I think you can even get them on Amazon now?!🎃👍

Outstanding haunt! I saw you on C&C and The Weird Kid. Those were awesome packages you sent them. After seeing the picture you recreated, could you made a video explaining how you can make your own ball replica from phantasms if you get the time? That would be sweet!

Where would you recommend getting juke netting like yours? Im thinking of making an indoor haunted swamp this year.
Thanks so much for watching! So we ordered the Jute Netting online from Home Depot. They come on 4’ x 285’ rolls and weigh about a hundred pounds, so they have to deliver them on a truck! I think they cost about $90 a roll. Just a heads up, this stuff sheds little fibers of jute like CRAZY, it is sooooo messy! I wouldn’t recommend doing this indoors in your house, that would be a mess to clean up for sure! Good luck with your swamp haunt! Cheers🎃👍

Pumpkins over here in the UK are so small, cheap and crap looking.
If somebody ever gets the gumption to bring the stuff that is so readily available in the U.S they would make an absolute killing.
And I would be their best customer.
Best wishes 👍
Is Halloween a big holiday in the UK, are there a lot of people who decorate and do home haunts!? You should open up your own shop there since no one is doing it!😄🎃👍
@@GrimwoodHollow
Hi.
By masks, you mean Halloween masks right? LoL
Hahaha well of course!!😉🤣
