EASY Vietnamese Chicken Phở - Phở Gà

Ingredients:
- whole Chicken (or chicken thighs and legs)
- 1 whole onion
- 1-2 fresh ginger (whole pieces)
- 4 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 tbsp fish sauce
- 30 grams rock sugar (or 2 tbsp sugar)
- 1 cube of chicken bouillon
- 1 tsp MSG
- 1-2 bags of rice noodles
Garnish:
- chopped cilantro / coriander
- 1 white / yellow onion (thinly sliced)
- chopped green scallions
- bean sprouts
- lime / lemon wedges
Condiments:
- Hoisin sauce
- Siracha

Looks really tasty, and much easier to make than other broths!
I prefer mine a little spicy, so I add sliced fresh jalapenos. Oh! And I also add fresh Thai basil!
When I harvest Thai basil, I freeze it in ice cube trays of Pho broth, so I can use them throughout the year.
I definitely do not add the Hoisin to the broth. It's entirely too sweet.
I don't even add lime because it changes that clean delicious flavor of the broth.
