John frusciante is the coolest guy walking the planet right now. He is a treasure that hopefully everyone appreciates. Lucky to be living in the same time and space as he.
It's weird when a true musician is interviewed they actually answer the questions intelligently and are more humbled about what they do(create music) instead of cocky, annoying and all about the monies... Everything he said was a natural answer to those questions instead of just saying whatever "cookie cutter" answer might make them look better or be a safe thing to say or something their manager told them to say. Good stuff! Wish John would tour with them one more time!
"You know, being acknowledged by society, by the Grammys is an honor. I take it for what it is. It doesn't mean that I've reached the highest peak of my artistic worth. I might not be acknowledged at all when I reach that peak." Hmmmmm.......... Foreshadowing anyone?
In my opinion, the song Walls and Doors is his artistic peak (so far). I’m a gigantic metal head now, but I still remember just how unbelievably advanced that song is, as far as reaching a level of musical expression and song structure and just a general mastery and understanding of song writing. It’s not pretentious or meaningless or goofy. It’s just a straight up master level piece of artistic capability. On a side note though, ironically, in the song writing department Brent Hinds is just as talented I think (and much better at guitar). After listening to Cold Dark Place, I think Hinds and Frusciante should get together and jam sometime.
Not this guy, it penetrates his soul and body AND mind, he is a RAW musical note, ornate....and "throughout" ON another dimension ya'll. SOME guy said we're lucky to be alive at this place in time, I agree.. 👍👈👉☝️👁️
i love how john goes up to flea at 9:04 and is like "let me heat that piece again" then walks off and in less than 10 seconds comes up with a perfect melody to go along with it
I think I can safely call John Frusciante a guitar virtuoso. My favorite tunes from the Chili Peppers were when Frusciante was with them. He's just incredible.
This guitar is worth tens of thousands, his personal guitar he's comfy with and the the guitar has the tone that shaped the sound of the chili peppers. Why should he ever change his guitar?
Jimmy B Agreed, yet I love how he gets really moody when his tech isn’t working as it should! There are many sides to him; he’s fallible yet not afraid to show it. Even more to like.
He's actually not that cool of a guy in person, he's actually pretty serious and very quiet/reserved as u should with strangers, but he's really nice to little kids most of the time. For the most part he's kinda grumpy lol
When they started jamming at 09:05 I held my breath - I knew the music was going to get more and more interesting from that point onwards. And it did. These musicians are in a class of their own. They casually drift into Hey, then Snow and it’s mesmerising.
I love how John watches Flea do the progression once like a student and he’s like “alright, I got this” and proceeds to create an epic jam out of thin air, then how Chad does the perfect fills and knows just by looking at flea when to change the drum pattern
I absolutely loved RHCP with John and they had perfect musical chemistry but I'm very grateful for Josh. yeah he's not as great as John but he's keeping this band alive and he's a pretty great musician too. overall, this band is just perfection and all of the members are great in their own ways
It's no accident that Josh fits in with the RHCP sound. Anthony and Flea are very conscientious about who they allow into their band when they are looking for a replacement. I hope this band lives forever.
cdforshee I was just wondering about the "keeping alive" part. There has been one album in 5 years since John left the band. And to be alive to me also means to grow, musically e.g.
I think they're working on an album right now. But keep in mind, Flea, Anthony, and Chad are in their 50s now and they have families and lives and stuff. I think they deserve to kick back and enjoy the fruits of their labors. Flea and Anthony have been doing this together for over 30 years. Take my word for it, age slows you down. You can see it in Anthony's stage style and the way he moves and dances. Compare live footage of him when he was 30 with footage of him now.
I have been listening to JF long before I came to know about fruscianteworld. The videos are really great. Thousands of people getting into JF is a good thing. That would make them listen to more songs of his and grow an appreciation. I know John doesn't care, but as fans of John, it's nice to have more people around that adore him as much as we do. Sometimes people just need a starting point.
Noam Lanagen you’re quite right; he has huge integrity. I’ve never heard him bullshit or lie, drugs or no drugs. Sober people do not have a monopoly on honesty - that idea is ridiculous when you give it thought.

John Frusciante is such a beautiful amazing person! Brought a lot to this band, definitely one of my all time favorite guitarists, and the magic with RHCP is each individual really gave something individually, just amazing!!
John Anthony Frusciante is unstoppable. He holds the title for the warmest & most intelligent rock star of all time. I’m glad to be alive at the same time as him.

Welcome back John, we’ve all missed you. With that being said, Josh was and still as a great fucking guitar player. He was a perfect replacement for John. He could also play their old songs as well as new ones and it all rocked! It sucks he’s leaving and all. He will be missed dearly.
Funny thing that Josh is called rhcp's guitarist, but everyone thought of him just as a "good replacement for John"... Deep in heart everyone believed John will come back one day :)
Im afraid im disagree... When the band plays live, Josh always seems to be struggling with the vocals and the riffs of frusciante's songs. Josh is a wonderful musician but is not better performer than john
*I don't know what I appear to be to millions of people watching, the trick is not to think about it from their angle.* Wow, that's a really good advice! Love John!
Anthony looks so much less sleazy WITHOUT the porn 'stache. I keep hoping he'll ditch it but every time I see him somewhere, it's still there. Whatever. As long as it doesn't fuck up his songwriting abilities, right?
"Music comes to you when you are not thinking; you can only really experience something from your own angle; I'm practicing guitar a lot; when I'm playing not make a big effort just surrender to the energy in the air" Mr. Frusciante.

@@loo524 he said in an interview he made a conscious decision to act like the other guys when he first joined so he could fit in. He was really raw and wild, even pulled his junk out on camera and everything in between. I really like the John that came back the second time.. this is more bud authentic self! and guess we will see the 3rd coming hopefully live soon! 🤟
I fucking adore that melody 9:12
What's the song do you know ?
ryan gillespie it's not a song. It was all improvised. Came up with it on the spot. When he goes to Flea he's hearing him play and came up with something in the same key and played along to it.
@@micahman10001 I’ve been surfing this comment section for any sort of hope that it was an official rhcp song. You killed it. :( haha
I’m not a big fan of the chili peppers but I love John Frusciante’s guitar playing and solo stuff so goddamn much. My top Spotify artist of 2020.
I’m over sharing now, I just wanna express my love for the dude’s artistic ability along with many others in this comment section.
Cheers
I know I'm late, but this is similar to "Plate of Brown" (it is a B-side of Californication). Magical
This is freaking AMAZING, especially hearing Hey!
I love how the flea, john and chad just started jamming at 9:09. So great to listen to! 👍🤘
fucking shitty reggaeton in the background
his satisfaction and self peace and incredible confidence is beyond inspiring !
17:43 John flips out about microphone volume. Anthony tries to help immediately. Flea plays wrong notes. Also: 18:36, 18:48
It’s a rehearsal so better there than on the air lol. John is visibly frustrated though haha “down!” Haha
in awe of this guy
Absolute unit
John likes Aphex Twin. Awesome.
This is why John Frusciante has to stay in RHCP for life. He's awesome.
To be there while they are just jamming like that! Amazing!
The humblest rock star to walk the earth.
it's 2020. and this magic is happening again.
Can't wait to see them live again, whenever that may be
6 months later and we're not far away from the '22 World Tour ❤️😍
