And to make the connection even stronger, Studio Comet also made anime based on Sanrio’s IPs, like Jewelpet, and even Onegai My Melody. Maybe that’s the reason why Hello Kitty made a cameo. Note: Studio Comet also made an Art of Fighting OVA, a Samurai Shodown motion picture, and some Fatal Fury TV specials. Oh, and don’t forget they made an anime based on Dragon Quest, called Legend of the Hero Abel. The respective game franchises have been represented in Smash Bros. Ultimate in some way.
