It is nice to see a clean edition of the NES games but nothing can be at the classic and the feeling it gave you of playing the first time. For me, my favorite was Super Mario it was the 1st and after all these years it still remains a favorite. ❤
It’s basic as balls, but Super Mario Bros 3 is easily my favorite NES title. It’s as simple as the first game but adds so much. As a kid I always looked at it and said: “Look at SMB1 and tell me how all of this can fit on an NES cart.” It was so impressive to me. Nowadays I see this game as a fun break from the hardships of anything but video games. I’m about to go to college and I’m still impressed with this damn game. I probably will be for the rest of my life, even though I know how they stuffed all that content in there nowadays.
Super Mario Bros 2 is my favorite! Some people say it’s not a real Mario game cuz its a reskin of Doki Doki Panic but Shy Guys, Birdo, Sniffits, Luigi’s high jump, Peach’s float, and so many other staples of the Mario franchise originate from that game so it counts as far as I’m concerned!

The game looks fun. I grew up with NES and never heard of the Nintendo world championship. I only learned about it years later watching Angry Video Game Nerd. Zelda series will always be my favorite but I can never choose a specific favorite. Out of the NES games I like Zelda 1 and 2 for the dungeons and explorations, faxanadu/willow for the adventure rpg type, dragon quest/ final fantasy for the old school rpg type. There’s so many games and I can never choose just one.
My favorite is Zelda II, Brings back great memories when I was a kid and when it first came out when my dad brought it home I was happiest kid in the block

My favorite NES game is Donkey Kong because first of all, it’s a CLASSIC.🥹 Secondly, I used to play the arcade version of Donkey Kong at my local arcade and I therefore get feelings of nostalgia whenever I play it in the present day. And lastly, I find it so satisfying to have Mario climb to the top of each level and to make him break any barrels coming his way with a hammer! I also *love* how the original Donkey Kong basically kick-started both the Super Mario Bros. franchise and the Donkey Kong franchise! I’d recommend Donkey Kong to anyone who wants to start playing video games because it’s enjoyable to many, it’s both simple (in terms of controls and objectives) and challenging (in terms of obstacles and jump physics) at the same time (making it fun for both beginners and experienced gamers to play), and the sound effects and music are nice to hear!

I swear, sometimes I feel like i'm the only person alive who knows that you can actually running leap right over every single Piranha Plant in world 4-1 without having to wait, slow down or even kill them as long as the arc of your jump is perfect. Every time I watch someone speed through that level, I watch to see if they ever figured that out and I always notice that they never did. Not even most of the actual speed-runs i've ever seen people do seem to know, like I do, that you can just safely JUMP clear over them at maximum running speed.

Its great to see this up, but it also leads me to a question about Zelda/Zelda 2: Are some of those challenges still using RNG, or is enemy movement and behavior fixed?
The most rng one is actually the current metroid championship challenge. For some reason there is like a 0.1% chance that one of the enemies that circles around a platform will simply be going to the right instead of the left. Causing it to be super rng since you can fast spin instead of control jump up to the platform with 0 chance of getting hit. Of course this is simply from my own current experience, so take that as you will. Also, one of the zelda challenges does have an rng facter with enemy movement patterns but I forget the name of it. I really hope they add a dull leaderboard even if all of the challenges will be a race to see who can get an uncontested time first.
I'm surprised the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy didn't make the list. Truth be told, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos is my favourite game from the NES gallery. Its soundtrack was surprisingly memorable.

Nintendo world championships: NES Edition is absolutely brilliant and fantastic oh yeah by the way Nintendo in the near future should make Nintendo world championships: SNES Edition and the 10 snes games that should be added on there is super Mario world, yoshi's island, legend of Zelda a Link to the past, donkey kong country, donkey kong country 2, donkey kong country 3, Kirby's dream land 3, super Metroid, star fox and star fox 2 now that will be really awesome and exciting to have those snes games added onto Nintendo world championships: SNES Edition.
The 2D Mario Trilogy + The lost levels are my favorites, I like the lost levels for its difficulty, but if I had to pick a favorite favorite, it would be Super Mario Bros. 3, I first played it on the Wii Virtual Console and it’s always stuck with me. Disneys Ducktales is also a classic tho

This is a nice novelty game that’s great with kids that have NEVER touched a NES game. It lists every NES game released that you would never expected listed in a Nintendo game. It also has some Easter eggs like if you attempt to do a known glitch like the minus world pipe glitch. Also kids these days would continue to suck at retro games without stuff like this to modern players.

Nope. I found out about that quickly while playing SMB1 like a decade ago. Still my go to to this day for that level.
