I'm calling it one of the best Narrowboat videos on RUclips of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. It really highlights what an engineering marvel it is. Thanks Jo and Michael.
I cannot imagine horses treading that path. I love this masala of old tech & new tech. The aqueduct is a marvel, a truly wondrous achievement. Today with drones and the internet and everything else, y'all are able to virtually bring visitors from around the world to experience it. A fantastic experience.
A really beautiful sequence. It shows the amazing engineering of the aqueduct and the lovely countryside around it. Thank you so much for posting this.
I first watched this video when it was published. Then just last month, we crossed the aqueduct ourselves in a 66 ft hireboat (then a couple of times on foot while moored in Trevor Basin for the night). Now revisiting this video, it undoubtedly captures the essence of the journey over this amazing structure so faithfully, it's like being there again. And with such supebly accomplished editing, this must surely be number 1 in the ranks of every Narrowboating video ever made, even including the BBC's Great Canal Journeys by Timothy West & Prunella Scales. Thanks for the memories, Jo & Michael.
Fantastic! My wife and I intend going full timing, first in a Motorhome then on a narrow boat. It’s videos like this that convince me we’re making the right choice.
It’s a great choice! It has some serious learning curves, but once you get round those bends it’s a good way to live, though with a motorhome you get the advantage of not having to worry about winter lock repairs. M
The multi-source edits (4 including the phone footage from Mike) were very nicely (precisely and accurately) synchronised with the time-line; a very good job indeed.
Never has a RUclips video (or just about any piece of footage for that matter) moved me so much as this perfect blend of scenery, engineering, and music. Thank-you you beautiful people for sharing this amazing work of audiovisual art.
I've done this crossing in a boat and your video captures it brilliantly. Crossing the aqueduct early in the morning, showing the long shadows casr by its arches, was a stroke of genius.
Emotionally beautiful 😢 and thank you immensely for sharing your incredible narrowboat journeys, you three are amazing. I do hope life treats you well moving forward in 2024 x
It's difficult to put words to this. No it's not: Stupendous, incredible, astounding, breathtaking, stunning. Must be the greatest vlog I've had the good fortune to watch. Best wishes to you both and diolch/thanks.
You two win in life...no words can .. say anything .. ........thank you so much for your work and bringing people you do not know for a ride along on your boat : ) magical/powerful !! ... perfect
Phenomenal. Thank you both for sharing the trip! Perfect for a disabled housebound person like me to see the beauty of other cities and the rivers. Always wanted to try living on a narrowboat but seems a little difficult with my disabilities. But I get to enjoy them with your videos! Thank you so much. Warm regards, DP
Thank you! Yes I could imagine that living aboard would be a bit difficult, depending on the disability. There are quite a few accessible boats run by charities, and a few private ones that have been retrofitted, but they all more or less rely on having some able-bodied crew as well, as moorings are rarely all that accessible. M
Brilliant. Absolutely amazing. Love the music. Had to watch it a couple times over as there's always little bits I miss !! Thanks for sharing. Keep safe all 3 of you.
Don't know how I missed this when it first came out. Other than the universe knowing I'd need to watch something serene today to get me in the right frame of mind. Thanks and keep it coming
That was so beautiful. The drone shots were incredible, but for me, it was the shots from the bow camera, with the beautiful green countryside all around and the hills in the far background. Reminded me very much of Pennsylvania here in the states. I was driving on the turnpike for the first time, headed to Maryland and as I came around a turn, I began to see the hills/mountains off in the distance. Brought back some wonderful memories.
“Don’t look don’t look down Mr Mannering!” Now M will have to watch Dads Army. Really super awesome. Enjoyed it so much I didn’t want it to finish. Drone footage was amazing and put it truly into perspective. Also well done Jo for going backwards and forwards three times. George didn’t seem as impressed as me. 😂 Thank you 😊
He was impressed on take 1... he thought he drone was a duck... by the end of take 2 he’d lost all interest! And I’ve seen some Dad’s Army, though I’ll admit some of it was a wee bit lost on me. M
At least pay for a drone so we can do more, maybe! ;-) We kind of knew the real time thing might not get a lot of views... it really appeals to some, but they’re a relative minority. They’ll miss out on all the aerials though, but hopefully views pick up later. M
OMG! One of the best narrowboat vids ever. Great video sources, excellent editing, perseverance in getting the correct shots, calm helmsperson, nice calming musical overlay. right length, no distracting commentary about fear of heights. Very Well Done. I really appreciate your videos, as I am planning a London-Shropshire canal vacation.
It is an impressive video. The country shots were lovely. the stern shots of Capt'n Jo' were awe inspiring. The drone just tied everything together, reaching beyond the range of your bow camera It reminds me of childhood trips to West Virginia on old US route 40. There would be solid rock on one side, and lots of nothing on the other. And that road was much wider than that ribbon of water. My hat is off to both of you gentle folk. I might as well hang it up when watching your work. My hat is off most of the time then anyway. Seriously, you take great video and put it together very well. God Bless you.
I only watch RUclips indoors, well out of the sun. Jo's sunny smile is muted to a safe level by the video process. Yes, my head is losing its natural shade, so hats are the rule winter and summer. Best Wishes.
Thanks for sharing this adventure, very professionally filmed by yourselves and the drone pilot. Terrific editing also, great stuff all the best Stevie
I refused a whole weeks holiday in my teens because my parents and sister were heading over there in Wales, and whilst it looks beautiful, the thought of being up there terrified me. I do love videos like yours, and the drone view is amazing, I wish I wasn't scared of heights.
I have watched this as many as you crossed it plus ten times more. Amazing footage. The drone totally helped put it into perspective. I enjoy all your videos, but this one is extra special. Hope you don't get tired of me commenting...But it just gets better everytime I watch it. I get totally absorbed in it. Thanks!!!😊
On a beautiful day like that I would want to stop on the upwind side of that small sewage treatment facility and soak in that view. Crossing at night with a full moon would be exceptional. Nice work kids, really well done indeed !
Great vlog Micheal and Jo, have to admit drones really add a different prospective birds eye view and used in conjunction with normal ground based video really works well together. A truly stunning video.. 🤗🙂
I've been across the Pontcysyllte (pronounced pont-si-sith-te) viaduct four times each way, but that is the very best view I've ever had of it. Realy pleasant and interesting series. Thank you both=and lovely George.
Wow! Just wow! A really fantastic piece of work. But I'm not sure that you really need a drone. It would be nice, no question, but at the end I watch your videos because of the stories and your talks and the outtakes and George. A drone could add up to that but at least for me the talking and the whole feeling of you both beeing on your journey is the thing that keeps me watching.
Was feeling homesick for this place. Perfect depiction of it! Just ahead of where you moored up, are three old boats being repaired...for the last several years, one of them is called 'Excalibur' ..Great walking spot too!
Thank you... we got lucky on that one, as there was an experienced drone operator who also happened to be a viewer. We were given a small drone so I could try the idea out, but frankly I don’t think I’ve got the knack for it! M
In the hands of an able pilot/camera person, the footage shot from a drone can be beautiful. It certainly is here. Nicely combined with your own filming and soothing background music, the end result is mesmerizing.
There's nothing more I can add to the comments already posted. This is most likely the most the most inspiring video I've seen of the Stream in the Sky. What with the retakes I count five crossings in one day, methinks you're now a veteran.
Absolutely stunning! The aerial shot from the side makes for a sturdy looking aqueduct, but the shot from above makes the off side from the tow path look painfully thin!
I have already seen beautiful videos, but this one deserves 5 stars
Thank you so much 😊
I'm calling it one of the best Narrowboat videos on RUclips of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
It really highlights what an engineering marvel it is. Thanks Jo and Michael.
All thanks to Gary for those sweeping views! M
There are no words adequate to express how incredible this is.
I know! But we appreciate stunned silence as well! M
WOW! Kudos to Gary. That was wonderful. He was so kind to do that very special thing, and I'm sure everyone enjoyed it.
Yeah, it was so good to have the drone footage and really fun to edit the video. Massive thanks to Gary
The editing is phenomenal! Brings back memories of crossing with our kids 27 years ago. I held on to them for dear life as we crossed!
I can only imagine! If we’d had kids on boards they’d have been chained to the dinette! M
WONDERFUL Thanks to all involved for a very nice movie!
I cannot imagine horses treading that path. I love this masala of old tech & new tech. The aqueduct is a marvel, a truly wondrous achievement. Well thank you for that! We got lucky with a willing drone pilot and good timing! M
I've often returned to this mesmerizingly majestic visual narrative. It's full of pleasure and delight. Time well spent. Big thank you!
What a lovely compliment. Thank you.
Fantastic! My wife and I intend going full timing, first in a Motorhome then on a narrow boat. It’s videos like this that convince me we’re making the right choice.

Absolutely beautiful, excellent video. Thanks Jo, Michael and Gary.
Watched that one all the way thru I didn’t even fast forward once. It was mesmerizing & enchanting.
Glad you liked it! M
The multi-source edits (4 including the phone footage from Mike) were very nicely (precisely and accurately) synchronised with the time-line; a very good job indeed.
She’s gotten really good at editing! And she does it all manually, as I don’t think she’s discovered the multicam mode! M
Never has a RUclips video (or just about any piece of footage for that matter) moved me so much as this perfect blend of scenery, engineering, and music. Thank-you you beautiful people for sharing this amazing work of audiovisual art.
Really glad you liked it that much! We got so lucky with this one! M
Holy cow! That bow cam makes it look just as crazy as everyone says! Really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching! M
I've done this crossing in a boat and your video captures it brilliantly. Crossing the aqueduct early in the morning, showing the long shadows casr by its arches, was a stroke of genius.
Thanks! Though it was more luck than genius, I assure you! M
Emotionally beautiful 😢 and thank you immensely for sharing your incredible narrowboat journeys, you three are amazing. I do hope life treats you well moving forward in 2024 x

Wow! High praise! Thanks for watching! M
Totally agree with comment! Inspiring, stunning and peaceful! Art.....
Thanks! M
Beautiful scenery.
Gorgeous weather.
Relaxing music...
3:58 *INTERNAL SCREAMING!*
Heh... I know that feeling! M
I really wish I had a narrow boat to do aquaducts like this and be a permanent liveaboard boater. Keep up the great work guys.
You never know, maybe some day! M
Best video of the aquaduct. Beautiful absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you! M
That was the best narrowboat video ever!!!!! Love it!!!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to edit because it is so different to our usual style.
You two win in life...no words can .. say anything .. ........thank you so much for your work and bringing people you do not know for a ride along on your boat : ) magical/powerful !! ... perfect
Thank you! Glad you liked it! M
Takes just one word STUNNING
Thanks! M
Absolutely stunning. Love the smile on your face Jo.... the whole of the way across ❤️
Thank you Foxes. It was either a smile or a grimace... they are easily confused.
🤣🤣 I’ll say it was a smile. 😀
It never looked that good when we went over it.. fantastic footage.
Thanks to Gary for all the drone work! M
wow wow and wow what a video you tube should give you a award for best film of the year and yes jo you looked very relaxed
She was way more relaxed than me, that’s for sure! M

Beautiful! Best narrowboat video I've seen.
Well shucks, thank you very much! M
Wow wow wow, what a fantastic video. The drone pilot was amazing. What an experience !
Thanks! Yeah Gary did an amazing job! M
An absolutely stunning vlog. Jo you looked so relaxed steering you could have been born to do it.
She did great! Only a couple dents in the aqueduct! M
Beautimous!
Don't know how many times I have watched this one now. It is just brilliant. Just wish I could hit the like button every time.
Heh, well keep enjoying it! M
Stunning. You certainly did justice to the fabulous scenery. Loved it!!!
Thank you! M
Absolutely wonderful. My stress level has come down. I needed this. Thank you . All the best from British Columbia.
Glad it helped! :-)
You really hit the nail on the head with this one. Well done and thank you.
Thanks! Glad you like it! M
Excellent footage, just shows off the scenery so well. Well done for organising this special moment in your history!!
Thanks! M
Brilliant. Absolutely amazing. Love the music. Had to watch it a couple times over as there's always little bits I miss !! Thanks for sharing. Keep safe all 3 of you.
Wow, beautiful. There is a 120m drone flight ceiling, so this has been done very cleverly. Spectacular!
Thanks! He flew it right up to the edge! M
Breathtaking, just breathtaking!
Thanks! M
Beautiful to watch
Thanks! M
Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks! M
Absolutely Fabulous!!!! Thank you Trevor Basin, Jo and Michael.
Thanks! TB
Absolutely beautiful. So glad you had good weather for the journey back across
It didn’t last long, but it was glorious on the day we needed it! M
Absolutely magical! Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching! M
Don't know how I missed this when it first came out. Other than the universe knowing I'd need to watch something serene today to get me in the right frame of mind. Thanks and keep it coming
Well, glad you found it! M
Wonderful. Words fail me. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! M

Sound like great memories! And probably no fatal drop either side! M
“Don’t look don’t look down Mr Mannering!” Now M will have to watch Dads Army.

Nice, even the sewer works looked pleasant.
As such things go it was pretty picturesque. You could almost see it featuring in a Turner painting. M
1300+ views and only 272 likes??? give them a thumbs up and share with friends, lets get them the viewership they need to make this channel pay well.
At least pay for a drone so we can do more, maybe! ;-)
We kind of knew the real time thing might not get a lot of views... it really appeals to some, but they’re a relative minority. They’ll miss out on all the aerials though, but hopefully views pick up later. M
What a wonderfully constructed video, perfect visuals, perfect music and just a feeling of floating grace. Beautiful.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! M
Everyone else has said it. I couldn't agree more. There should be a 'more than like' button. Now I think I'll watch it again.
Hope you like it as much the second time! M
OMG! One of the best narrowboat vids ever. Thank you, but do keep that hat on if you’re out in the sun! Thanks for watching! M
I only watch RUclips indoors, well out of the sun. Jo's sunny smile is muted to a safe level by the video process. Yes, my head is losing its natural shade, so hats are the rule winter and summer. Best Wishes.
Good, gotta keep the shade on there! M
Loved this vlog. Great shots from all vantages. Happy cruising.
Thanks, glad you liked it! M
Friggin awesome video guys! We have no other words!!!! Except, good to see you had George moored up safely at the end.
With planetary alignment and sharing the same dob, I would expect nothing less!!!!
He was well and truly moored, that dog weren’t going nowhere! M
Thanks for sharing this adventure, very professionally filmed by yourselves and the drone pilot. Terrific editing also, great stuff all the best Stevie
Thanks! Gary did an amazing job with the drone, and Jo’s editing was spot on as always! We’re glad so many like it! M
Fantastic 👍
Thanks! M
Beautiful just amazing
I refused a whole weeks holiday in my teens because my parents and sister were heading over there in Wales, and whilst it looks beautiful, the thought of being up there terrified me. I do love videos like yours, and the drone view is amazing, I wish I wasn't scared of heights.
Oh no, what a shame. You can actually walk across the valley if you really don't like heights.
Stunning!,...thanks for putting this video together and sharing it with us
Jo did an amazing job on editing! Glad you liked it! M
I can't believe I've only just seen this guys! Absolutely stunning.
My bad, I've been missing out for so long.
Thank you! 😊
Absolutely A-maz-ing!!! vlog and footage. Loved the music. We will watch this over and over again. Thank You :)
Glad you liked it! M
Stunning footage, it must be wonderful to have that record of your trip over the unpronounceable.
It really is! So glad we bumped into Gary! M
Thanks!!!😊
Well, really glad you like it that much! M
Incredible....I will be doing this when I get my narrowboat...fantastic video..xx
It’s well worth the terror! M
On a beautiful day like that I would want to stop on the upwind side of that small sewage treatment facility and soak in that view. Crossing at night with a full moon would be exceptional. Nice work kids, really well done indeed !
It would be incredible with a full moon. You’d never catch me doing it, but incredible! M
Great vlog Micheal and Jo, have to admit drones really add a different prospective birds eye view and used in conjunction with normal ground based video really works well together. A truly stunning video.. 🤗🙂
Thank you! Yeah we’re not huge fans of drone footage, but for things like this where you really need the overview, WOW does it help! M
Absolutely wonderful!
Thanks! M
Beautiful love the view's love the drone footage well done XXX
Glad you liked it! M
What Dark Magic is this? Jo is at the tiller??!! That's heresy! LOL ;) Great video!! Thank you so much for sharing it. Absolutely stunning views.
She’s there more often than we let on! M
I've been across the Pontcysyllte (pronounced pont-si-sith-te) viaduct four times each way, but that is the very best view I've ever had of it. Realy pleasant and interesting series. Thank you both=and lovely George.
It’s a wonderful trip isn’t it!
What a beautiful video. I have been over there on foot and on a trip boat and definitely enjoyed the boat trip more! It is so high.
Thanks! We’ve found most things are more interesting from a boat! M
Brilliant guys,loved it 😁👍👏👏👏
Thank you! M
An excellent Sunday morning video ! Gets a big thumbs up from me 👍
Thanks! And 👍🏻 for watching! M
Serene and peaceful video, nice one.
Thank you. It’s one of my favourites
Wow!
Should we ever get around to using a drone it won’t take away from that... we’d just like one for these few wonders of the canals! M
WOW! Well done you two!
Thank you! M
Great drone footage! Really adds to the quality of your vids by giving a great overview of the land around the canal system. Well done!
Thanks, Gary deserves all the thanks for that! Really impressed with his footage! M
Was feeling homesick for this place. Perfect depiction of it! Just ahead of where you moored up, are three old boats being repaired...for the last several years, one of them is called 'Excalibur' ..Great walking spot too!
Just don’t venture too close to that last step! M
Stunning composition and soundtrack, a joy to watch! Your getting the hang of this vlogging milarky☺
Thanks! M
Beautiful filmed ,Beautiful vlog
Thanks! M
You nailed that one, excellent
Thanks! M
Michael you need a drone.....you know you do. Brilliant!
I certainly want one! I’m not sure I need! M
I hadn't realised quite how high that thing is, it's a long way up, or a long way down, whichever way you want to look at it !!
Great video, thanks.
This is precisely why my heights thing kicks in!! It’s nuts! M
Very relaxing vlog thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! M
WOW this was simply amazing to watch!
Thanks! M
This is the first of your videos I've seen and I think you should definitely do more drone footage - It's stunning.
Yeah Gary did an amazing job shooting the aerial work, and Jo cut it beautifully! M
@@MinimalList M, this still leaves unanswered the question 'how did M get to the other side of the valley?'.
He walked, very carefully, with a death grip on the rail and George leading the way. M
The immortal words of Neil Armstrong come to mind: It is a small step for mankind, but a giant leap for Man! Congrats on conquering your fears.
I’m gonna just say that Neil Armstrong made a way, way bigger step than yours truly! M
Magnificent!, a fine cornerstone to your vlogs!
Thanks! M
Worth waiting for, peeps and pooch - Gorgeous! x
Thanks! M
There's nothing more I can add to the comments already posted. This is most likely the most the most inspiring video I've seen of the Stream in the Sky. What with the retakes I count five crossings in one day, methinks you're now a veteran.
Three crossing for Jo, plus one walked one for me. We got it in two takes, thankfully! M
When we went over the Iron Trunk Aqueduct on the GU near Cosgrove, I thought it was amazing. But this is SO much bigger and more impressive!
Absolutely stunning! The aerial shot from the side makes for a sturdy looking aqueduct, but the shot from above makes the off side from the tow path look painfully thin!
It IS painfully thin!! M
Just brilliant 😮
Thank you! M
Bravo, thanks for the efforts you have put in here, thank you
Thanks for watching! M
