Honestly, with the right conditions, it can happen in a month (maybe sooner). I have a newer car that sat with a car cover for a month in a shady spot without sun. The climate where I live is pretty humid, and it only took one month for my entire interior to be covered in mold. I came to find I had a leak, and some water was resting inside the vehicle. The humidity and the stagnant water made a costly and time-consuming clean-up job.

Sad to see them in there. Some of them have real potential and life left in them by the looks of things. I want to rescue some of those Mk1 and Mk2 golfs and polos!

Amazing to see how the mold is on all the surfaces you touch in the car. Just shows how much bacteria there is from your hands.

I've always really liked WV vehicles, my first car was a 1974 Passat, the first model in Brazil, then I had a 1986 Parati, followed by a 1989 Santana Quantum 2.0 GLS, followed by a 2002 Glof 2.0 which was just a problem, a Paraty GIII year 2002 and finally a Gol G5 1.6 one of the worst engines because with the thin segment rings it passed combustion residues that contaminated the lubricating oil and ended up clogging the pump. Today I'm happy with a Mitsubishi L200 diesel pick-up, but my wife has a 2003 Saveiro (pick-up with trunk) for transporting bathing and grooming animals.

Try and get yourself one of these. I had no interest at all in Beetles, until I restored a Super Beetle to almost-new condition, in 2004. Now it is a valuable part of our family, more than just a car. They become attached to you. I wish you every success in finding a Super Beetle. It won't disappoint. Greetings from Australia.

Pra mim é um mistério, esse monte de carros estarem escondidos nesse lugar. A minha hipótese, é que se trata de um esconderijo de carros roubados. 🤔

12:30 “looks ten years ago but probably gonna be 20 years” actually the Mk4 golf came out in late 1997 so nearly 27 years now! And was made until 2003 (hatchback) and 2006 for the estate.

surprises me that they would deteriorate like that..this is a mine so hard to say but i know in a deep cave the temperature never changes and without temperature change to influence nothing would ever deteriorate.. so maybe this mine isn't deep enough..didn't think mold could grow without some kind of a light source but we do see allot of moisture inside this mine....seems the reason these cars are there would be interesting to know why..seems more like part cars..seeing the newer stuff blew my mind..someones still busy

Have you tryed to get a ( GPRS ) of where you are to the end of then you find the cars just to see where you are on a map , it mite have a other entrance where it is blocked up wall because if it is used for storage it mite come out in a village.

😢 💔 For a Mechanical engineer like me, This is so heart breaking, VW bastard is always ignorant towards history after owning so many brands, with so much money in bank, reviving these cars should be no problem to big company like Volkswagen. Atleast there are millions of people out there who would want to own these cars, repair them themselves or need spare parts from these vehicles when company already said spart parts manufacturing aren't available anymore. This is heart crying 😭.
