Oliver is here!!!!!!!!! 💙💙💙💙
I was scheduled to be induced Wednesday the 16th at 7:30 am.
I was feeling very discouraged about that as I wanted to approach labor and delivery naturally, he was 10 days late on the 16 and my doctor was worried about the meconium in his system and didn't want me to go past 10 days late.
Well! Tuesday the 15th came and went with no labor but on Wednesday the 16th at 12:30 am I went into labor!
I stayed home during the first phase of labor and arrived at the hospital at 3:00 am dilated to 5 cm.
labor progressed successfully and Ollie was born at 7:59 am completely naturally!
It was everything I wanted it to be!
It was the hardest and indeed the most pain I've ever felt in my life but I would do it all over again in a heart beat!! My husband was amazing support and never left my side.
Ollie was born with perfect health weighing 7 lbs 10 oz and 20.5 inches long.
They released us in the evening the next day on the 17th and this was everyone's first encounter ☺️.
I'm truly the happiest I've ever been and I'm so thankful for everyone's encouragement, support, love, and kindness through my pregnancy! You're all amazing!! 💜💙💗
Everyone is getting along SO well (from a safe distance of course) Ollie doesn't react a bit to the loud noises and sleeps right through lol.
Although Gotcha and Letty have been INCREDIBLE and been relatively on the more quiet side, Gotcha hasn't thrown a tantrum yet! Lol
But thankfully when he does the nursery is on a different level of the house and the sound is dampened enough that it would be easy for Ollie to sleep through. 🙏🏻 😄😉
Anyways I hope you enjoy the video and thank you again from those who supported encouraged and loved on us. I wish I could hug you all! Lol
I will continue to make videos when I can between mothering my newborn and continuing to give the remainder of my love to the animals! ☺️💜

DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting a bird. They are a LIFETIME COMMITMENT!
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds.
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
If you are interested in a parrot, adopt one because you have the time, money, patience, energy and if you want to save them from a life stuck behind bars, not solely because they are cute or funny or talk etc.
Again parrots are a LIFETIME commitment.
They can live up to 80+ years!! Which means they just might outlive you, and where will they go if something happens to you and one day you don't come home? What will happen to them? Who will love them and care for them? All things to consider....
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots and other animals the best life they can possibly have!
It is an honor to share our lives with these amazing creatures, remember that....
Please do your research before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies.

Do you think they know? They seem to be very quiet and respectful...
Animals know what babies are! They're smarter than you think. Pitbulls especially are very tender and protective with young children. Many pitbulls actually used to be used as nanny dogs, dogs that guarded babies and children while their parents were out. They have an extremely high tolerance and are quite sweet.
I'm sure the birds know what a baby is, but they aren't mammals and express parenthood a bit differently than a dog or a human would (dogs and humans evolved with each other, so you'll find they parent quite similarly!) You might notice though that the birds watch Oliver intently. That's because birds usually watch over their young to make sure they're safe.
So, yes! The animals know what a baby is. They'll likely be very good family members.

Earth Tooth My pit mix used to sit under the baby swing and not let her boy out of her sight. She is still in love and he is almost 3. He cemented the bond by feeding her behind my back when he was learning to use a spoon. He would spoon yogurt into her mouth.
Twinkie so cute! My German shepherd did the same thing when my youngest was born! If she started crying, my dog would come & grab my hand gently in her mouth & lead me to the baby💖💖

Honestly, shout out to you for keeping your parrots AND having a baby! I know that people get married, or give up their parrots to raise a child. Of course I know you wouldn't give Gotcha or Letty up for any reason.
But it must have (and still is) hard to have a baby and parrots.
I've known about Oliver from your videos, but hadn't seen this one.

How could anyone give up a parrot to have a child. They're the same thing. I don't get that at all. You take a parrot into your family and you've effectively taken in a permanent 3yr old child with feathers. Who will prob out live you and needs a place in your will.
Gotcha is clearly in AWE and amazed. You can tell he's imprinting for sounds that give the new arrival a name. SOoooo holy and sweet 😇

I love when animals figure out that a baby is a member of their family. We slowly introduced our dogs to the babies in the family. The dogs came to be protective of the kids and when the kids began to crawl and then walk, the dogs stayed close by as if to watch over them. It's great for the kids too because they learn empathy.

Gotcha is such a sweet, funny bird! He seemed confused, then excited, and when Ollie was cooing, Gotcha seemed to have a very sweet, even spiritual understanding of Ollie.
I'm going to venture that your tactic with Gotcha of helping him overcome his fears/discomforts around objects will help him tremendously as the family adjusts to Ollie and his various noises and antics. I'm quite certain that had you simply removed the "scary" things from him, Gotcha would be very fearful and would be much more likely to act out at Ollie.

Kobi looks besides himself with delight and is probably fast forwarding a couple of years when Oliver can play ball LOL. Turbo looks as if he's still sussing him out, Letty is wondering why that small person is sat next to her Daddy and making funny noises and Gotcha's probably wondering when you're taking him back because small people are as scary as shiny wrapping paper or Mom's bunny eared onsie LOL. Newborns are such odd looking little things. My friend calls it "luggage stage" where they mostly just sleep and eat and poop and you can take them pretty much anyplace.

To me, they always look like they're born as little old men or women and get younger as they fill out. Benjamin Button style, though thankfully it doesn't last as long as that. He's so darn cute now, and well past the little old man stage, as I'm typing this a wee bit later than you posted! :-)

I really loved watching this delightful video! Ypu can tell how much love & respect you have for your animals. And Oliver is beautiful! God has blessed you with him. God is good. I love Gotcha's cage too. I had seen Gotcha before on a boat and thought he was so cool! You guys are fantastic at taming them. It's amazing how much one can love a bird - and you don't know this until you get one yourself. Love the doggies - my fave animal.

I'm surprised that Kobi the Pit still has a tail. That thing never stops wagging. That's one pitbull who knows he has found a great forever home. He's got a square meal and a place to sleep. He just don't care. So mellow. Oliver missed my birthday by 9 days.

Childbirth, natural especially, is and always has been quite a feat.

Ohhhh..... He's gorgeous! I love the short Benjamin Button phase that newborns go through. Born like beautiful little old men and women, all crinkled up, then they unfurl into babies. It's beautiful to watch. Oliver is absolutely adorable, not to mention one lucky little boy. If there's any truth to the belief that babies choose their parents then Oliver chose very wisely. Congratulations to you all (that includes Gotcha - hope he bonds closely with his new baby brother).

tomsan84 it's a big accomplishment for women who choose not to get an epidural** and succeed in doing so as an epidural is so commonly used and available these days.
100% natural doesn't just mean no epidural, it means zero pain medication, no aspirin, no Tylenol, etc.
So you can laugh all you want 😬. The majority of women that say they won't get or don't want an epidural or other pain meds end up getting them.
I'm gonna guess you're a male, and that's why you laugh cause you have no idea what child birth is actually like?? Lol

It's just that non of the women in my circles have used any type of pain relief (aspirin I wouldn't know). An epidural is actually not done unless medically absolutely necessary. It's, like I said, a very American thing. That all said; even though you see this as a major accomplishment, don't you think it's a bit strange to bloat about it in such a video?
tomsan84 understood. I disagree that I was gloating. It was a simple and quick blip of information shared. It was a goal of mine to go drug free and I was told "good luck" by most. So this way a lot of people found out without being individually told.
I do that sort of thing ALOT here on RUclips for frequently asked questions and such. It's exhausting having to explain something over and over and over.
So they get the info from a video or from the videos description.

I want to add, that I have had two children, and neither were natural, and yet I did not find her inclusion of that info to be odd or as gloating.
If had my children 100% naturally I _would_ proubably gloat about that every chance I could! Believe me, as a mother of two, going through the process twice, I find it amazing that she was able to do so naturally and have much respect and admiration for that.
So mad props to Oliver's mom for that!
