Hey buddy. This is nothing short of impressive Dean!!!! I also watched you help nathan were you remotely coded emissions off. Your wealth of knowledge is infinite with bmw/mini. No dealer/specialist can do that stuff. First time iv seen real oem used alongside programming. Very clever indeed bro.
Thanks mate no problem I have now fully done the whole service on this car now but I never recorded it as it was just toooooooo big of a job and it took me about 5 hours to do the whole thing slowly making sure it was all done properly so the car is nearly finished now finally and ready to roll in hoping to do a test drive video soon on this car
@@BMWDoctor looking forward to that bro. Yea looked a right long job pretty intense. Not for the faint hearted. Ok so your a pro...... on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate this job for the hobbyist who let's say🤔 would be savvy enough to confidently service this exact mini on there driveway? Attempt/or def dont?
Andy Caldwell mate for someone who’s not professional I would never advise this job this JOB is very very intense do not believe anyone or what you see take my word this car is a headache everything has to come off getting the vacuum lines back in are a nightmare they all break the clips man trust me this has been the worst car I have ever done and if you not confident trust me it’s a job better left alone and pay the £500 for a garage to do it trust me takes the stress out of it believe me my garage was a right mess
@@BMWDoctor I am a pro mate. I just like to know how u rate jobs mate. Only to allow the tech savvy hobbies make a decision. I personally have no exp with minis. I stick to bmw only. Altho I did watch this and think too myself......I'd defo take way more than 5 hrs first time round....plenty of swearing blood letting ect ect lol. Just nice to get your professional opinion on a scale of 1 to 10. Defo a job for the doctor matey🤙👍
@@caldwell1981ac mate if im honest with you its look worse then it is BUT once you have the bumper crash bar off and the fan thats it the whole engine is sitting right there and everything comes off easy but its very very time consuming worse thing is the supercharger oil was perfect and full didn't even need changing I was pissseeeeddd I took all that apart but I still had to replace thermostat waterpump and the crankshaft sensor seal so it was all worth it in the end and I got to look at everything else be advised tho all the red vacuum line clips will break and there is nothing you can do to avoid it trust me on that me I didn't even replace them I just stuck the vacuum pipes back in and that was that and there fine so far
Which makita model is that, I have tried a couple different brands and they don’t have enough torque to bust the retaining screw for the brake disc, and I don’t have air tools Great video
any tips how to get a good seal on the MTC snoot boots with a aftermarket intercooler? i am haveing allot of trouble getting it to not boost leak and i am looking at how you have done your clamps and it looks identical to mine? but mine leaks...
shame your camera died and you didn't show how you managed to get the KAVs pulley on. I've just bought a17% KAVS and the inner came bolted to the outer pulley. The inner mount won't come out no matter what you try. I removed the bolts, but could I get the inner part out???? NOPE!!!! So how do you fit this...do you warm it up and then fit to SC snoot or do you whack it on with a hammer? On the KAVs website it suggest using a 1200 sandpaper on the inside of the inner mount if its tight...doesnt make sense as you're meant to be able to swap the outer pulley easily incase yo want to go larger or smaller, but I can't even remove this off and I haven't even put it on the car yet. Any suggestions?
FAB VIDEO FAB JOB when can i bring mine for the same job? and how much? uv'e taught me so much watching your videos I don't think any 1 else should get the job but yr self DOC??
no you dont mate at all its a straight bolt on 19% pulley is basically a 20% and gives alot of power low down more then high up which is what I wanted its all personal preference and where you want the power either top end or low end if you want top end go for a 15% pulley or 17%
A lot of work done, excellent step by step guide with spot on explanation, A*.
do you recommend Oil catch can and have you ever had issue with aftermarket crank pully causing vibration
A bit tight in there nice job never see a pulley tool like that that’s why they did not change it a lot of work mate
Pretty straight forward job Dean you make it look easy. 👍
I would think at some point the supercharger oil was replaced, correct?
Would a 7 iron do instead of that BMW tool
When propping up the engine from underneath, did you also take off the lower engine mount? Thanks
I did indeed and used a jack to hold the engine up
@@BMWDoctor awesome, thanks 👍
just some advice, cover the intercooler with a bit of cardboard, those fins are delicate :)
What size belt do you use after you put the 19% pulley reduction on? It would help a lot thanks.
Did you ever find out the size of the belt for the 19% pulley?

Great vid, there is no way I'm practical enough to do this tho 🤣. Have you got an idea how much it would cost to do the mod at a garage?
Gordan Ramsey voice, but with cars lol
Good video but putting things on the intercooler was a bit cringe for me lol gotta keep that shit mint its on show as soon as you open the hood
if you see my other videos you will see I changed the intercooler I didn't keep this intercooler
