    It's just my opinion, but you see always dsee old, and young guys on a Harley/cruiser, but you seldom see a ( young at heart) old guy on a sportbike. I love it! Almost 50 here, and I'll keep sportbiking till i cant. And if I cant...well i'll still have one in the garage to reminisce . :)

    Beautiful bike. I have the J1 1991 version, even today these bikes are still near the top of a lot of riders' "most liked" list of bikes.
    My carbs need rebalancing though, running very rough with an uneven idle. Also runs worse when hot due to excess air....

    Your K1 is very similar to my old bike which I regrettably PX'd in 1998 i only say that because mine also had a blue seat which i haven't seen on any other K1. My old K1 reg was A2XRR . Has the callipers been changed or painted on your bike because UK standard K1's had gun metal grey colour twin pots on the front and same colour single on the back.

    • @nigelburch9388
      @nigelburch9388  3 года назад +2

      Could be, who knows!? That original rego would like have been sold before I got it. Yes, calipers should be gunmetal, but they were in a shocking state and a)I didn't have any grey paint and b) I like the gold look!

      @@nigelburch9388 Don't know if your aware the K1 has a smaller battery then the normal J1 in that it is fiscally smaller and is only 8Amph instead of 10 as the J1 has. This means it only ever just about keeps a charge when you run the bike and go's flat quick if you don't run it. I'm mentioning it because i saw you had a bit of trouble starting in your vid. Kawasaki did this to save weight and space under the seat as the bike was meant for racing most racers had more than one battery. The only down side is if the battery does not have sufficient volts/Amps the bike wont run well because when the throttle is open past 3/8 of a turn or 5000 rpm the fuel accelerator pump doesn't work correctly. The pump runs a fuel enrichening circuit to the flat slide carbs.

      @blipco5 2 года назад

      You must learn on an easy bike, you'll better focus on what it takes to stay healthy when riding. Pick up a Honda cbr500 as suggested. It's a cool bike that you just may want to keep forever. Even a big cc scooter can teach you the ways of the road. You're young and have all the time in the world. Don't rush motorcycles.
