The mezzo soprano is one of the best I’ve heard and I attend a Handel’s Messiah performance every year. I too wish I could learn which orchestra this was,
Saved, thank you! This is the performance I watch every year, but the vid I used to watch has vanished, so thanks for posting! Bless you and Merry Christmas.
I also look for this every year. It is amazing. Very emotional performance . Who is the conductor and which musical group is this? Are they using period instruments? Where are they? I have so many questions.
I could not agree more, gadav1064. I wish I knew the names of the soloists, particularly the tenor singing, "Thou willst not let Thy Holy One to see corruption" and the mezzo soprano who sings, " How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings.." I'd like both to have a recording of this performance, preferably a link that stays active or a a dvd of. I'd also like to follow these artists. Thank you for keeping this performance on RUclips. Much thanks!!!
My favorite performance of this magnificent piece! Thank you for sharing this! As another poster said, it "disappeared" from my playlist, as well. Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎶🎄🎶
How I have tried to find a better recording of this utterly superb performance

Collegium Vocale 1704, conducted by Vaclav Luks
I listen every year…this is the very best performance of Messiah.
I listen every month

How is it possible? That this performance has just 11 Likes? Superb! Thank you.
Hi the original post had over a million. Not sure why it was taken down.

I believe the group is Collegium 1704 along with Collegium Vocale 1704 and soloists. Based in Prague.
Nice, brisk tempos. No self-absorbed dwelling with this crowd. Really like it. The bass melismas are superb. Well done guys! Shona Nollaig!
Fast tempo.. beautiful performance

So sad that the video is so poor, what a glorious job they did. If anyone know's another place this can be found it would be marvelous.
What was the original one removed? Anyways thanks for bringing it back!
The original is still here: ruclips.net/video/JH3T6YwwU9s/видео.html
