Superb rendition of my favourite baroque work, a creation of genius by GF Handel. You never tire of hearing Handel because you keep noticing little nuances that hitherto escaped you.
The perfect mix between elegance and virtuosity. Händel used a lot of counterpoint, so each melodic voice is outstanding. In the last movement the contrast between the soloists and the ripieno is great, and the musicians enjoyed it very much. Excellent interpretation
This concerto is one of my favorites by handel, and this interpretation is my favorite, a subtle harmonic balance between the instruments and a real complicity between the performers that transcends the score. I regret living far from Bremer, it would be a real pleasure to listen to you live. THANKS.
@@AloeAntinousAquila55 Absolutely. we must not forget them. Although I must admit that Delalande, De Mondeville I do not know. I have to look outside my German sphere.😀
Don’t forget the Italians : Vivaldi, the 2 Scarlatti, Pergolese, Corelli , Boccherini ….. And among the French add the glorious Charpentier…. His Te Deum is a monument !
Perhaps the most original and exquisitely joyful concerto from his op. 6 set played with virtuosic aplomb! One sensed they all enjoyed playing off each other. Great performance.
Of the millions of music pieces of all stripes, this my favorite music, Handel's Opus 6 and Opus 3. And also his Concerti a Due Cori. How can one man think up all these lovely melodies and orchestrations In the 1700s? So joyfull. And I can see that I am not alone, more live performances keep appearing on RUclips. As well as more Bach and Vivaldi. Yum yum.
What can I say, I simply love you all - your artistry and love of music soothes my soul and naturally melancholic nature. Your music uplifts me, a light of hope shining through a dark and scary world. Thank you.

The comfort of their wonderful and captivating performances is irreplaceable , and far superior splendor There is nothing like the luxury of appreciating cherry blossoms in full bloom in the moonlight on a Spring night while listening to this paramount performance From Tokyo where cherry blossoms are falling
Superb rendition! Scintillating performance...note subtle augmentation Flute+ Recorder for richness! One of my favourite works from Op.6!! Bravo Tutti!;->
That leading violinist there with the purple scarf-thing draped over one shoulder...aaahhh, be still my heart! How he makes that violin to sing like a soprano soloist! Such high, tremulous little notes! Most of the time, the violin sounds so sad -- a sweet and delicate sadness, though, not sharp and bitter -- but not here. It takes on a rather playful tone!
Nothing to add about the performance! But also, what glorious sound quality (listen with decent headphones if possible) - it starts with the ensemble, of course, but much credit to the recording engineers & audio producer. A beautiful balance of instruments and room ambiance, expertly distributed across the stereo field.
Too Echoey. The Cavernous Vaults of a Gothic Cathedral may very well suit the sounds of Gregorian Chant wafting up to Heaven, but they are hardly the ideal Acoustic for a modest Baroque Orchestra. That being said, the Orchestra played the Handel Concerto Grosso Brilliantly. Tho personally I would have taken the Second Movement at a more leisurely pace. What's the big.hurrry ? Oftimes performances of Baroque Music are ruined by runaway Conductors without a Train, more concerned with bravura pyrotechnics than with the Heart & Beauty of the Music.
Disagree about the venue. The larger church offers superb acoustics and lively presence, but it is up to the recording engineers to place their microphones to take advantage of what is offered. Succeeded very well here. Certainly better than a dry little "studio"!
Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a purpose built Concert Hall, like those excellent Venues in Dublin and Vienna. That being said, some equally excellent, exciting & extraordinary Recordings of all kinds of Musick have been made in Studios over the years. Abbey Road comes to.mind.
@@fredericconolly4767Abbey Road is not that great of an example. Performing and recording classical music from the Baroque would be more suited in large venues. More modern music the Beatles would be suited for the audio tweaking in studios.

I've always agreed with Beethoven's admiration of Handel. Handel's concerti are such a delight.
The great Handel would have clapped his hands after hearing Bremer Barockochester's performance of his concerto
I am helplessly lost in the baroque swamp. Bach and Handel are the giants.
I also am hopelessly lost, and it is wonderful
indeed 🐬 Delalande ,Lully ,De Mondeville ,Quantz add to the euphorie 🎶🥰

This is absolutely amazing, heavenly music, such beautiful phrasing and light articulation.
Handel at his best played by some of the world's finest interpreters of Baroque music.
I never get tired of listening to it. Wonderful sound and playing.
Bravissimo! A splendid performance of a classic.
Thank you.
Amazing composition, performance, and scarf!
I find the scarf somewhat pretentious
@@heron6462 That's why it's fun.
@@heron6462 We listen to baroque music, we're all probably pretentious
@@djbabymode So do I - a lot; and I play it, too. My comment was limited to the scarf.
I thought Dr. Who had made an appearance
Superb, thank you vey much.
Händel The Great in all his genius !

The best video (and music) on your channel.
Superbe, quelle musique et quels interprètes, ils vivent chaque note, chaque phrase, chaque inflexion.

Handel always being so handelian...
BTW: I love the concerto grosso italiano and the corellian reminiscent themes and structures.

Weitaus besser als die Bremer Stadtmusikanten.

Onofri did the scarf better; this leader looks like a package. Humor aside, excellent performance!
The scarf, I guess it's OK..his performance trump's the scarf.
