It’s clear that every single member of the orchestra here was committed to one goal - namely, perfection. It’s apparent in their body language and expressions. These guys love this music as much as we do listening to them. Thanks
Your Sonata in D and this piece reignited my current interest in classical music. This was such an amazing collection of dedicated musicians. Thank you for sharing them with all of us.
So nice to hear the trumpet of the baroque period (not the baroque trumpet) played so beautifully. The dialogue between trumpet and violin is exquisite. And what a fine orchestra, with such excellent musicians.
@@mijola2476 The trumpet used in the baroque period was a natural trumpet, like the one used in this recording, played on the lips and held in one hand. The so-called "baroque trumpet" used in most orchestras is an invention of the 1960s passed off by the unscrupulous as the real thing. It has fingerholes and must be held in two hands, and is thus a completely obvious anachronism. My book "Henry VIII's Motorcycle" (available on Amazon) gives an excellent overview of this long-running confusion. With best wishes for the season!
@@bobbarclay8683 thank goodness for someone else who is saying what I've thought about those brass things perforated "vented" with holes. If you had shown up with one of those in the 1600's the guild would most likely smashed in your front teeth.
It’s so awesome to discover how many excellent and relatively unknown ensembles are playing seldom heard pieces by famous composers such as Telemann, which are available to us on the internet! And this is one of them! I really have to exclaim about the valveless “trumpet” player, whose mastery of his instrument and the extremely difficult music is nothing less than stunning!
Meraviglioso Telemann, interpretazione sfavillante, pura felicità per chi ascolta : BRAVI ! Incredibile maestria di Zimmermann con la tromba naturale : una vera magia !!
Another wonderful performance from this great little orchestra. I'm beginning to appreciate the attractive personalities of the regular musicians! Is it my imagination, or do they seem to have more fun playing Telemann than other composers? Well, he is an (almost) local boy....but I have always thought that the composer's special way with the Baroque, which not only blends nearly seamlessly French and Italian styles, but encapsulates deep folk influences which surface spontaneously (as in the delightful rigaudon!) brings wide audience appeal. It certainly did in the 1700s, and can do today!
Having played a lot of telemann, there is something about his music that is both extremely satisfying to play (he writes very well for the instrumrnts without being too hard to play perhaos), and every time his music works in performance and audiences love it. Thats a rare quality for a composer to be both extremely fun to play and come alive for audiences very easily and naturally.
Awesome Julian on the natural trumpet! I treasure a few old recordings from Edward Tarr, Don Smithers and Crispian Steele-Perkins demonstrating natural trumpets without holes, and it's great to finally see it coming on the concert stage!!!
I agree this takes ‘natural’ trumpet playing to another level. Zimmermann and Madeuf are an absolute revelation. Congratulations also to the fine orchestra. Thanks for posting this. CS-P
Agreed, the re-discovery of the clarino coming to fruition, but I would not be without your recordings, or the many concerts at which I still remember your own wonderfully buoyant and elegant playing.@@crispiansp

This is MIRACULOUS stuff. CELESTIAL EXQUISITE SUBLIME PRISTINE PURITY. How wonderful to listen to such perfection in a world where trashy soulless plastic so called "music" is dominant. And the trumpet player is simply a GENIUS effortlessly plying his glorious craft.
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful performance. Telemann, along with Bach and Händel, are the three great baroque musicians and even the three great musicians of all time..
@@leonardotarabella1461 Yes, why not? And also Albinoni and Corelli. The three best german baroque musician and the three best italian baroque musician. To complete the list, we would add Charpentier, Rameau and Lully. Do you agree with me? Thanks for posting. Greetings.
Quite Superb!! Beautifully nuanced Performance! Believe it was Steve Zohn's contention that an Ouverture-suite with Furies>>may be attached to an Opera (Lost??) Great work Tutti.Bravo!!!
Aaahahah!

How much does one have to give to become an "especially" recognized donor? Seriously.
C’est vraiment très bien le Bremer Barokorchestrer.
Telemann's genius is often overlooked today. That wasn't always the case.

perhaps you could enlighten us as to the difference between 'the trumpet of the baroque period' and 'the baroque trumpet'.

The wonderfulness and comfort of Telemann‘s music are immesurable , and unfathomable, and beyond indescribable

The Plainte. Lent. is very moving! You have so much joy making music together!
Wonderful job Julian. It's especially impressive since it was live. The ensemble was also very well balanced. Kudos to the sound engineers.

He is "The Man", control, sound, intonation and musicality. Just wow!
It's so good to see a tightly formed orchestra again!
Splendide. Quelle volupté dans les envolées. Un très grand moment baroque, vraiment. Bravo

Dr. Kimble: I did NOT play that trumpet. It was the one armed man!
Marshall: I don't care!

참으로 바로크음악도 아름답군요. 그런데 트럼펫은 어떻게 연주하지요. 미스터리하네요?
