No-Nonsense design had been at the forefront of the Toyota Cars and Fortuner isn't differentiated. I liked the massive road presence of the Fortuner and necessary features too.

Although I am an Endeavour guy I always loved the 1st gen Fortuner
I remember when the Fortuner was not a politician’s car, rather a macho looking SUV that dominated both on and off-road.
It still is those things, but the old one has that charm the new one loses…
We used have this beast , miss this beast so much 🥺 had to sell because of the stupid 10 yr diesel rule in delhi 🥺
The reason why I like the fortuner is purely for its drive, engine and offroad capabilities, for me the ride isn't bad at all! (talking about the old one since the newer one is not of my taste)
After 2 years of searching, 6 months ago I manged to find a clean first generation fortuner done genuine 35k kms with service history from Toyota and still running on original factory tyres. Closed the deal in less than 5 mins. Did the service and got new set of all terrain tyres by Michelin and blindly went to Ladakh. 6500+ kms and came back without any hiccup. Best used car purchase decision ever

Me and my dad have been rallying with the first gen fortuner all over northeast and we've never faced any major damages or opportunities where we've thought maybe we need a newer car, yes the tech is all there but Old is gold and recently once we did get the newer one alongside till date I still prefer driving the old one since you can just carelessly thrash it around

We have this 1gen fortuner best thing I like is while crusing at 80-100 range of i need to over take just gentle tap of acceleration car easy overtakes no downshift even with 7 passengers in car 🔥
I also own old fortuner and One thing I strongly disagree with the fuel economy what Faisal has mentioned that it gives 8 in city and 10 on highway. It completely depends how you have maintained your car, secondly I am still shelling out 11-11.5 in city and 14-15 out on the highway(city speed between 40-60 and highway 70-80) if you are driving light foot. On MMID it displays 12.5 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl on highway. I have also drove 150 kmph constantly on Purvanchal Expressway for two hours (From Mau to Lucknow) which is 300 kms and then too From full tank (80 litres) it only went to half tank(40 litres) thereby giving an average of 7.5 kmpl which is actually fantastic for a 12 year old car which has covered 132000 kms on odo.

@@yogershsharma Terracan was a 18 lac rupee vehicle in 2005, the land cruiser was 30 lacs in 2005 itself , the Sante fe was a successor to the terracan , also the terracan was only priced so high as it was not made in India and was a CBU , where only 1000 vehicles were sold in India

When they release the new gen they should do these changes: with must needed refinement with same 2.8L and introduce panaromic sunroof(not necessary but claustrophobic people will have better time in the car) and give adas maybe addin smart hybrid from maruti, even mileage will increase by 2 or 3 kms, better the seats even more, increase the length by little bit and increase the wheelbase little bit for more accomodation for passengers. Perfect vehicle, and retain the design or make subtle changes not heavy or make it even more butch looking.

i dont know if you know this but there is was a feature in 2004 model when it was first time launched the 2004 fortuner had a carbon steering wheel however maybe the 2009 model looks a bit good but i do agree the brakes the brakes are pretty poor and slippry

If you are not living delgi it's still vfm as a proper maintained one can run over 10 lakhs km , tye only car comparison to this will be something from suzuki like a gypsy with the old g13b engine anything after that it's a complete crop of engine , so yes even I'm searching for a fortuner n I'm trying to find a manual one and a 4wd , the prices I'm seeing are around 5 -7 lakhs and they are literally bulletproof tge only thing you might need a upgrade would be breaks , upgrade them and you uave something which would eat most of tge other cars

Bro can you tell me why luxury car companies miss really cool and interesting features like rear wheel steering in merc c class, magic ride control. Although we pay more than what other countries pay for it. We never said we won't pay extra for these features but these are not present even as an option. Why so expensive bmw x1 misses out on simple features like ventilated seat that a 15l car gets.
