Oh, they are buddy and you gotta remember that’s where a lot of good members that were in the original lineup got poached and the other bands never forget that!!
They should’ve been invited to the big four because they were doing it way before metallica Megadeth, any of those bands other than iron maiden, which is a completely different kind of music!!!
I saw these guys open for anthrax on this tour, the pit during exodus was so intense that they stopped the show for about 20 minutes because all of the event security got fucked up. The 80s shows were a blast.
For Damn sure Been a Testament Exodus Death Angel fan from the beginning grew up in concord Just went to a concert of those 3 in October felt 19 again had to mosh best time I had in quite awhile
I was too young to live it in the 80s...BUT, I got to live the 90s in Romania (went back there for school after 89), growing up, concerts, brutal mosh pits (they called in Pogo). All the pent up rage after communism, the bloodshed of 89, the bloody protests of 90 and 91 I took part in....yeah, it toughens you up so much, that bashing your buddys skull in just for fun was...fun LOL. I think a lot of our problems today would be solved by throwing everyone in a mosh pit at least once in their life.
90s Thrash was amazing. I saw Exodus, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies in 1990 at the Superbowl of Hardcore at the old Ritz in NYC. It was my 1st Thrash show.
***** Right on brother, I'll be 47 this summer and my first show was Kiss in 1977. Still own the Tour program and I had Paul sign it last year when he was here in town on his book tour. Rock on brother!
+ZBlacktt I AM 47 and still like good thrashing (not some moaning and whining shit), but I like punk, post-punk and hard core as well. Also like other genres like classical, jazz, even goa and some electronic subgenres... There's a lot of good music and good stuff can be found across almost all spectrum of music. But to find something good in soul and rap is entirely impossible. That shit should have been forbidden by the law.And yes, Exodus is THE trash as it should be. Turn the volume to the max and bang your head.
Here's a Mosh Bucket List for you in no particular order. (Or, how many of these have you already experienced?) 1. Exodus - "Toxic Waltz" 2. Testament - "Into The Pit" 3. Overkill - "Fuck You" 4. Anthrax - "Caught In A Mosh" 5. Kreator - "Pleasure To Kill" 6. Metallica - "Battery" 7. Megadeth - "Holy Wars/The Punishment Due" 8. Slayer - "Angel of Death"
"Caught in a Mosh" is still the hardest pit I've ever been in. I find it interesting because I believe Anthrax is a fantastic entry level Metal show for new commers as they are pretty friendly and the crowd is too, but the moment "Caught in a Mosh" or "Gung-ho" start, damn that was hard. Harder than any Slayer mosh I've been in and I don't say that lightly
***** I feel you man, persoanlly I really like Zetro. His attitude, his charisma and overall badassness. Not to fond of his voice, sometimes it sounds like too scratchy but you get used to it.

Loved these fuckers in high school!! Was a must have album back in the day along with the usual suspects Pantera, Testament, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, etc. The real proof metal had "arrived" was my junior year seeing "Toxic Waltz" t-shirts with the footprints, etc on it at a fucking Fred Meyer store. Wow! But yeah, is it just me or does this guy sound like Bobby "Blitz" of Overkill?... another fine metal act.

@@richseely3381 No, Overkill rules. Just that Pantera is from a different era. Though they saved metal in the 90s when Metallica released Load and grunge was ruling. Love both Overkill and Pantera too much ❤️

the holt / hunolt duo with their exchange of guitar solos surpasses any group but the powerful voice of Zetro and the forcefulness of the drummer. Exodus is in fact among the greats. live Exodus.
I am a relative geezer now but grew up in the 80s. Metal always seemed pretty much underground and was basically Priest, Maiden, Sabbath, Dio, Accept and Scorpions. Bands like Metallica, Exodus, Overkill, Motorhead, Testament and Slayer took the chops of metal and combined it with the aggression of punk to make thrash. Metal really never reigned but always had a loyal fan base compared to those who follow pop and go with the flavor of the week. Sorry to geeze but that is my two cents.
i would love to see a tour with a shitload of thrash metal heroes from the old bands just playing all the old songs together , an all star jam with whoever is still alive and kicking
If only someone could invent a time machine I'd happily travel back to the 80's and early 90's to see all these bands. We just played this at my best friends wedding and me the best man, groom and groomsman all moshed to it while the brides family and bridesmaids all where basically horrified.
Saw Exodus on the Headbangers ball tour with Anthrax and Helloween. Got the last 2 tickets in Philly. Front row at the Tower theater in Upper Darby, pa.
Aaron Mester People who say they don't like megadeth has never heard Rust in Peace. I will admit they haven't been good since endgame, but Rust in Peace is a masterpiece.
If i had to explain to someone what thrash metal is I would just put on this video and explain as it goes, it really captures the entire genre and culture in one video.
This always takes me back to 8th grade year, i had tons of bootlegged vhs tapes of music videos & tour/home videos from all sorts of bands, including Exodus. I hated everytjing about life at that point EXCEPT FOR MUSIC!!! Still do, pretty much.
I have listened to hundreds, upon hundreds, of metal bands, an i am convinced that EXODUS is the most UNDERRATED metal band of ALL TIME.

Oh shit it's Metal Jesus! I was gonna say something like "wow you listen to good music" but I mean, no duh lol
anthrax and exodus rule they are primal back then and they still are
Who cares? They tour more than Metallica and Anthrax and their shows don't cost hundreds of dollars lol

Suicidal Tendencies-"You Can't Bring Me Down"
Overkill - "electro-violence"
I'm nearly a 50 year old lady and I still remember EVERY word to this song. 🤘🤘
Ya all have NO idea how hard and brutal the mosh pit was on this tour. Either you still have sore spots or you missed it
crinoid1919 This is a REAL MOSH PIT, not like the circle jerks that pass for pits today.
Saw them yesterday. My father who saw them back in the day said the pit looked as tough. Salute to the old schoolers
Josh Correa saw them yesterday too, did you see them at the Paramount in Long Island?

Here's a new dance craze that's sweeping the nation
It's called the toxic waltz and it's causing devastation
You're jumping up and down like a psycho circus clown
Slamming with waltzers all the way around
You get caught up in the whip, you thrown into a flip
You aim for someone's head to stain the floor red
Give someone a kick to prove you're truly sick
Bounce back from some blows and blood runs out your nose
Flailing round and round and you're injury bound
Waltz it up!
The pit is it!
You can take your chance on this rough new dance
If you dare!
To dive in!
There are some that try, but they won't survive
They don't hit!
'Cause they're wimps!
And this exercise helps you brutalize
With us!
Exodus!
Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Kick your friend in the head and have a ball
Come on and do the toxic waltz
And slam your partner against the wall
Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Good friendly violent fun in store for all
Get up off your ass and toxic waltz
If you hit the floor, you can always crawl!
Used to do the monkey, but now it's not cool
The twist and mashed potato are no exception to the rule
So don't be a dunce and dance like a runt
Just throw your elbows with good friendly violent fun
Don't start to cry if you get a black eye
Just dive back in and give another try
But too much action may leave you in traction
So you better get insurance, no matter your endurance
Flailing round and round and you're injury bound
Waltz it up!
The pit is it!
You can take your chance on the rough new dance
If you dare!
To dive in!
And there are some that try, but they wont survive
They dont hit!
'Cause they're wimps!
And this exercise helps you brutalize
With us!
Exodus!
Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Kick your friend in the head and have a ball
Come on and do the toxic waltz
And slam your partner against the wall
Everybody's doing the toxic waltz
Good friendly violent fun in store for all
Get up off your ass and toxic waltz
If you hit the floor you can always crawl!
Get up on your feet
Don't look so obsolete
And thrash like an athlete!
Don't sit there on your ass
Don't look like you got too much class
You'll be harassed!
You know we guarantee this is the key
So rage or get the third degree!
You begin frontal assaults and start your somersaults
And do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Do the toxic waltz!
Some of us are Dads and we need to turn this over to our sons/daughters so they can keep it true.
My kids love when "dad" listens to his music.
God Bless Metal.

Forgotten big 4: testament, exodus, overkill and death angel. I'd even add flotsam and jetsam as well for an honorable mention
Late ass response, but y u no lie Razor?
these damn scene kids need to watch this and see how to mosh instead of playing rig around the Rosie and running in circles.
+Timothy Quinn Lol every metal show I went to had real metal heads circle pitting.
those only are fun when you got people running both ways.
Rico Pacheco for real, metal bands call for circle pits all the time, I don't know what this guys going on about.
Timothy Quinn that's why you run against it man hit it head on
Or that dumbass "shadow punching" shit.
One of the greatest thrash songs of ALL time!!!!!
I went to an EXODUS concert and got smahed in the pit. I loved it.
If i had to explain to someone what thrash metal is I would just put on this video and explain as it goes, it really captures the entire genre and culture in one video.
