Okay, I hear you. BUT, and hear me out. This is the worst idiom ever. The whole POINT of a books cover is so that you can judge it at a glance and decide if you wanna read it or not. Like the message of the idiom makes sense and is nice but literally only doesn’t apply to books.

Damn I need therapy or smth

I'm sorry dood, hope that doesn't deter you from being social and making friends. Remember if the Thumb can get many ladies (big ed from 90 day fiancée), so can you, just build upon your confidence, little by little. Some advice I can offer is offering a nice compliment to yourself in the mirror every day.

Sometimes its okay to judge a book by its cover. But when it comes to "Ew i dont want to be with them" or "They look snobby and annoying". I just say to not be like oh thats their personality because thats what they look like. I just want sterotyping to not exist. You never know what a person will be like untill you try to know. Most of the time you dont fully know a person cause you arent that person
Me: Wow, you seem really toxic!
Me: *notices the Steven Universe poster*
Me: Well, that checks out.
Woah you are so unique you judge people by looks i thought no person on earth do that lol.
You seem upset
I see the people in the comments are taking the metaphor from only one angle. A book can have a very appealing cover and still have a bad story. This is why the metaphor exists. Sure we all judge people based on how they look , even subconciously and thats fine. Its our nature. But what I understand from the metaphor is not everyone is what they seem but everyone deserves a chance. It doesn't have to be two chances. Just a chance

also Malala is now married
haha but irony is that the author spends their whole time writing rather than worrying about the book cover
Exactly. These people are too shallow to see the book's worth on mere cover for 5 seconds
@@envylake2565 Yes and what's wrong with the guy she showed in the beginning of the video, I found nothing wrong, how can people judge others by just their appearance, thats totally wrong and it's the misuse of our brain
all judgement stems from our own insecurities lol

Everyone judges people man but we don't TREAT them differently! You aren't a bad person all bc of that bc i mean i judge people but i still treat everyone with respect yk???
'Don't judge a book by its cover' Simply means: Be an open minded person. someone that knows that sometimes a book's cover doesn't do justice to the story that it has inside.
Also: For having preconceived opinions based ONLY on the cover of the book, ( which is really like 1% information about the whole book ) you are the one that is missing an opportunity to potentially read a fantastic story.
Okay, I hear you. BUT, and hear me out. This is the worst idiom ever. The whole POINT of a books cover is so that you can judge it at a glance and decide if you wanna read it or not. Like the message of the idiom makes sense and is nice but literally only doesn’t apply to books.
thanks, I'll keep this in mind the next time I'm shopping for books !

this might be the best video ive seen on the internet, the un-format of this format is so cool. subscribed.
fine I'll get on that. because there's a difference between accepting that your brain is wired to judge people by their appearances but it's another to actively and intentionally do it

Alright but maybe don’t judge people with physical disabilities
Most people don't care at all about anyone with physical deformities, they become 'invisible' in the first place.
She didn’t say anything about disability tho.
@@ifisawyourreplyiwillanswerback If you judge someone based on their looks, the moment you see someone with a disabilitie like Stephen Hawking you'll judge their appearence. That's what he was saying.
well if someone is poor they can't always be fashionable and pretty so I think it's not very nice to do that but whatever people in this generation are judgemental for everything
if you have to actually deconstruct why a metaphor isn't literal for 10 minutes you are the problem
Ikr? It's always been hilarious to me that there are people who try to disprove metaphors that shouldn't apply 100% of the time, and yet are terribly proud of themselves =D
@@syressx9098 because it is a natural thing for us to judge people or everything. It is a trait that human species adopted because of natural selection and evolution.
I'm sure we all judge people to some extent by their appearance. Though I don't use that as an indicator of their personality.
A month ago I had this certain book all around my newsfeed but I didn't pay much attention to it for a whole year due to it's wackadoo title and uninteresting "cover" until I finally ran out of books to read which forced me to give it a chance. Then BOOM! I completely fell inlove with the book! Couldn't believe how much I hated myself for not giving it a chance sooner, and then decided to never judge a book by it's cover ever again! It was honestly a beautiful feeling but not that most of you will care.

Your making a candid doesn't make it any better. It goes against the human endeavour of making people more than their optics. Lots of people will appreciate your honesty. I don't. I don't usually drop negative comments. But this one is deserved.
Anybody that doesn't know the difference between "adage" and "metaphor" would probably also be daft enough to judge people based on their appearance. No surprises here.

Looks doesn't have anything to do with people's personalities. You can't justify treating someone badly just cause they don't look good.
yes, but they said they just tend to think of peoples' personalities on the basis of their looks. this person never really specified if they actually treat those people how they think of them, just thoughts.
Thus video gave me life. The disorganised thoughts just made me feel right at home.

Sometimes you gotta judge a book by its cover to keep safe. If I try to make a friend or buy from someone and they look off, you gotta judge em. Not judging a book by its cover is valid, but judging one is just as valid tbh.
