This was an apples to oranges comparison. Hand holding the IPad Pro and not having it on a tripod, moving left to right like you were and not standing in the same spot and not capturing upper and lower angles is what made the iPad version so bad. I’m sure you’ve since had better results, but if all things were the same the quality of both is very similar. Matterport still wins but for most use cases, the iPad is sufficient.
I guess so. I try. Not really my forte. In either case, the results of the iPad are pretty bad. If you have a good example, by all means share with me.
As of Feb 2021 (after this video was created) Materport now utilizes the LiDAR 3D sensor on the iPad Pro and iPhone Pro models... not only that, they provide some demo scans done with iOS LiDAR. They look just as good if not better than the $3000 Pro.2 camera.
What is the different between a scan of an iphone 13 Pro with Matterport axis and the matterport pro2? Measurment and picture quality would be interesting for me.
The sensor size is the biggest difference bigger sensor lets in more light and gives you a better image quality the matterport is also 134 Megapixels thus giving your better quality over your typical iPhone is right under 12 Mega pixels. The plans offered are also not available for the matter port a bit more expensive if you choose to go with the v2 as the 10.99 plans aren't available for it.

As a photographer, I can't wait to test that on my incoming iPad Pro!

Is the lidar datas useful or matterport doesn't use them?
You need you balance your audio! Nice comparison video nonetheless. Thanks!!
Yes, I need to definitely up my video game. Some thing I would like to do more of and I know I need some work. Thank you for watching.
Why not use ipad on a tripod?
I don’t know but it was 3 years ago so not even very relevant anymore. I should have though.
