    So after running these lights for about 5 months I started to have flickering and dimming of the headlights. I have now switched to the lasfit headlights with much better performance and life span. Many others have had failures with the oxilam bulbs anywhere between 2 and 6 months. So here is a link for the lasfit set and they also offer many different tiers of bulbs as well. amzn.to/3UlJlJQ

      @joenagele6282 well they do. It's a bulb type. If it's the same type as what the vehicle requires then of course it will work. It's bc not every China brand updates every year with what vehicles have what bulbs.

      Tonight my brother and i are going to put LED headlights in our nephew's new 2024 Colorado. Your video has great info.
      I also wanted to comment on the flickering which I had on my 2023 Silverado and went to Canadian Tire (car parts in Canada) and bought the IGNITE anti flicker devices for 23 bucks and all my flickering problems went away and they have been working fine for over a year. The lights I used were GT MOTO H11. Maybe this will help some folks whoa re having flickering with their LED headlamps.

    I just did mine. Haven't been out at night yet, but the way they light up buildings when I park in the daylight leads me to believe they'll be pretty bright. Also the car looks so much better than before. It was about time since one of my bulbs was about 9 years old and the other was the original from 2009.

    Hey Tony, Thank you for these video’s as an owner of a 23 Colorado Trail Boss, I really enjoy these videos, practically following along and making the same mods on my own. I think another viewer mentioned this but I noticed that the auto start-stop on the truck which comes standard (can’t get it without it) makes these lights flicker when I’m at a stop, etc. Pretty sure people think I’m flashing them at night.
    I’m trying to train myself to remember to disable the auto-stop/start (flip the switch) when i get in the vehicle bus was curious if there was a way around this. I’ll deal with it because the LED vs Halogen is unreal but thought I’d ask?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  Год назад +1

      Ya it's kind of annoying I feel the same way and I try to remember to shut the auto start off as well but always for get. In order to resolve it you would need to install capacitors in line with the light to hold a little power in the lights when the engine is starting

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  Год назад +1

      @vlldavid you have to make sure the tabs are lined up correctly. Each tab is a specific size so it only allows it to drop in straight, one way. There should be 0 resistance when putting the bulb in the housing. Then a little pressure to turn the bulb. Nothing should be forced or at an angle. Try rotating the bulb more before turning it. You probably have the wrong tabs lined up

    Tony I added the same headlights and blinkers that you did. I did it the 1st weekend I owned the new Trail Boss. After doing so I noticed my blind spot detectors coming on all the time with nobody around and also the headlights are on all the time, even while the Auto button is on. I think during the daylight they should turn off and the running lights come on. But that does not happen for me. I took the truck to the dealer and they blamed the LED's. So I put the cheap halogens back in ( I kept them) and I still had the same problems. I don't know if the blind spot detection is related but maybe it is. So then I took it back to the dealer and they had to order some kind of new module. I have been waiting for that for 2 weeks now. The GM strike is causing delays. But I was wondering if you have had any issues like that.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  11 месяцев назад

      My headlights do stay on unless I switch them to the off position but I don't mind that. But I haven't had any issues with my blind spot detectors, I would have probably done the same thing in your shoes. I hope you get it figured out. Keep me updated

    how do the low beams keep cool when there is a cap blocking the air? or am i over thinking it?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  6 месяцев назад

      It just circulates the air in the headlight. Unfortunately overheating is the number one thing that destroys leds. And while some of these lights are designed with good cooling fans some are also very poorly designed. Alot of people are actually having issues with the oxilam bulbs and I'm switching the the lasfit headlights as well. Just a better quality light. I'll have a video on them coming soon

    • @calebkeller8226
      @calebkeller8226 Год назад +1

      @@TonyTheTechnician Appreciate the reply Tony! I can confirm the fitments below:
      Rear brake: 7443 / 7440
      Rear turn signal: 7443 / 7440 (have not found LEDs that don't hyperflash yet)
      Reverse lights: 921 / 912
      Third brake light: 921 / 912
      Third brake light (cargo lamps): 921 / 912
      Interior dome/map lights: T10 / 194 (careful with lights in rear of cab, stiff getting out and very prone to shattering if you use pliers)
      I'll try a couple more bulbs for the rear turn signals with built in resistors but I'm thinking a hard wire resistor will more than likely be needed in the end.

    I tried clicking the link you provided in the description for the Oxilam LED Headlights, but it seems to be a dead link. I tried finding the exact ones that you used using amazon and their website but just to be on the safe side, do you think you could provide a working link to the ones you used specifically?

    • @TonyTheTechnician

      Oxilam at the time had already been used at the time. So I knew they would fit. Where as the lasfit had a bigger housing and I wasn't sure if it would fit

      Do not buy these oxilam bulbs. Look at the lasfit brand. Many people including myself have started to have issues with these bulbs anywhere from 2 to 6 months of use.

      Yes the led bulb is fully in with the correct tabs alligned... the back of the fan housing on the LED contacts the recessed surface of the cap preventing tabs from locking.
