You know I haven’t had allot to smile about for a long time. The song brought a instant smile to my face as soon as I head the first 10 seconds. It’s like falling asleep in 1997 then waking up realizing it’s 2021. This is the 2021 version of TOAD and it’s simply awesome!
I’ve never been so happy about a new song from my favorite band from the 90’s. This song is my happy place. Toad 100% but fresh. Awesome!!

This is one of Toad's best songs. It has the perfect blend of melody, melancholy, the classic Toad guitar sound (I must acknowledge Todd), and of course, Glen's plaintive vocals. This is right up there with Something's Always Wrong, and it's certainly one of my all-time Toad favorites.

the lyric is actually "don't let the fear *or* the past get in the way" I misheard it at first as well but then heard Glen's acoustic versions and it's clearer what he's singing.

most of these are songs that I wouldn’t expect them to have put on the record so the jury still out until I hear it and have a chance to make a decision on how I feel about it. Glenn has been playing about 30 brand new songs during his sets over the last couple of years leading up to this record being made and there’s probably a solid 14 of them that would’ve made an amazing toad record and only two of those songs and ended up on the record. I understand they sort of went with the theme of hope in the face of adversity for the songs so maybe it’ll make sense once I hear it all together but they left a lot of great songs off and several of them are strong enough that it could’ve potentially landed them back at radio
