This episode upset me because I saw the potential of what it could have been, and probably was before all the re-writes, and it was destroyed by that last 15-20 minutes like really this is all we gone do…. I have felt LRD was dull and boring in the first episode but was like ok this is better. Then we realize it is all going to be about this and man what… no!!!
Also to your points 1) that chef is fine and 2) this is true she supposed to be an ICON where is her roster?!?! Even if Tedros says no she should of had another number ready to go. Where the dude that nut on her face yesterday? Clearly she liked him a little bit like ain’t nobody else???? That’s sus😒😒😒😒
Great observations! The show has a solid foundation in the general plot, but other than that...😩 I hope the chef is the one that talks some sense into Jocelyn and helps her to get back on track. Mainly because I want to see him again. 😂
Ive been binge watching reactions just so I DONT have to sit and watch this mess and yours is by far the FUNNIEST one you’re hilarious!! It would be cool to have some of the scenes playing while you’re speaking over but I really enjoyed you speaking facts and your accent!! 🌹

The show had a lot of potential. Lily is a great actress she’s showing her amazing acting skills but the whole story and show is being completely taken to the wrong path because of Sam and Abel. They are putting the show in their views and we can tell they have no knowledge of mental illness and how to not romanticize it. Her issues (Main Character) are serious, she lost her mom she’s breaking down, she’s not supposed to be masturbating with cups and choking herself and even if she did we don’t need that information it’s just a way of sexuallizing her. Sam needs to learn we don’t like literal corn in our screens, we want an actual story with actual good characters and good plot. I’m just gonna continue to watch it because some of the plot is really good and has potential. You can make something controversial and original showcasing the bad side of fame without it being horrible.
BINGO! You hit the nail on the head. You only need to include sex scenes, S&M, etc in the show if it adds to the story. We don't give a damn if it doesn't. I think Lily Rose Depp is doing a great job. I would have love to have seen her performance in what was the original show. It's like they're writing this current version for teenagers who have no clue about anything.

I've heard Tedros referred to as "Vampire Weekend" and " Vampire Brooklyn" now. 😂
Everybody can see how foolish he looks…everybody but him.
Even Abel describes Tedros as a "vampire" _(metaphorically and with intentionally comedic aspects added in)._
Able has described the character of Tedros as a _"despicable", "psychopath", "douchebag", "loser"_ who _"thinks he looks good"_ , dresses a certain way and has a rattail.

Thanks for posting this excerpts from the GQ article. I only recently started to read articles, and watch videos of the cast and Sam Levinson and I don't know if it's because I've already experienced the show, but the vibes with them are off. They love bomb each other, and wash each other with praise and that too is cringy.

For those of us who stomached this show so far I have a theory. In the first Episode,they show the scene from Basic Instinct when Sharon Stone's character says,"He fell in love with the wrong girl, then she killed him." I think that was foreshadowing. I hope Lily, aka Joycelyn kills Tedros. My bet is she will. Why else show that scene? Just my observation from a writers perspective.

I like the show. It's cringey af but I see what they are doing. It's a cautionary tale about being vulnerable and manipulation. I can't wait to see if Jocelyn overcomes her demons and kicks rat tail tf out her life.
Idk I feel like this could have been a cautionary tale without all the weird exploitative sex stuff. It feels more like a vehicle for Sam and Abel’s juvenile sex fantasies to me.
I, too, see this as a cautionary tale about the predatory, cultish side of fame/entertainment industry which is why I'm still watching. I'm also a fan of singer Moses Sumney (Izaac) so I wonder where his character goes besides being a distraction for Leia. Dyanne and Nikki are other characters I'm keeping an eye on because they're a couple of backstabbers. As for Tedros the Rat tail, they should've let Abel sing them lines instead of saying them 😂

@watchwithmeellebee it's an adult show on HBO so the explicit scenes are nothing new. Sex creates a bond so its nothing more than a weapon for a narc to make its prey comply. It comes down to basic psychology. Jocelyn is vulnerable a k a the rabbit, Tedros is the predator a k a the wolf in sheep's clothing. In most true crime documentaries where the husband destroys his wife life and then kills her, we wonder why didn't she see the red flags before it was too late? So basically the show is showing us the stages of an abusive and toxic relationship and how dangerous a narcissist really is. The devil comes as everything you want, hiding the true intentions until its too late. So I'm hoping Jocelyn breaks free in the end because we are seeing her being exploited.
I watched this episode and after about 20 min I just fast forwarded through it. It is just SICK!!!!!! Little Lily Rose deserves better. Now, I am officially done. It’s just a very bad show. Just bad and there is nothing relatable about it.
There is NOTHING relatable about it. Not even in the aspect of us wishing we were in Jocelyn shoes, or feeling sorry for her. We didn't even get the chance to know or care about her before she started annoying us buy getting with that creepy man.
