The twins killing each other was prophetic and a tragedy. You could see on Rhanyra’s face just how terrible that was. That man was so loyal that he killed the person he came in the world with for her but he couldn’t live with it. That was so much foreshadowing. I also caught how Aegon shocked Otto by really believing his father wanted him to be king. Otto’s face clearly called him an idiot who didn’t understand the scheming it took to get him in that chair. Drunk on power that isn’t even his.
I feel like him sleeping with Alicent is the worst kept secret in the 7 kingdoms. That's why Arrick clapped back with the "where were you Sir Criston?" How dare he?! 😡

As a book reader I knew the twins weren’t long for this world and I hated going through that again, I can’t wait for Christian to get clapped. He is a dirty bitch for sending the twins to their deaths and I will never get over that. The shenans are about to be out of control now that Aegon is in charge and Daemon is in these streets unleashed, the rest of the season finna be good. Alicent needs to be dog walked through the streets like they did Cersei, she is the worst mom on the series and that is saying a lot. She has a whole third son who they causally name dropped at the end and it just goes to show how much Alicent don’t mess with her own kids especially when you compare her to all the other mothers on the show. I can’t wait for her to meet Jesus as well
I like to point something out that's going to knock your socks off. It's about the view point of women in general in westeros. In one scene when Jace offer to take his dragon and patrol kingslanding, Rhaenyra shut that idea down but sent Baela to do the same thing that Jace offer to do 15 mins later. It points out that men in the royal family are vital and the women are just expendable tools and could be easily replace. It's pretty messed up to think about it but that's just a cruel world that these characters have to live in.
It's so messed up! Women are super disposable in the show. I also realized that now that the poor baby was 💀 that Aegon is in the exact same spot his father was in. A king with no male heir and only one daughter. smh

Then I also fault Viserys ole rusty ass, he saw his health and mind was on the decline. He should’ve descended the throne and crowned Rheanyra Queen of the seven kingdoms while he was still somewhat alive 😂 he should’ve made it a clean transition. So both are to blame for this
Viserys definitely needed to crown rhaenerya while he lived, I mean he knew he was trying to do something new and controversial, how was he ok leaving it to fate and very old oaths. But I think rhaenerya may have ended up imprisoned like rhaenys if she stayed at KL

At least Lady Rhaena and Lady Baela out survive the other kids in the story and are beloved in the books. One is more ladylike and the other is more rambunctious, like her father going around getting in trouble etc. . . Makes me think that is another reason that Rhaenys supports Rhaenyra, for the love of her deceased daughter and her grand daughters. Women supporting their women heirs. Kind of hope Mysaria comes back to support Rhaenyra, too. She has a quote in the season's trailer saying "there is more than one way to fight a war". They also setting up Addam of Hull watching Baela riding on Sea Smoke I believe in that one clip where he finds the crab in the sand.
Love your re-caps. I’m not big on action or violence but I have to say the Battle of the Twins was outstanding. And the way it ended was a top tier performance. I admit I was pretty confused during the fight by exactly who was who. But knew for certain it was Erryk in the end who fell on his sword simply by Rhaenera’s reaction in the last few moments of that scene. Also I was thinking it would be more impactful to have Erryk the good twin win & do himself in. He gave up his own life doing his duty for the Queen & from the shame of killing his own blood who turned out to be the Queen’s enemy. Great episode. I agree, next week should be excellent as well.

Alicent however you spell her name has gone crazy and poor Rheynera should have sleep problems from here on out. Am I wrong? I watch your recaps to make sure I understand the ins and outs of this show. I would watch and rewatch GOT to understand who was who and after watching more than once I would finally understand. Then I would ride the short bus bc I would get confused still… no offense to short bus riders at all just saying.
