Great restoration, this was one of my favorite toys, in December of 1974, we moved from New Jersey back to Puerto Rico , and we took all of our furniture. I thought my mom had packed al of my gi joe stuff, including my space capsule, but 3 months later, Mayflower moving delivered all our stuff ,and I looked and looked for my gi Joe's and only a few made it the capsule was left in the basement in a box, I bet the kids that moved in after us had a blast with all my toys, I used to use the Mat Mason comand center as the space capsule comand center, my gi Joe's actually fit on the chairs, these were amazing toys, my grandson wants me to get the capsule he has a bunch of ideas with it hahaha 😂 great job brother your a genius!🚀🚀🛰🛸👨‍🚀

This turned out great! Fantastic restoration! I picked up the repro version of this space capsule from the Mission Splashdown set not too long ago, it's a classic Joe set, and a fitting tribute to all of our American astronauts exploring the great unknown. Thanks for sharing your video!👍

Very cool, but I would have added lights to the panels and displays in the cockpit. EXCELLENT work on the restoration.

That has always been a great set. I need to put one together but it will most likely be repro parts from Jim which will be perfectly fine with me. Great video Jeff you're fast becoming another Toy Polloi

That came our really nice. Now you need to launch it on top of a 12" diameter Redstone with an H motor.

Hey there. I posted the link to the handles manufacturer in the video description. The other items are from TK560 on Etsy. I’ll find a link. Also I’m doing and in depth review this Tuesday of the 3D printed space items on my channel.

I'd never actually gotten a good look at the glow-in-the-dark capsule interior before, probably because those were only available in 1969. I can imagine that would have been something to see with the cockpit full charged up and the lights turned off. Excellent job on the restoration, and I must say you have a fantastic eye for color - that blue is so dead on that I would never be able to tell that the control levers had been repaired if you hadn't shown us. It's a shame that the plastic is getting so brittle on these old gems. I'm wondering if any of the old Jeeps, ATVs, and other vehicles will survive until Joe's 100th anniversary. Hasbro missed a golden opportunity for the 50th by not making a reproduction of the Jeep and trailer. I know those would have been sold out within hours of hitting the store shelves.
I'm going to plug another channel here, as it has a pretty extensive collection of vintage G.I. Joe commercials from 1964 - 1968, and a companion website where you can get a good look at all the different incarnations of G.I. Joe and his equipment all the way through the Military, Adventures of G.I. Joe, the Adventure Team and the very end of the line with The Defenders in 1975.

In closing, another well done video, and it looks like your space program is well under way. As always, Keep Living the Adventure!
